Ricky and Calvin did an amazing job helping us move our daughter out of her apartment in Richmond. What would have taken us hours to do they did in one hour. Ricky got everything in the truck and when we arrived at our location nothing had moved. Very nice guys and great to work with. Thanks!!

Unfortunately I was disappointed. I thought I hired packing and moving labor help, but the guys who arrived looked at me like I had two heads when asked to help pack a few things. They would only move heavy things and disassemble the beds. Speaking of which I am certain they broke my son's bed. Pieces were banging around and slamming on to the hardwood floors and after they left we found multiple pieces of the hardware lying around the floor. Also they were rushing me after refusing to help with packing the last few large items despite me having booked extra time and them saying they were way ahead on time and finishing an hour early. Left some heavy things out back as well that I ended up having to load my self despite having paid for movers. Guys were otherwise respectful and worked fast. About 10 min late to arrive, but like I said finished early bc they were fast.

I requested 3 movers for 3 hours, and they were all friendly, nice guys who showed up on time. They filled my truck in just over 2 hours, which I thought might happen, but I wanted to be safe with the extra hour. However, not everything could fit into the truck. This is partly my fault, as I could have gotten the next bigger size, but I also think they could have loaded it more efficiently. For example, there was a lot of empty space near the roof, and dead space between the arms of my couch which could have been used. To their credit, they got the big and bulky furniture items in, but I had to spend a few more hours after they left loading things like lamps and patio chairs into the truck and my own vehicle. In the end, I got everything to my new house, and they were the cheapest option I found. I got what I paid for.

I made a reservation and unfortunately when I spoke with Thomas he could not come out till 5hrs after I initially request. When speaking with him I unfortunately accepted the time change without discussing with my spouse. I then proceeded to call him back TWO minutes after the initial phone call which he told me he could not cancel the job and I needed to call Hire A Help. I called Hire A Help to cancel the job five minutes after speaking with him so he would not get anything on his record and he still decided that he needed to charge me the $75 cancellation fee despite causing him no delay and calling to cancel the job with the company myself. Hire A Help found that to be such poor business practice that they reimbursed me despite his need to bill me the cancellation after only a 15minute transaction.

We had originally requested another moving company through HireHelper, but they were unavailable. HireHelper customer service is amazing and called to suggest another company. That company was Lewis Moving. Lewis Moving did a good job helping unload our 26' rental truck. We had 2 guys for 3 hours, but they ended up staying an extra half hour because I had underestimated the time needed. They showed up on time and came prepared. They were kind and courteous, and worked fairly hard. Some items didn't make it to the rooms requested, but it's something to be expected, I'm sure. No one is perfect! Overall, we are pleased. We would probably use them again should the need arise.

They were earlier than expected, but called to asked if that was ok and I honestly can't blame them because of the heat. All three men worked hard AND consistently. They were courteous and respectful and took the time to rearrange things so that particular furniture items could fit better. I had a ton of stuff, but they finished even before the two hours were up, saving me from having to pay additional fees. Thanks, Lewis Moving!
