Absolutely awesome experience to complete a move/packing job out of state. Cannot say enough about their customer relations (Dawn) and coordination. The driver (Nayeve) was fantastic and went well-above to help my family. PackRat is a great solution for managing the difficulties of a major long distance move.
I experienced a minor hiccup with the transportation company PackRat—the container delivered was in rough shape and didn’t have a functioning locking mechanism, so I couldn’t secure it properly with my own lock. I contacted a supervisor who was very responsive and assured me that the issue would be resolved quickly, with the necessary part replaced. Aside from that, the overall customer service was friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the process. I appreciate their prompt attention to the matter.
They arrived on time, for drop off and pick up and gave us an hours notice prior to arrival. The process was very fast and efficient. The container was as described and most importantly very clean on the inside. Their customer service was very helpful and knowledgeable. We would use them again happily!
First time using a pod - it was a little tricky making sure they had plenty of space to pickup/dropoff the pod, but worked out. Pod was dirty upon arrival so I had to sweep it out before loading anything. The driver was very nice on dropoff and pickup but was supposed to give hour notice before arrival on both occasions and didn't on pickup - thank goodness I was ready. I had a lot of moving pieces with my cross-country move and just needed something affordable and quick. Not thrilled I will be taking 2 days to drive to new place but the pod won't deliver for 10 days doing the same drive. Nervous my stuff is going to get moved around/damaged a bit so hopefully the movers packed everything extra secure!
Everyone I had contact with at Pack Rat was professional and the whole process ran smoothly on this long distance move. The lady that help me decide the size of containers and schedule Hire a Helper was really helpful. My 1 recommendation would be to get a slightly bigger container than you might think you need - it isn't that much more expensive and its better to be able to take all your stuff rather than have to leave some of the stuff that doesn't fit.
I would not recommend this company to anyone because they don't prorate the cost after you are finish with their storage unit. The representative on the telephone tells you they will, but it's not in the contract. After billing is done, they don't refund or prorate the cost. The only thing they kept saying is it in the contract. Now the storage unit will sit in my driveway for 28 more days. Their customer service sucks. Again, do not use this company at all.
The container is good, secure, things were well-kept. Individual drivers I met were polite and knew their stuff. Customer service and logistics are a nightmare. The use of contractors for delivery and pick-up mean that you will get constant delays as things aren't picked up till the last minute and you need to chase them down to make sure they actually do their job at every step of the way. Put a AirTag into your container so you know where it is (they sometimes won't know!). I was offered some compensation for the delay although I would have paid to have my things on time.
We are half way there as our containesare in transit. So far, everythign has been smooth and as they described. The local PackRat delivery / pick up people are wonderful and work with you to make the delivery and pick up as stress free as possible. We had weather on the day of delivery of a container (a Friday) and they delivered on Saturday which didn't affect out schedule with Oregon Trail Moving.
