The Silverthorne dealer leaves much to be desired! "We are not a full service Budget dealer, only a truck location". How true this is. They had no furniture blankets, takedowns, or anything...only a truck. They were not friendly and Budget should find another local dealer who cares!

Our budget truck was terrible. It was very unkept and gross inside. All the surfaces were sticky and even though we had put a car freshener we couldn’t get rid of the stench inside the cab. Customer service is also very poor when we tried to return the truck. They weren’t able to find our reservation in their system which delayed the return of the vehicle.

truck did not have ANY cup holders the running lights in the back did not work and therefore created a dangerous situation at night as I had no lights in the back for others to see me

More than they asked for. I was quoted 49$. I even turned the truck in early, but they heaped on taxes and fees that took me to 90$. Truck worked well, gas was a struggle.

Truck drove like it was about to fall apart. We were not sure whether we would make it to our destination. I am certain the lady in the rental office had no idea about the driving condition of the truck. It definitely needs to be serviced.

Had issues with the pick up site and my tow dolly not being available when it was reserved. Had to pick that up in another state which cost me my time and money.

The staff at checkout and return were fantastic. The truck (16') was well used. Check engine light was on when we picked it up (fuel cap?) and passenger side mirror's curb view mirror was broken. Cab was quiet and comfortable.

Reservation and service staff great. But the vehicle was in really rough shape; was not really safe to drive as it was missing mirrors and had broken light covers. I should have refused based on safety but I figured I could manage (which I did). Engine was fine. Great, comfortable ride. Not too expensive to gas up.

Horrible experience. I rented a truck online three days prior to my move. I received no notification that the truck was not available until I arrived the morning of my move. I called customer service which I was on the phone for 2 hours and the manager just kept making excuses that "things happen and should just calm down". Once I spoke to their Regional manager the following week, the investigation led to the truck being at the location the entire time( the manager and his associate were just too lazy to wash, clean, and prep the truck). My first and very last experience with Budget.

The Budget Truck we received had almost 200K miles on it. It was a total dog, and struggled going up hills. Thank God we did not have a mountain pass to go over. It took forever to get up to speed which was dangerous at times trying to merge into freeway traffic. The headlights were very dim which made night travel more challenging. Overall, not happy with this moving truck.

Budget texted me two days before my scheduled move to let me know that the catalytic converters of their trucks had been stolen and they could no longer honor any reservations. I had to scramble to find a different company that had a similar truck for a Saturday morning.

BudgetTruck called to tell me there is no truck 16 hours before pickup. I had movers coming whom I was paying by the hour! Then the dude tried to negotiate with me a time that day when he can give me a truck. Called the customer center and then the truck was magically available at the time I booked it. The truck was in terrible condition, we though it won't make the trip and die on the highway. Dirty, too. Not moving dirty, but sticky stuff in the cabin dirty.

The confirmed my reservation, but then canceled it literally as I was standing in the building to pick it up. The woman their said she had no trucks and didn't know what was happening (but called around and helped me get a Uhaul instead, she was great)

Had reserved a 16 foot truck six weeks in advance. Confirmed the truck two days before pick up. At pickup all they could give me was a 12 foot truck. Extremely frustrating.

Picked up our reserved truck for a one way move across the country. Had to call three days in a row to "remind" the pickup dealer in Brooklyn that we were picking up on Sunday, a day they were actually closed as it turns out. Thankfully they were there. The cab was filthy. Had to wipe it down with disinfecting wipes since we were going to be in it for hours and days. The tire light was on when we picked it up. Didn't go off, but didn't have any tire issues. The cab was not a quiet ride, as signage on the doors advertise, but the a/c worked! Hoped the truck would get us where we were going, and it did.

Budget was very accommodating when I add to unexpectedly add a couple of extra days to my time due to the no show movers.

Moving Truck plus trailer for my car. Would highly recommend. The price was a little high because i spent about 300 in insurance but with a long distance move it was needed. It was still the most cost effective company.

Just rented two trucks.

I was taking advantage off due to no trucks available in California. What would have cost 2500 dollars cost close to 8,000. Obviously truck rentals was not their main business and there were not helpful at all in getting our car trailer connected to the truck. In fact they had parked the trailer over bushes and it took two us quite a time to loosen up the trailer and get it connected. The truck was dirty. The car trailer was all dented and actually lost a tire in the desert The road service at that time was terrible it took. We broke down at 6:00 in 107 degrees. they arrived at 1:00 am, we were forced to sleep in our trucks in night time temps of 94 degrees due to no hotel rooms available. The trucks cab had hard knocking sounds in the roof top that lasted for long durations. They also forgot to give me the dolly I paid for. The good news was the smiling face and help from the Budget personnel in Murfreesboro.

We rented through Costco to get the discount. The truck was old & the cab and door leaked when it rained. I was worried about mechanical problems, but we had none! Next time, I'll try a different company.

They did give us a $50 refund. However, they never called us about the stuff that the movers did not get off the truck. We ended up getting charged 60 bucks for that.

The overpriced budget lived down to and below its title. No help with the trailer, the truck was unclean. Many miles of wear. Loud banging from windshear on roof of vehicle cab for much of the over 2,000 mile drive. Vehicle transport was all dented up and one tire burst in the middle of the california desert at 6:00 in the evening, 107 degrees outside. Free roadside, which has a few nice folks, took seven hours to get a person out to replace the tire. A second mishap of my own making in a larger city was quickly resolved however, so I do give raves to those who actually talk to you, even if after hours of waiting for the next person to answer. (Learned it was faster to place an on line report)

Easy truck rental. Ready when requested. Good condition for a NY to DC move. Truck rode well and AC was in excellent full force.

the truck was filthy inside (smelled like urine) we cleaned it all with clorox wipes and they were black. I know it is a truck but it was super gross

26' truck and flat haul trailer, both worked as they should, over 700 miles.

Honestly cannot say enough bad things about Budget. Will absolutely never be using them again. To start with, the local location where I picked up the truck was just hysterically bad. I tried calling the location *literally* 15 times because I had crucial, time-sensitive questions and they just flat-out never picked up the phone. We actually witnessed them outright ignoring calls while we were in the building. Beyond that, they were outright rude, didn't give me the hand-trucks that I paid for, and acted surprised when we demanded a refund for that. Driving the truck itself was just as bad. It was a Ford E-350 which had some of the worst handling and suspension I've ever experienced in a vehicle. With every tiny bump, the truck felt like it was about to collapse in on itself. In fact, about 30 minutes into the drive, I drove over a slightly bumpy stretch of road (the kind of thing you wouldn't even think twice about in another vehicle) and it rattled the truck so badly that the airbag light came on. Dealing with that ended up costing so much time that I wasn't able to get to the truck drop-off location in time. They had the audacity to actually charge me the extra day, too! Just do yourself a favor and don't bother.

Worst rental company ever. A Month in advance I reserved an 18' truck. When I showed up all they had was a 12 footer. They offered no assistance to correct the error they made. They asked me if I was willing to drive 50 miles to pick up the correct truck and would not offer any other option. When I protested they cancelled my reservation. Terrible customer service. When I reluctantly took the 12 footer they over charged me! After the move (which took 3 trips due to the small truck), Budget Customer service was no help. I requested a supervisor 7 different times and NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK!. NEVER use budget Truck rental ! simply a terrible experience.

Originally got a truck that was too small. They were able to upgrade the truck for no additional charge, same day.

NEVER AGAIN. Made res for 12' truck on 5Jul, Chicago to Baltimore. Turns out, no truck avail on the 5th. I was forced to cancel my booking with Allstar Movers. They earliest a truck might be avail was 9Jul. I had to rebook for 12Jul as I had to work 7-10Jul in Baltimore. But because Budget had no idea when they COULD get me a truck, I had to skip work in Baltimore and remain in Chicago to push them to find me a truck. I had to be out of my house in Chicago by the 15th. They found a 16' truck (which I advsd would work - and probably be a better bet) that would be avail on 8Jul. So I rehired Allstar movers on 24hours notice (and they obliged me!). As soon as I drove off the lot I noticed the Check Engine light was on. I pulled over and called the location to advs. I was told that it would be no problem, that all their trucks needed an oil change but there was no one to do it. I continued home with the truck because I had no option not to. The movers came and we loaded truck. Next morning I called Budget to advs them that Engine light was on. They asked if I wanted it checked. I said yes. A mechanic arrived in late afternoon and immediately said that truck needed to be towed and was only operating on 6 cylinders. He started a case for me. Road side assistance called at 4:00pm (Friday) to say they were NOT authorizing a new truck. If I wanted a new truck I needed to unload the full 16' truck and drive it back to location and ASK for another one. I told them I was advsd by their mechanic that it needed to be towed. She was EXTREMELY rude. NO NEW TRUCK she said. And she WOULD NOT let me talk to her supervisor. It was now 4:15pm on Friday. I jumped in my car to go back to rental location and they were closed even though the hours indicate that they should have still been open. They are closed over the weekend. So now I have a fully loaded truck that their contracted mechanic said needed to be towed, and Roadside assistance telling me I was not getting a new truck. And my location not even open now till Monday. I had NO IDEA what to do. I have called the 800 number probably 10 times now and they do ABSOLUTELY nothing. I was on hold for 26min one time waiting for a Budget supervisor. I gave up. I had taken out full insurance so I decided I had to start driving to Baltimore or Budget would charge me for not returning truck in Baltimore on Monday. So I drove a very loud truck with the CHECK ENGINE light on the entire time. I spent over $250 in gas which, had the engine been maintained, it would have likely cost me much less. I plan to report them to the BBB and I will pursue whatever avenues are open to me to recoup my costs for this abominable experience with Budget.

The truck was in good operating condition. We filled the truck to its maximum capacity, it appeared! No Budget person advised me about truck size. It was my own estimation and my own choice of truck size. I was not informed if I had EZ-Pass facility with the truck for traveling on I-95 in Maine. Billing with Budget is always confusing. I do not remember EVER receiving a final billing statement.. Only by checking my credit card charges was I able to retrieve my final total of rental costs. Scam? Sham? Victimization? I'll never know! Just "pay up, then shut up!"

Wheel had a lot of play and air conditioner didn't work

Great service. Everything went well. We traveled from California to Florida. using a 16 ft truck. Budget helped to make the move positive with outstanding service. Highly recommend this company.

The young man representing the company seemed confused that we were there for a rental truck - not a car. He had difficulty finding our reservation. I had the paperwork, and he gave us a truck with almost 200,000 miles on it for an interstate move from Florida to Pennsylvania. The A/C was not working very well, and he didn't seem all that concerned (the temperature was in the high 90s). We explained that we had a three day trip back, and after departing the lot for a stop at Walmart, we returned to the rental site, as the A/C didn't work at all. An alternate truck was provided (this one had just under 70k miles on it). The A/C was checked to make certain it worked, but the cargo portion of the truck was very dirty. He reluctantly cleaned it out after it was brought to his attention. We are currently on our way back to Pennsylvania, so I can't provide additional information about any issues we may have between now and arrival at our final destination. His colleague was much more engaged with our concerns. I believe her name was Demelza. She was very helpful and was instrumental in having a different truck assigned after our issues with the first one. THANK YOU!!
