PODS® Reviews
The only reason I chose them was because of delivery date. They changed everything less than 24 hrs prior! My things will arrive 5 days later than requested with no option for reimbursement! No help with work arounds for permits. I will never use them again! Sends a bunch of random emails but failed to send date confirmation. OVER PRICED TO BOOT!!
Pods got every thing wrong at every step in the process EXCEPT the size of the container. Outside of sending the correct sized container, PODs did everything in their power to make this the most frustrating move I've ever had, and I've moved multiple times in New York City. Incompetent drivers couldn't fit container in my driveway. Terrible internal communications caused them to deliver my container backwards. Not to mention, they showed up multiple times outside of the delivery window causing unnecessary inconveniences. Why say you are going to show up at a certain time, just to show up several hours earlier or later?! My biggest gripe was the lack of communication both internally and externally. On paper, Pods she be one the more convenient options, yet they don't know how to operate efficiently. I would stay away from PODs and their referrals unless you genuinely feel you have no other options. I would've rather tied a trailer to a car and drove across the country myself then used PODs.
PODS was incredibly easy to work with from booking the service (having everything explained clearly and exactly) to the PODS delivered to our old home and delivered to our new one! The phone personnel were top notch and the delivery drivers were fantastic! If we were ever to move again we would definitely use PODS! Tim & Brian W. Indio CA
Communications between customer service and drivers need some work. I had three PODs delivered and all three were on the truck in the wrong direction despite at least an hour each trying to make sure it was correct. One driver did not want to go and turn the POD, which I basically refused delivery (could not load the POD with the door in the grass) so he went and fixed it. Two of the three PODS were new and great, the 3rd and last was in terrible condition. Trying to get that fixed fell on deaf ears and I ran out of time. The POD still works, but it is old and smaller and no hooks to tie down as they advertise. Price is fair, less than a moving company but more than UHAUl. If you are storing your furniture for a month or two, PODS seems the way to go.
First time pod-user. Drop-off went smoothly (watching the Podzilla was honestly pretty cool, lol). However. They rescheduled the delivery of my pod with NO notice an hour AFTER my delivery window had closed. The new delivery date was FOUR DAYS later. Hello? We hired movers to unload? It took me close to an hour on the phone to get them to deliver it the next day. Next day, delivery window comes and goes, no pod. Three hours later, we finally get a call, and the pod is dropped off. All our stuff was basically unmoved so I have no complaints about transport, and everyone I dealt with was polite and professional, but idk if I’d use a pod again. We didn’t want to drive a U-Haul with three cats from Texas to Virginia, and this was cheaper than a full-service moving company by several thousand dollars, so I’d say I got what I paid for. REALLY wish they’d let you rent a 12-foot pod for long distance moves. We definitely did not use the extra 4ft - our entire 2 bedroom apartment would’ve fit perfectly in a 12 footer. Oh well.
Delivery of the PODS went well and Tim, the driver was courteous and helpful. When the fiasco with the moving company happened I called to see if PODS would come the next afternoon instead of the morning. They would - for an additional cost, of course! I paid it and then the drivers showed up the next morning anyway! Facepalm!! I called and am supposed to get refunded the extra cost but what a headache!!
