Hired two movers to come help me with a move. They did an excellent job loading and unloading the truck. They were quick and efficient and took good care of all my stuff.

I received a call 30 minutes before my crew was due telling me that due to traffic, they would be 2 hours late. This meant that they would be arriving after I had planned that we would already be finished. They asked "if that was ok". I didn't feel that I really had a choice, so I agreed. When the crew arrived, they were not identifiable by uniform or by vehicle. Nothing about them indicated that they were with this company.
Again, I needed items moved right away, and had no choice but to accept the crew. They were absolutely not professional movers-more like if you had asked a couple of coworkers to help you move. One mover could not keep his pants up because he said that his belt "was broke".
We started with large items-the sofa they left on it's back, in the middle of the room without the legs on it. They attempted to move a dresser with loaded drawers in it that kept sliding open with things falling out. At that point I resolved to just be happy if things made it into my home.
After just under an hour, I noticed that there was a child in the vehicle that the 2 crew members had arrived in. One mover indicated that his movie must be over. It was at that time that I decided it might be time to let them go. It became even more awkward when one crew member indicated that I could have money returned to me for unused time, but only if I agreed to pay them on the spot in cash. When I indicated that I was not able to do that, he stated that I would just have to pay for the 2 hour minimum on my credit card and also told me that I would need to call to tell the company to pay them. I tried to call but was on hold-he stood and watched me approve payment and said that they could not leave until he witnessed me approve the full payment. Very uncomfortable.
These people were friendly. They were nice. They were NOT movers, and were NOT professional. The "pay me in cash" thing made me VERY uncomfortable. I was left with lots of work that I thought I had arranged help with-and paid well for it. Absolutely would not recommend.

Thanks Metro Movers for taking care of my moving job. The workers were on time and worked very efficiently. They were very careful with my furniture and boxes and moved everything where I asked them to move it. It wasn't an easy job - moving furniture from the 2nd floor of my home to the basement and vice versa, plus moving heavy boxes of books from my garage to a bedroom. I'd definitely hire them again.

I called at the last minute for help. The guys came out as soon as they had finished another job, and even though it was late evening (8:45) everything was quickly unloaded and carried up to a third floor apartment. Two really nice guys. Really hard workers. When I thanked them for the ASAP service they said, "Hey, that's what we're here to do." I highly recommend them and was extremely pleased with the whole process.
