No problems driving 700 miles

Truck was a little beat up and didn't come with the moving blankets that I paid for but the price was pretty good. I would see when they have a sale and really take advantage of that!

Truck was good. It rode like a truck (haha) but was very clean. I thought the gas mileage was decent. It was easy to book, easy to pick up and easy to drop off (one way rental). I chose Penske because of reputation and proximity to where I was living. I would use them again.

I reserved a 16-foot truck online as well as a stair-climber dolly and a dozen furniture pads (required by the movers (manual labor) we also hired for this move. When I arrived to pick up the truck I had to wait half an hour just to get the keys. To make matters worse when I got out to the truck neither the dolly nor the furniture pads were in the truck (even though the desk agent specifically told me they were). When I went back in to get them, I was told they didn’t have any! Their website advertised that if I paid online at the time of the reservation, this would ensure that my truck was ready AND that any additional items would already be in the truck… so NONE of that was true. I had to call customer service who told me someone could bring the dolly and furniture pads to me from some other location but that it would be at least an hour. This started off our moving day in the worst way, made us late for the movers we had hired to help us, and threw off our entire day. Moving is stressful enough, don’t use Penske unless you want MORE stress during your move.

Guys I have so much to say. I had heard so many good things about Penske, for even one of my family members who has moved within multiple times. However, despite placing an order for the truck and two dozen moving blankets over a week in advance, when I arrive they didn't even have my truck, they didn't know where it was, and they had zero moving blankets in the entire Penske section of the Home Depot. Granted, these are all home Depot employees that I worked with and not specifically Penske staff, but to misplace the entire truck? I had this delicate dance of loaders and unloaders scheduled for the day, so of course step one of the plan catastrophically fell apart. You could argue part of this was my fault for not building in a little more spare time, and you could be right, but to have to wait in line 45 minutes to have the associate at Home Depot; with Penske on the phone, custom create a new order on the spot to give me a truck that they did have in the parking lot - with 0 moving blankets mind you - was nerve racking to day the least. It made me almost an hour late for my first group of men to load the truck for me, and then over an hour late when I arrived at my new apartment complex for the movers unloading the truck, costing at least $300 in overtime fees. Not to mention the assistant manager at the Home Depot refused to write off any moving blankets that they had in their store, meaning I had to spend $200 on my own moving blankets while paying for a truck that disappeared and 24 blankets that got the day off. I would have thought that since Penske in Home Depot have this working relationship that it would behoove them to make things right by providing whatever moving blankets were in the store, but it was not to be. The only reason this doesn't get a one-star is because I at least made it to my destination in one piece, albeit moderately late and incredibly stressed. The next time I move I would seriously consider just hiring full service movers. You're less likely to nearly have your day ruined from the people that I least expected to disappoint me.

Truck worked and fit everything into it

I've always liked renting from Penske, however, this truck's engine light was on for my 175 mile move. It made the move more stressful.

The truck was in excellent shape and we had no issues with it at all.

We got more truck than we needed but was happy with the truck.

Penske is awesome. Their trucks are very nice, have bluetooth, a back up camera so very easy to drive.

The truck rental process was smooth. The driver was outstanding (just kidding, it was me)!

Truck was ready when needed . However there was a squeaking noise between the cab and the cargo box. It was so loud I could not hear the radio

Once I called Penske and reserved a truck, I was put in contact with a national broker who provided me with movers on both ends. Fabulous communication between everyone involved and the movers were very experienced, wrapped and secured all furniture and not one item was damaged upon destination. Highly recommend for your next move.

Easily attained truck

Penske Truck Rental is the best in the business. The team took great care of me and provided an excellent truck in great conditions. The check in process was smooth, the return process was extremely easy and the people at the location are truly a differentiator.

Great to work with. Knew the cost from day one and not added mileage.

Despite a lack of blankets or dolly at the Home Depot, and nobody to tell me which unlabeled button on the dash activated the lift, the truck was still in great condition and my move was easy.

Customer service reps were extremely nice and helpful!!! My only complaints were that the blankets I ordered were not in the truck. Windshield wiper blades needed replaced and there was a water leak into the truck.

The Penske truck was a cut above other trucks I have used. It is big, but easy to drive and definitely up to the task.

The hand truck I ordered had a loose wheel so they had to give me a different one which was smaller and not as strong as the one I ordered

Working with Penske was easy. They allowed me several changes without any hassle (dates, truck sizes). Their communication was spot-on, letting me know our arrangements (money and time). The people at the Fayetteville truck pick-up place were so helpful and thorough in showing me how to do things and wishing me well on my trip. During the trip, I had a wheel on the car carrier go flat. But Penske Roadside assistance (on New Year's Day) was right on it, and kept in regular touch with me while I waited for help to arrive (they had to come from 3 hours away).

We've rented from Penske numerous times. As a military family, we move...A LOT (latest count is 36, with 3 rentals total from our family in the last 3 months and at least 1 more to go) Penske always gives us a great rate and great service. We tried one of the "other" companies once and will NEVER use them again!

Penske Truck was clean, new, in great working condition.

Penske truck was a smooth ride from AL to VA. It was clean and reliable for a cross country move. I’ve used U-Haul in the past for moves in town with questionable trucks and Penske was a no-brainer for this move. Would recommend to anyone moving across the country to get Penske.

The truck was clean and well stocked. Ready to roll out. Calling customer support about DEF additive was pleasant and very helpful. Fully refunded us for the DEF. Blankets were clean and the dollies were in great shape.

Truck issues but Penske made it right! Once we got right truck it was smooth sailing. They stand behind their name 100%. Customer Service excellent. Second time I have gone long distance with them. Would go with them again.

The truck was very new and well equipped with various features, like a backup camera, cruise control, wall outlet, USB Port, AC Adapter, and a light that shows when cars are in your blindspots. I had an issue where my battery died, and the free roadside was simple to call and get set up, and the guy arrived 20 minutes early, to boot!

They were 2 hours late with the truck but they did refund us 300.00 dollars off the move

Great service and truck.

My one bedroom fit great into a 12’ truck but I didn’t have a sofa or tables so I would definitely size up if you have more traditional “one bedroom” apartment furniture. My movers made sure everything fit though and nothing was damaged.

The 16' truck was in excellent condition and easy to handle in all traffic situations. However, the gallons per mile were disappointing.

Windshield was dirty and could of been briefed on the systems.
