My POD was good, but the company seems pretty unprofessional - I'd get an email saying I owed money, but my online account showed paid in full. When I called to confirm this email wasn't some phishing scam, the customer service person couldn't find my reservation, so they gave up and started trying to create an entirely new reservation before I hung up.
We were happy with almost everything about our PODS experience. The only issue we had was with the pick-up time from our old home. The automated system called and informed me that they would be picking up between 12:45pm and 3:45pm. I was vacuuming the house before loading the vacuum into the PODS container and when I went outside to put it in at 11:30am, it was already gone.
The movers were terrific. The POD was dropped in our neighbors driveway and after much discussion with the local POD servicer, they came back and moved it to the right driveway. The only thing tough for me was to judge how much time it would take to pack and load. I scheduled 4 hours for packing and we only needed three. I scheduled 4 hours for loading and only needed two. However, the moving/packing company still charged me for the full hours, even though we didn't use them.
The PODS container was entirely too small! I relied on the PODS customer service to detail how may PODS we would need, they suggested one, so we only ordered one. On the day of our move, we were scrambling to rent other trucks etc to get all of our stuff to our final destination. PODS failed in properly assessing our needs. Other than that, the concept of a POD really is a fantastic idea. So my poor rating is based SOLEY on improper fact finding by PODS to recommend the appropriate number of PODs needed.
We just moved 2 rooms plus household goods since we were downsizing. Originally had planned on using a regular moving company but changed our minds after reading horror stories that some people had. We packed our own goods and hired someone to load and unload the PODS. The big movers need to get a handle on what their contractors are doing.
PODS delivered their container on time when they said. The next day they picked it up on time.....interesting process the PODzilla. Only hiccup was the initial contact as the girl I spoke with seemed like she was new to the job (had to ask alot of questions to someone in the back ground) and ordered an EMPTY POD pickup the next day (instead of the full one for delivery to their storage area). This mistake was noticed by the gentleman I spoke with the night before to confirm delivery and pickup. PS- I was not moving, just putting furniture in storage for a few home upgrades
