Fairly pleased with Pods. One problem was that you deal with both the national company and the local facility, and the two don't always communicate the same information. At one point the local storage facility canceled my container, telling me by voice mail, meanwhile the national company wasn't aware of this. I got it straightened out with a very helpful person at the (national) customer service department.
Charged the full monthly fee even though we returned it after 18 days. billed the full month because we had it for more than ten days. We requested earlier delivery to our new address, but the request was declined. No need in trying to reason with the phone representative. It's pointless. This move was not one for our record books!
I will not use PODS again. PODS messed up everything and it would take too long to detail all the issues. I had to extend my hotel stay and change my airline flight. The last POD that was delivered was extremely hard to open and come to find out it was the lock that was bent and kept hanging up on the side of the container. It took the guys 15 minutes just to get it to the point that they could get the lock on it, Don't know if it will even open again. Whenever you call PODS they answer right away but if you need to talk to a supervisor you will be put on hold indefinitely and then be disconnected. A POD was picked up when it shouldn't have been yet. I chose PODS so I could get a headstart on packing but I do not plan to ever use them again at least with a moving company they come in, pack, load, and transport all in one day.
I could have done a better job at planning which may have alleviated some of the cost, but would consider a moving company if there is a next time. We ended up needing two pods, which were delivered on two different days which means they will be delivered on two different days. Not the most convenient.
