Just ok. The two men they sent were early; which is not such a good thing sometimes when you are moving. They were older and tired after an hour; I hired them for 4 hours. We did end up keeping them additional hours, however, we still ended up completing the job the next morning ourselves because they were tired and talking more than working in the end. They got the big stuff on the truck, so that was good. I will not be using them again for moving services.
They sent out two men-one quite old and the other was young-I had to pay for 4 hours and they worked about 2 hrs. The unloading seemed to be too hard for them. They were willing to work but some items were too heavy for them. My son had to help them out. They were on time and prepared to work.
The two gentlemen that arrived to help us move were quite nice and extremely helpful. I had an unexpected delay in the move and they were most gracious when asked if they could stay longer. These guys were not what I expected as a moving company! It took them 3 hours to move what the other company loaded in Houston in 45 mins! They were very respectful and worked hard to complete the task. They were an hour late only because they were given the wrong address. I hired two "men" to unload furniture from Cargo Van into a 2-BR apartment and then to load furniture in 1-BR apartment and unload into the 2-BR apartment. I immediately called the office and was told they would send out a replacement. Two hours later no replacement arrived and Labor Ready did not return my call. After I called again, it took about 45 minutes for a petite 110 pound female to arrive who could not move most of the furniture. As a consequence, at age 57 at the end of the day I was moving heavy furniture from 6PM - 9PM in the dark in the middle of the winter (Jan. 2015) with the other laborer, who did a great job under the circumstances. Labor Ready then had the audacity to bill me for the time of the petite female who could not help with moving furniture (though she did move clothes, linens, etc.) -- which was the main reason I hired Labor Ready. I definitely would not use them again!
I hired 2 workers for 4 hours on 01/05/2015 and had the same two workers (Angelo and Mitchell) come back on 01/06/2015, for another 4 hours. Both workers were on time and were hard workers. The 2 people who came out to help us unload, just did not want to do the job. They were lazy and more concerned with getting back before 5pm so they could get paid. Labor Ready are a good service, but the 2 that came out were lazy, miserable, would not speak or smile and looked as though they just did not want to work..

There is certainly a difference between movers and laborers. One of the individuals had little to no concern for not damaging our household goods. They did provide the extra muscle I needed but I will spend some time fixing the damage to a few items.
June 29, 2014 was a rough day for me because of having used "Hire-a-Helper" for my move. I had made arrangements through Labor Ready, which is a sub-contractor (or so they say) of HAH. They ended up refunding me part of the money they had already debited from my account but I won't be considering them when I move my belongings from storage into my new apartment either in October or November.

They showed up on time, but stood around their car for 15 minutes smoking. After asking my neighbors to move their car…Read Mores, so I could park my 26 foot truck next to the apartment door, they asked what floor I was on. It was the third. They continued to complain about how far up it was. Then on entering my apartment, they began to complain about how (nothing was ready). I had already prepped, the apartment by moving all of my boxes to the breezeway, and the only thing that was not taken apart was my bed, which I took apart while they were moving everything else. That was when the team leader told me that it would take him longer than four hours to load the truck. This was ridiculous, as a team of two moved me into the apartment in an hour and a half, without complaint. This team had three people. They then stood in the breezeway of my apartment talking to each other for another 30 minutes. When I told them that their time hadn't started yet, they reminded me that it started once they showed up. I reiterated that they hadn't started working yet, so I was not paying for them to "shoot the ****." That was when they started actually working. After telling them that the appliances were staying, they tried to move them three or four times, and they packed multiple things I told them not to pack. They then took another break an hour in. Finally they filled the truck, and we drove to my storage location. I offered them water and soda, and the team lead asked me for champagne. Once arriving their, they informed me that it was going to be a tight fit. The storage shed was a 15x12 room, which should have been more than enough room for a two bedroom apartment. They just shifted things around for a 15 minutes, until I had to tell them how and wear to place things, and several times I had get them to re-place things so that my things weren't in an unstable condition or in a position to be damaged (furniture placed on its side, fragile or light boxes placed underneath heavy ones). After that, all members had an attitude, and would not move anything without explicit instructions from me. As with the rest of the day, I had to move a lot of things, in order to expedite their slow pace. At the end, they did not have a pen for me to sign the work forms. This team had a horrible attitude, it took a ton of prompting to get them to work, and they complained the entire time. I would not use them again.
The original movers I had hired had cancelled at the last minute and Labor Ready was able to take the job. Two guys showed up. I call back and leave messages through the call center. I called three times before I finally got through to someone who was willing to help. The other worker finally showed up at 1:45. The guys worked pretty hard (1 way harder than the other), but complained a lot. Then the job wasn't finished but the 1st guy left - he left the other guy to carry a queen size bed, 2 bookshelves and a desk!! Kudos to the 2nd guy who did as much as he could. Unfortunately all the heavy lifting at the end caused him to become ill and thus he left. The job was not finished. I could have had help come the next day but I didn't want to end up in a similarly frustrating situation so I managed the rest by myself. I do not think the company asked enough questions when I scheduled the job to realize perhaps 2 guys wasn't enough. I feel they are very disorganized and don't have enough workers to handle the jobs they book. The workers they did send were nice and they worked hard, but based on my explanation above I will not use this service again.

My two helpers arrived in a timely fashion and were very professional in their approach to the job. These two guys showed up on time and initially seemed to be willing workers, however, one of them kept asking me for stuff -- seriously, he asked if I was taking items with me! Items were packed so tightly some things got broken that shouldn't have been, simply because of the poor job they did. Sorry, I would never use this service again. I will pay more in hopes of getting better qualified workers who do not beg for my belongings.
The labored were on time and worked daily hard, but towards the end of the day broke a few things and even forgot to box and load my beddings and kid clothes. I wold choose someone else the next time and probably allow more tr to pack and load stuff
Our helper showed up 15 minutes earlier than was expected! We were just pulling in to the apartment complex. Along with my son, they hauled all the heavy furniture up two flights of stairs to the apartment. He hardly took a break for a drink. We were super happy with our helper and recommend his service to anyone!
I recently moved from Michigan to Hahira, Ga. I had friends and family to help pack and load but no one in Georgia. I found labor ready online and was skeptical. Very hard working guys unloaded our FULL 16 foot rental truck in just over 1 hour! The people we hired to load it didn't finish in 3 hours!!! We have never had to hire movers before so choosing the right moving company was very important to us. My boyfriend got a job out of state and I was left to handle the entire move myself. They were also under the impression they were just moving 1 room. Really!? I hired 2 guys for 4 hrs to just move a room? Then they told me to move my 1200sqft apt. They would need to call 2 more guys and it would take 8hrs. That's when I knew there was a problem. So that's when they began to move all my furniture out to put in the pod. On the way down they TRASHED my walls. I'm talking holes, dents, and scratches. As the 4hrs progressed the laziness increased. Because I was a woman by myself and I don't know these guys and they have control of all my stuff I tried to lead by example instead of bossing them around. That means, quickly carrying boxes and packing the pod. Well, it didn't work. So I then had to move all the heavy stuff near the door to get them to carry what they needed to. That's when they asked if they could THROW my boxes down the stairs. I said no but when I left the room I heard them throwing my boxes. I could go on but this would get to be a too long of a post. After the 4hrs we're up I was left with all of my stuff on the sidewalk, 1/2 my stuff still in the apartment, damaged walls, neighbors ive never met coming uo to me to tell me that every time i went inside they sat down until i came out, and their trash all over my parking lot, and 2 big dudes standing over me urging me to write them a good review on my reciept and that they accept tips! In order to do the job myself I had to work well into the night and then slept on my floor to finish the next day, as my boyfriend wasnt able to be there to help me. They cost me my entire security deposit, and we'll see whats broken when I open my boxes. My boyfriend contacted the company who was then supposed to contact me to get a first hand account. They didn't. I had to call, to which I gave my entire account and emailed pictures of the damage. The woman said she would investigate and get back to me. I got 1 email a week later and that's it. I emailed again after i spoke to my landlord who was very upset about the damage as he knew it was done by the movers. No response. So, they won't get back to me after they cost me a total of $1400 betweeen their fee and my security deposit. In summation, despite the good reviews, think twice about using Labor Ready.
The men that helped with my move were very efficient and careful with all my things. They had an extra challenge since I lived in a third floor apartment. That's all I cared about. They were super surprised when I gave them a tip. Don't know if it's 'cause they know they weren't the best or that no one ever tips these people.
The two guys were dropped off right on the start time(9:30am). The seemed prepared and ready to go. Within 10 minutes of getting a plan of attack they were off to move stuff. The other man was more helpful, though neither of them were what I expected. We ended up having to destroy our couch because your guys got the couch stuck in the hallway and after repeated attempts, could neither move the couch forwards nor backwards. Our contract was accepted, but low and behold workers that the company contacted didn't think …Read Morethey could get us labor to help move the furniture and boxes. It was Friday when this fell through, Labor Ready was contacted by Hire A Helper. com. We had two very hard-working men at our door 10AM Sunday from Labor Ready. By noon, the U-Haul was loaded and ready for departure. These two men were very careful with the items they moved. They worked well together and talked about about what needed to go where and what should be moved next. What started as a very stressful move, became a calm and carefully articulated move because Labor Ready was contacted and they chose two excellent employees to work with us/for us that day. HireAHelper came through because at that late date they negotiated and found another work source for us. They honored their commitment to us and we highly recommend them to others. D. & M. Myer
- I changed and confirmed our move date with the company. They never processed it through the right channels and I had to call on the morning of our move to remind them to send someone. The guys that they sent were barely capable of moving any of our furniture out of our 3 story home. I spent hours fixing and cleaning the wal…Read Morels after they were finished. They were not moving men. They were two guys who just needed something to do. One of the men was about 60.... I understand I could have called the company and they would have sent different people, but they were already 1 hour late and we were on a time crunch.
If you in dire need, do not use HireAHelper. We ordered and paid in full two weeks ahead of our move, confirmed everything with "Brian" who assured us we could request experienced movers - HA. Not only was Brian conveniently out ill on the morning of our move, his replacement called to say he was still looking for two workers fo…Read Morer us. They showed up eventually, an hour late, and only after a highly stressed call was placed. For 3 of the 4 hours they worked as slow as possible, "analyzing" how items should go in the moving truck while my husband carried boxes in and out of the house. Finally when I came home and saw we had an hour left, and half the house to still load, I asked them to step it up, which they did do - FINALLY. Amazingly, they finished packing the truck in just over 4 hours, but the whole experience dealing with Labor Ready from start to finish was very disappointing. The workers had never packed a moving truck before. I will say they were courteous, but by no means professional or on time.
I hired 4 men to move furniture and housing items into a 3 story townhome. Some of the furniture items were very heavy and bulky. The guys did great!! No complaints, they worked hard and did very little wall damage to our very narrow steps. The service cost was low and I will rehire if and when needed again.
I needed two helpers to load a moving truck. I filled out an application and within minutes I had a response. My two helpers showed up 15 minutes early and properly dressed for the work. They were hard working and not once did I have to "find" them. This was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend HireAHelper…Read More.com to anyone needing temporary help.
I was not that impressed but let me start off by saying they got the job done. But they were far from professional I believe one was drunk still from the other night and he was an older man I and asked for movers so needless to say he didnt move much. The other man was making and taking personal phone calls while on the job, in …Read Moreall might have wasted 45 mins. They were always arguing this is something I couldnt understand. so honestly no I would not use this service again I could have just paid family to do the move and wouldnt have had to deal with all of this.
This is a challenging review to write because I was extremely satisfied with part of the service and very dissatisfied with the other part of the service. Let me start with the people who actually showed up and did the work: they were GREAT! One was an experienced mover and did an excellent job of guiding the other guy and secur…Read Moreely packing the truck and generally taking good care of my belongings. I could not be happier with the quality of the individuals Labor Ready sent. My dissatisfaction is with the administrative staff at Labor Ready. Even though I booked the job 2 - 3 weeks in advance and was contacted the day after I booked the job online, when I called at 3pm the day before to confirm they said I was not listed on the schedule for the following day. When I specified who had initially called me I was told, "she's gone home for the day but will be in early tomorrow." Frankly, I was shocked at the unwillingness to contact their staff to determine the details for a job that was set to begin between 8 - 9 the following morning, despite the fact that I told them I had a truck rented and a schedule I needed to keep. About 9am I received a call that they would definitely have people at my home but they were going to be late. The workers arrived at 9:40am. Thankfully, I had planned some extra time in my schedule. My advice is, if you choose Labor Ready, confirm the job with their office TWO DAYS in advance so they have time to resolve any accidental oversights. The helpers did an excellent job once they arrived and I would definitely hire them again.
I requested two labors for moving heavy furnitre from one building to another since I moved into a new bigger size apartment and needed extra hands to move the heavy items which I alone can not do. I was expecting them at 12:00pm. At 12:30ish pm I got a call from the labor asking about the address. and he lost his way. When I ca…Read Morelled him back to follow up in between while he was trying to find his way to my home, he seemed to be very less attentive to my instructions to find the route as if he was doing something else on the way and just pretending that he lost his way. Well I did not mind until then. The elevators were booked in the building for certain duration in both the buildings and it is winter of January (toward the end of month). I requested them to arrive at 12:00pm expecting this move to finish before evening. After one hour around at 1pm the labor arrived and when I asked about the second labor, he showed a surprised face to me telling that he should have arrived at 12pm. He then told me that he has been calling the office but no one was picking the phone to help him with the address or anything. So then I started calling the laborready office and then came to know that the second labor informed the office two days before that he would not be able to do this assignment but office missed his message and did not assign anyone else. Well then the manager of the labor ready tried to do a firedrill action and found some guy who works in the RiteAids and brought him to my office by 3pm. That was great. The first guy guy kept waiting till then since the work was for two guys only as I explained in the work order itself. Since the move was between two buildings, I had to give one key to these folks. The guy who works in the RiteAid told me all of a sudden that he gave that key back and apparantly I lost the key. This is the key to the new apartment. I am baffled since I never had the key (felt it as very ominous and insecure to work with these folks alone with two kids and wife in the silence of winter night). Then all of a sudden after one hour he told me that it was his mistake that he did not check all his pockets and he got the key back. (You can imagine how much thankful I was to the Lord). As expected, I started running short of the time so I asked them if they can stay back a little more. The guy from RiteAid refused saying that his wife works late night shift and he has to do baby sitting. So I can not say anything else. The other guys was wiling to stay back. But I can not lift heavy furniture with him due to some medical conditions. The next day I had to take help from other local people by paying extra to get the remaining work done. All that was fine... not that bad. The height was surpassed when I got a call from HireAHelper confirming if the labors worked for more than 4 hours since the laborready is asking for 3 hour extra for the first labor (who apparantly was waiting). And this was claimed by the manager who brought the second missing guy at 3pm. When the manager arrived at my home, she asked the first guy if he did anything in front of me and he told her not. Then she chimed the clock at 3pm and started the time. Still she billed for 3 hours extra. Even the work order that I signed after the work got over had this clearly mentioned that they worked only for 4 hours. It seems that she did not even refer to the work order that was signed by me. Well I would call it as very bad overall experience. But for such a cheap price, I should not have expected professionalism. However, it is not just the professionalism, I felt very insecure for a brief while working with their men. I really wish if laborready can improve on the professionalism front by keeping the same price structure, then the labor ready can be the best. I would prefer to pay more for a prefessional company which can provide peace of mind.
This is my first experience with HireAHelper.com and I was very pleased. Both men had the knowledge and experience I needed for the move. They were both on-time, professional and very courteous. Best of all, they took care of everything without wasting time. I would certainly use HireAHelper.com again. Thanks
This was the worst service and moving experience I have ever had. 1. The workers showed up late, and were lazy. 2. They required constant supervision and kept trying to sneak smoke breaks. 3. Fortunately the door was still under warranty and I did not lose my deposit but it was a huge hassle negotiating with the committee. 5. While promising to return with a vehicle they left without finishing the job. She apologized and made arrangements for other workers to come back 3 days later to finish the job.Show Response
Per Idalis mgr-I apologize for the issues you had with the workers. Jessica from our branch spoke with you about the situation with the workers. You did not mention anything to her about damages. I apologize for the worker not returning to finish getting out the furniture, but that was agreement you made with the worker. I personally went with a friend that had a truck to remove the furniture to provide good customer service. I spoke with Paul Stoppi who did not mention about damages. Thank you

I had contracted the movers to help a set amount of time they said they could not work to that time. I said I would call who I hired them through. I was extremly pleased with the two workers that I contracted from labor ready. The were prompt & on-time, they worked hard while they were there & stayed 4 hours after their time was over to help me complete the job. I am glad that I used this service!
I don't know if the problem was with Hire a Helper or Labor Ready, but I ordered the three helpers for 7 AM and they arrived at 10:45. Once they arrived they performed the task well. The time was confirmed by a dispatcher before the date of work...
The 2 gentlemen that helped with our move were experienced movers. They arrived early, worked extremely hard without asking for any kind of break, and were very courteous. I would not hesitate to recommend this service based on this first experience! Eric Las Cruces, NM
This move was not a desired one, and many things went wrong with it...except for the gentlemen from HireAHelper that helped us move. My experience this time was less than favorable. The helper arrived early (which was good), but then proceeded to pressure me to hire his friend that he brought with him for cash. Definitely quality service. Needed help packing and moving house onto a moving truck quickly. I highly recommend this service. My two helpers, Oscar & Miguel were the best, fastest, and courtest helpers anyone could ask for. David and Jonathan did an excellent job. They were very courteous, punctual and well-mannered. They took extra care of our belongings, making sure everything was well protected in the truck. I would definitely recommend these two young men to others.
I cannot recommend them. Two days before the scheduled work date, I was called to confirm, without difficulty. I agreed this was acceptable, as long as I w…Read Moreas charged an appropriate rate. The day of the work order, noone came or contacted me. One hour after the scheduled start time, I called Labor Ready, and was informed that 1) the start time they had was an hour earlier than I desired (making this two hours behind schedule) and 2), apparently NO laborers for this date had a background check. The very polite and apologetic young lady dealing with me stated she attempted to contact the local and regional managers, and that they were trying to clear someone for the weekend. Five hours after the scheduled start time I was finally informed that no one would be available for me. Both the young lady at Labor Ready and Hire a Helper were very polite, and understandably limited in what assistance they could offer, but this is the second time I have had an aide from Hire a Helper no-show on the day of the order without prior warning. I cannot recommend nor will I use either service again.
