Ammy helped me at checkout. The checkout app was not working to dispute the damage on the passenger door that was not marked and said when I returned it would not be an issue. The app sometimes has issues. When I returned, the check in crew said they were aware of the preexisting damage as Ammy ensured me would be the case upon return. Checkout was easy and the crew was polite and all went well. The truck had no issues but could use some Freon.
Miserable experience. Will never give them another dollar. Truck was in poor condition (cracked sideview mirrors that you couldn't see out of) and felt like it was about to break down at any point - it felt very unsafe. We rented dollies and furniture pads and were told upon our arrival that they "ran out" so we had to do the whole move without dollies, making it take so much longer but we also could not extend the truck rental. The woman was so rude, couldn't care less about anything and acted extremely unprofessional. I don't understand how they are still in business.
At 5:00 pm the day before I was notified my truck wouldn't be available the next morning at the reservation time the next morning (7:30 am). I had to scramble to find another truck. I found a truck, but none of the locations had the dolly and the pads I needed and they didn't tell me until I arrived to pick up the truck. I spoke with a lady at Uhaul 800 number who was rude and quite frankly a bitch.
Reserved truck with a pick-up on Saturday at 10:00, U-Haul called at 9:30 and changed the pickup site. Went to the pick-up site, they were closed. Called u-haul and was told to call 1-800 U-haul to get things corrected. Waited 49 minutes on hold with 1-800 U-Haul, the only truck they had was over an hour away and I could pick it up at 2:00. Picked up the first truck, flashing engine light, and the A/C did not work, they gave me a second truck. Process delayed me by over 5 hours, not very happy.
When I showed up for my original rental, they said that my reservation was for 11am, but the reservation I made was for 12:30 (which was reflected on all my email confirmations). They said "oh well, we gave your truck to someone else, and there's no other trucks available today". Completely ruined my moving plans, had to reschedule to another day. Thankfully they did have a truck available a few days later at a different location, so I was eventually able to move out, but not after a lot of frustration and rescheduling.
I made a reservation a month in advance and get a call the night before I'm suppose to move that they don't have a truck available for me. I was told to either drive 100 miles for the nearest truck or to push my move back 2 days until one was a available. The corporate office was very insensitive to the situation. I was relocating for a job and missed my first day of work.
Uhaul changed our pick-up location on us, which is fine, but they didn't tell us, which was not fine. Additionally, they changed our drop-off to Queensbury, NY, when we told them we were going to Queens, which resulted in that $755 charge which we are still trying to get a refund for. Horrid experience with them overall. They also did not have any furniture blankets for us, despite our having reserved them.
