They showed up on time ready to work but apparently didn't understand the job I had outlined for them. I had spoken with someone on the phone the day before and explained in detail what I needed done which was my house emptied out. They came, packed and carried some stuff out to my storage container but they seemed unprofessional and they even looked at me like I was nuts when I suggested they could remove the legs from the dining room table to save space, and then they just left the bolts sitting in the middle of the floor where they landed. When they had filled my container in 75 minutes they informed me they would be leaving. I had a lot more stuff to be packed and carried out of that house either to the curb for trash or to the garage to be put in the next U-Box I was going to have to order but they told me that wasn't going to happen, they were leaving but not to worry that I would only be charged for the hour and 15 minutes that they had worked. Of course the next day their boss called me up looking for his two hour minimum and I refused to release it to him because his rep had basically walked off the job and told me I would only have to pay the 75 minutes they had actually worked. I had plenty of work to be done yet and had made it clear what the job was, they just didn't want to do it. Although twice the guy in charge on site had offered to come back later after he'd dropped the other guys off and work for me directly under the table which I refused since I had already paid them for 3 guys for 3 hours. In the end Hire a Helper graciously decided to cover the difference for me which I believe was $90 so everyone walked away happy on the payment resolution but I would not, could not and will not recommend them.
In the 75 minutes - our crew repacked & loaded your cubes so more could fit in. They also packed up your items and filled the empty cube that you had. There was no more room for anything else. Also, what I think is missing from your explanation is the fact that you wanted them to houseclean for you. As I mentioned, it's clear that our responsibilities are as movers and not housecleaners. In addition, they walked through your home with you to discuss what was left to do and, besides clean house, their job was finished. You were also well aware of the 2 hour minimum that was clearly posted on your invoice. You had booked us for 3 hours and our crew was able to complete your moving needs in less than half that.
Again, we take pride in what we do as movers and I'm sorry there was a misunderstanding of what you had expected of us.

The guys from Alhood Van lines were the best. The communication was excellent from start to finish. The crews that helped us unload were very well trained and did a great job. They were friendly, strong, organized and very careful with our fragile items. This was the second time we’ve used Alhood and will call them the next time too!

They were hard working but did not deliver all boxes to the right destination. I had every box labeled where it was to go and too many mistakes were made. Did a horrible job of putting the bed and kitchen table together. Overall I am thankful I did not have to unload the pods but they need to be more careful.

The crew was very nice and initially seemed to be taking great care with our things. However, the entire packing process took much longer than I felt it should have. I booked three movers for three hours and thought it may take up to an extra two hours. It ended up taking four hours longer than we booked, which may have been acceptable except that the guys disappeared for 30-45 minutes at least twice. We were moving out of a third floor apartment at the complete opposite end of the complex from the loading dock, so trying to make sure everything was packed, while also making sure they were being efficient with our time was all but impossible. Then, when we reached our out of state destination and our stuff was being unloaded, we discovered that Alhood had done a poor job of safely packing our things into the trailer. Several items were damaged or broken completely because heavier items were stacked on boxes or furniture they shouldn't have been on top of. It wasn't the worst case scenario, but I would not recommend this company to anyone else.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Our customers will receive an introductory email & phone call to review details & materials important for a safe & efficient move. We will call a day or two before the move to confirm the date & arrival time.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Your crew will call en route with an updated arrival time. At your home the crew will do an initial wallk through to review items to be loaded & they will prep your home's floors, railings & doors with tarps & protection. The walk through is the time to point out any items or areas that need special attention - such as antiques, attics, etc.
