We choose POD as a last minute decision because of contractor delays at the house we were moving into and the moving company we hired could not store our belongings. Also, when we chose a POD Container, we under estimated the size and had to order another one at the last minute. It was delivered and the first one taken away the same day and the second POD was picked up when scheduled. It actually was rather close to the date we had to be out of the house and it was nerve wracking, but it all worked out well. I have to say the containers were both clean, and the drivers were very polite and respectful of our property, everything we ordered to be included, such as the blankets and pad locks were included. Customer service during booking was very helpful when scheduling the pod. Although, if you have a lack of communication with your significant other, and you do not know when the pod is to be delivered, there is no way they can tell you or give you an idea of when the pod will be delivered, or contact the driver to find out. It would have been nice, but, it all worked out fine. I hope to never move again, so not I hope that I never have to use them again!
John and Andre did a fantastic job! They came a day early when we requested it of them and brought all of the tools necessary to make the move happen for us. They never stopped for a break and took great care to secure our important items using packing blankets and straps. We will definitely be calling them the next time we need to have something moved.
PODS was great in the beginning but then I needed another POD to finish my move and they made the experience EXCRUCIATING. Customer Service Rep (Ben) next morning (after they could not tell me the night before if I would EVEN GET a 2nd POD the next day) HUNG UP on me after I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was THOROUGHLY STRESSED OUT and NOT EASY to deal with; however, people who provide customer service for a living with highly stressful situations such as a cross-country move must never hang up on a customer. Not acceptable, regardless of how much I yelled (and I did). The lovely man (Don) who picked up my completely filled POD and delivered the second POD the next day could not have been nicer or more accommodating, thus my average review (horrible telephone experience; lovely "in-person" service).
We rented 2 16 foot PODs for our 1876 sq ft house. Mind you we threw out a ton of stuff and made 18 trips to Goodwill. OK, so I learned the hard way you have to call PODs well in advance to deliver your POD. A PODs call center guy initially told me the PODs would be moved to San Diego shortly after they took the full pod away. Not true. So when I found a house to rent and called, the PODs were still in San Jose. That meant would couldn't get the 1st POD for 10 days. We thought the PODs were already in San Diego. My wife went nuclear on me.
Customer service for PODS was unsatisfactory. POD did arrive in good condition though. Cost was excessive compared to UBOX that I had shipped; UBOX personnel have customer service nailed - great communication all along the way - from timing of drop off at initial location to drop off/pick up of container from final destination. Will definitely use UBOX again for any moving needs
Service overall has been really good and responsive. However, originally I was lead to believe it would take ~8 days to deliver my pod once I had a new house/address. Instead, it will take 17 days. That ~week is mostly an light inconvenience. But I could have planned it better. It also would be nice if it were esier to get a quick and dirty quote online.
The driver, James, came out to me in south Florida to unload and load my POD. I have to say that he was the most professional, cordial, and friendly person that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Although I only used 1 POD, it held WAY more than I had expected and the customer service was fantastic. I will definitely use them again for future moves.
The local Raleigh PODS company was FANTASTIC! I, however, am NOT happy with the corporate office and how they handled the gross error on their end. Listen to the tapes from May 23 at 10:58 a.m. Corporate also promised me 20% discount for the entire unit and moving expenses. This conversation took place May 28 at 8:00 pm.
my container has not been dropped off at final stop yet, but all went extremely well when it was dropped at my house for loading. The gentleman who delivered it made sure it was placed properly and left a walk way open. I would use again. also, the phone calls in to Pods to set things up and modify were very good also, staff was very helpful and guided me through a long move... Thank you Pods
My only complaint is that the original customer service representative at PODS told me that they were very flexible. He told me if I order a '16 one week and another for the following week. After I loaded the first '16 had the flexibility to change to a '12 afterwards before they delivered the second POD. It turns out that this was not the case and I ended up having the take the second '16 because PODs does not allow '12 for long distance moves. So much for flexibility!! Seems to me that the customer should be able to order whatever the company has available. If it's not available then it is simply a supply chain problem within the PODs organization. A policy of not allowing '12 for long distance does not support their advertisement of flexibility.
The POD had to be backed in over a narrow concrete bridge. The driver easily maneuvered the POD over the bridge and positioned the container without difficulty. We chose PODS as opposed to conventional movers due to the length of time in storage and uncertain delivery date. Customer service was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Review so far is great. There were three drivers involved. One delivered the first POD. Harvey deliver the second POD, also picked up the first POD. Another driver picked up the second POD. Sorry, but the names of the other two did not stick with me. They were all courteous, called first, and arrived when they said they would.
The POD is still in my yard and probably will be for a couple of months or until I find another house. As of now the only items in the POD are the containers I pack with dishes, etc. There is still some room left and it will probably be full when i do move. I will have more helpers come and load the remaining containers. Great people
Since I needed to store my belongings for a few months storing my items with PODS and then having them move the containers to my destination just seemed like the best solution. I'm so glad I called. The customer service is excellent. The individual booking the POD was broke down the costs and answered every question with efficiency. When I realized on moving day that I would need another smaller POD the person I spoke to went out of her way to contact my local PODS warehouse to see if they could expedite the container. I would definately use PODS again!
