Strong Arm Moving is a Denver, CO based moving labor company. We provide strong, fast, efficient movers to load and unload rented moving trucks (Budget, Uhaul, Penske) and delivered storage units (PODS, Pack--rat, ABF, U-Pack). Strong Arm Moving also provides internal moving services, which includes carrying furniture from one p…read moreart of a residence to another. Strong Arm Moving can pack and unpack your belongings as well as assemble and disassemble basic furniture. We are a residential and commercial moving company.

However, no one called me about their being late; I had to call and ask where they were. One of the young men was not strong enough to be a mover, and the burden was carried primarily throug…read moreh the taller, more muscular and apparently more experienced mover. Since they brought no moving equipment -- and I told them when I first asked for services that I had no moving equipment and asked them to bring, at my expense, anything they would need -- the movers got very tired very quickly carrying heavy boxes upstairs. A huge gash was put into my armoir during the move, but they did not tell me about it; they just opened the armoir door so I could not see the gash until I closed the door after they were gone. They were not strong enough to carry the sofa bed (and I specifically advised when I asked for moving services that I had a sofa bed), and unremovable scuff marks were left on the sofa by the movers. It was a difficult move -- up three flights of stairs -- but I advised of those stairs when I first asked for services. They worked hard, although they needed several 5-minute breaks to catch their breaths. They had moved a large home prior to my move, and they were tired before they showed up at my place. The movers were very nice and polite to me at all times, but the smaller of the two men was not capable of being a mover. I would not use this company again. Show Response

When I called, they said it was going to be another 3 hours... maybe... they wouldn't tell me a specific time... at this point I started getting frustrated and had to be the one to ask if there was anything that could be done. They finally called someone else in who did end up coming over (someone finally arrived 5 hours after they were supposed to). Frankly, the 2 new guys that came probably did a better job than the original company would have because they at least seemed to understand my predicament and cared.... wish I would have called them in the first place instead. Do NOT use this company! They obviously do not know how to estimate how long jobs will take and therefore overbook themselves; getting you moved in on time is not on their priority list anywhere. I was about to have to just walk outside and start begging my new neighbors for help and this company was rude over the phone and didn't seem to care. I try to be a reasonable person and have never written a bad review online before because I actually used to work in hospitality and I know the weight a bad review can carry. My advice to the company is to not overbook and be honest with your customers. If you're going to be 5 hours late, admit it and be polite about trying to work out a solution. Most consumers are fairly reasonable and understanding but if you're rude and make no effort to find a solution you'll have problems. Show Response

Moreover, they had me sign a waiver for damages to my household items because I did not have 12 blankets and they ruin my home and items but I cannot claim anything due to the waiver. Also, I was never provided any paperwork from them. They ONLY look out for their best interest and not the customers. I also overheard them quietly speaking about damaging something but brought up the waiver that I had signed which would cover their butt. That was pretty low as far as I am concerned! The one who runs the little business and his helper were definitely not on the up and up! They both came across as genuinely honest workers....Don't let them fool you!!!!! Do not sign anything until the job is done or have a plentiful stock of blankets so there is no signature required or requested. I feel like such a fool but it was a lesson well learned. OH and the nerve of them breaking my daughters vanity mirror on her vanity, repaired it with glue and then tell me that I earned 20 extra minutes of their time!!!!! Show Response

They took numerous smoke breaks and didn't seem particularly hurried despite taking such a long time. The packing itself ranged from acceptable to "i-can't-believe-that-didn't-break-during-the-drive" awful. Stemware was barely wrapped while plastic novelty items had so much bubble wrap on them i couldn't even discern what was inside. They packed our DVD player with three DVDs inside it, broke my fiancé's computer (he was able to fix it), and packed some items we were leaving in Denver inside the truck where we couldn't get to them. Worst of all, though, was that they packed my bags for the long drive from Denver to NYC in the very front of the truck despite being reminded many times that i absolutely needed them to be in the cab with me. They contained clothing, activities for the road, and all of my medications. Needless to say, in spite of their wonderful demeanor, we weren't at all impressed by or happy with our experience with Strong Arm. I do feel bad about this rather scathing review and the recommendation i'm about to give them, but i want to be honest for the sake of future potential costumers. I do want to say that some members of the moving team were exceptional; we're quite sure the only reason things didn't break is because Duane packed the truck so well, and i could tell which boxes the younger John packed because they were well done. They were organized, on-time and the guy scheduling was very prompt and responsive. I had 14ft UHaul packed to capacity and they brought everything up safely and neatly (to my 3rd floor apartment) in about 45min - 1hour. We had someone in the apartment directing the boxes and they went above and beyond putting them in the correct room / storage. Throughout the move, the guys were friendly, professional and courteous. In hindsight I would have called Strong Arm before ordering loaders, to make sure they were able to send loaders with adequate experience at loading a POD. The PODS are picked up in a specific manner that creates some wobbling and potential for the items…read more inside to shift, so this needs to be considered when loading. The loaders packed the POD in such a way that most items (until the end when they had no space left but to tie items down very precariously), were secure. Unfortunately this was also a way that would have damaged much of my furniture had it been left that way for the 6 months that my POD will be in storage. My boyfriend had to rearrange the whole thing - this after he had pre-arranged everything to fit in the POD in a much more secure and non-damaging way inside my apartment. The loaders needed only to move things exactly as they had been laid out, but decided their method was better. Just one issue was that their method left an indentation on my leather chair after only 6 hours in the POD (in addition to the large scratch they had already left on the chair). I would have had even more damage to more items after 6 months. They also loaded several boxes upside-down, on their side, etc. One of the loaders was polite and helpful, the other was polite but did not seem to care how he treated my things. He left white paint smudges (from hitting the door jams) on almost every piece of wood furniture I own!!! Show Response

Due to the lack of a freight elevator in the building, the movers had to utilize an elevator that was available for the move only intermittently, because the elderly residents of the building also still needed to use it often. The elevator became quite a bottleneck, blocking the speedy transport of the big furniture, since it frequently was not available when needed. In all of this the Strong Arm Moving helpers remained focused and goal oriented and they worked hard trying to complete the move in the allotted time, despite of the difficult elevator situation.
