The PODs were clean and came on time and were taken on time. The drivers were professional and accurate in placint the PODs. If I had a complaint it was with customer service. Some of the information provided did not seem to apply to the real world. E.G., I was told that my city required a permit to put a POD on the street. When I checked with the city, it turned out that was only true if I blocked a lane, not if I put them in the parking place in front of my house. Also, they were not very good of providing timely invoices. I almost broke my credit card limit because ot this lapse.
I would highly recommend PODS. I called other moving companies which were more than twice the cost for less services. With PODS, I was able to pack the units and store my belongings until I had them shipped from CO to TX. Everything arrived in perfect condition. The drivers were all very courteous, and on time during each leg of the move.
PODS never failed me throughout my entire move. Their staff was knowledgeable, clear and concise, and made sure that I understood the whole process. When I needed to change the delivery date and final pick-up of my PODS, it was very simple and executed perfectly. They were extremely easy to work with, took good care of my possessions, and when you are moving that is exactly what you are looking for in a company.
The PODS company was easy to deal with. Pick up and delivery of the POD went smoothly and the price was competitive. Having transport and storage in one was the most convenient for our needs and saved much trouble. The cost of storage with PODs seems a little expensive, but since you get that convenience it was worth not having to move our stuff multiple times. I would definitely use this service again and recommend it.
Using PODS probably made this one of the easier moves I have been through. The POD agent I spoke to helped me select the correct size POD for my move, the POD arrived on time for loading and unloading, and they even arranged for final pick up of the POD the next day. The only thing that would have made the move easier would have been if it were possible to receive delivery notifications earlier than the night before. Earlier notification would have made coordinating with the people who were helping me load/unload.
PODS failed to deliver the container on time as promised. I had to call and insist on speaking to 2 supervisors to find out they had a hydraulic problem. Had they simply stated the problem, the movers could have been rescheduled and avoid the fiasco. they made me feel like I was the problem. The cost was over $3700 /3000 miles. I won't be using their service again.
So far all I have seen with our PODS company is the delivery process, and that was very good. Tomorrow is the big day when they come to get the pods and deliver them to our new address and then to see how well the furniture handled the move. Our last pod will be delivered to our new house on Dec. 1. So my final review will really need to wait until at least Wednesday and then also by next Tuesday (Dec. 2).
Everything about using a POD to move 1200 miles cross country went as POD describes it from original telephone price quote & reservation to the deliveries and pickups in both origin and destination. Recommend buying moving pads from POD (1 for each piece of furniture) to protect everything. I needed to change the dates of delivery and pickups and those changes were recorded accurately, then emailed to me. Payment process is as expected. I did not store for any amount of time; just loaded the POD, it was moved cross country, then unloaded. Use service providers to load and unload who are experienced in loading PODs and use cord to tie down. Total cost of move was $1000 less than traditional moving company fluffed up price and the transportation cost below does not include the cost of moving pads, loading or unloading labor.
