Nice truck. Easy process

Great truck! Rode well and easy to maneuver.

We used a 2 bedroom truck and auto transport to drive from IL to NJ. Overall, a good experience. Be prepared to have an audio cable for any music due to horrible speakers from the radio. We drove with no music except our phones. There is no cruise control, so we had to take frequent breaks. The ride was pretty smooth and the interstate trucks are much nicer than the local ones.

I had made reservation early December for a 24ft. truck. I received an email the night before I was to pick up truck with order to go to another location to get the truck. The next morning went to the 2nd location and they had no knowledge of the reservation and no truck. The manager (Reed I think was his name) kindly looked on line to find a 24ft. truck and nothing was in Bend but one was about an hour away. I could not go there as my ride was a city bus and the bus had left while I was trying to get the mess taken care of. I started crying and was at a lost of what to do. The manager was very helpful and took care of my complaint to regional U-Haul. The complaint was responded with a third location where the truck would be delivered in an hour. Truck did show up but I had problems with the rental due to types of payment the rental place had. Approximately was 3 hrs. later. I have not used U-Haul before and if I was to move again, would not. I was disappointed that the other companies I have used before did not go to Spokane without a cost that was 3 times more than U-Haul. If you can, find another company.

They switched my pick-up location the day before my move from a U-Haul store to an affiliate (car repair place that rents trucks). I booked due 7:30am pickup but the new place didn’t open until 8:00am. That’s when my movers were arriving. Also I had to stop at the original U-Haul store for supplies because the other place didn’t carry any. All that cost me about 45min when the movers were on-the-clock. They managed to finish in the scheduled 2 hours though so it didn’t cost me thankfully.

Picking up the truck was a bit of a hassle - the first truck didn't work and the second truck didn't have gas so we had to stop to fill up. They reimbursed the cost of gas. We used the next size up that was recommended for our move and that worked well. We would probably use Uhaul again.

We needed a bigger truck. Got a 17', but a larger truck was needed for one trip.

Pick up and drop off was a breeze.

Although the Customer Service agents were very kind and understanding and gave me a total of $100 refund, The truck was not at location when picking up. Drove 8 miles to another location, but they were closed. Drove to another location 15 miles away. Truck was in the mud and "clean enough". Drove home, and the passenger mirror was vibrating loose, had to call service and they fixed, but was a 5 hr wait (not a big deal, we were loading the truck). While driving from Cincinnati to Orlando, the truck vibrated horribly when going over 60 MPH. Found out that the cause was "mud in the tires". Not a great experience, however, the savings from U-Haul vs a moving company made it worth it. $2,000 vs $8,000, your gonna have to expect issues, so this wasn't so bad.

Well, the check-in process is difficult. Had to be done online, and kept getting "server not responding" errors. Process involves you agreeing to the existing state of the truck, taking pictures is you disagree with the comments, etc. You upload a picture of your drivers license, then they need a second point-of-contact that they can call to verify it's you who is checking out the truck. I understand it's necessary, but it's a timely process, and when it's biting into your rental period by 20 minutes, it gets frustrating. Not UHaul's fault, but the place I rented through did NOT give me all of the equipment that I'd paid for - rented an appliance dolly, a furniture dolly, and 6 moving blankets. All that was on the truck was the appliance dolly. Fees for the equipment is per day, by the way. So $5/day for the moving blankets makes $15 for the 3-day rental period. Not a lot of money, but I had to go buy my own blankets and furniture dolly to augment the one appliance dolly they gave me. All complaints aside, the truck started every time I turned the key, it hauled the furniture, and it did the job. For a total of ~$350 for a 3-day rental, it was acceptable.

"The Worm Bookstore" of Sedona, AZ was great to work with. Granted me an extra day on my U-Haul truck which I ended up needing at no cost.

Rear tires were so wobbling and out of balance terrible ride

The truck handled great. I really over-rented blankets. It would be great if they would help a little bit in deciding the equipment to rent.

Our experience with u haul was good.

Uhaul is always good, but this time, when we went to pick up the 26' truck in Farmington, MO., it was parked in the muddy grass. The truck got stuck in the mud on a Sunday when the store wasn't open, and we had to go through the pains of finding another truck. Despite the hassle, Uhaul took care of us and found another truck as quickly as possible. Todd at Uhaul store on Lemay Ferry in South County St. Louis, took outstanding care of us.

The 26' truck was in very good shape and customer service was helpful and pleasant.

Uhaul bailed me out of a jam here. Had a reservation with Budget, two months in advance. They text me four days before the move and tell me they're not going to have a truck for me. Unbelievable! Fortunately Uhaul was able to accommodate me. Cost about $200 more, but it was probably a much better truck than I would have had from Budget. Uhaul's no contact, online pick up still needs a little work though.

Awful customer service.

The truck was acceptable in that it was what I rented and it was clean. The truck was in rough shape though and didn't require pressing the brake between park and reverse which is a safety concern.

Fairly new 12’ truck (13000 miles). Cab too short for tall driver and seat unadjustable. Staff very nice tho online interaction difficult and unsatisfactory.

Truck in good condition - worked out great!

I paid a third of the cost Penske was going to charge me! And it was easy to get in touch with U Haul. Penske was impossible to reach.

I think I lucked out with a relatively new 26 foot truck that had cruise control which made my solo 1000 mile trip much easier.

The truck was not clean inside or out.

The truck was space was good. The engine light came on 100 miles away from take off, but nothing went terribly wrong.

Michael was good at communicating, texted me ahead of time to let me know when they would arrive as requested, arrived on time, and worked efficiently. He and his helper were both extremely pleasant and took good care with the furniture. After the 2000+ mile drive, some of the hardware had rattled loose and he voluntarily tightened up the screws/cams - very helpful. They even swept out the truck. Would definitely use again

Truck sounded like crap but did its job.

Very easy rental and condition was satisfactory. Was just what I needed for the job.

No problems with the U-Haul truck and car trailer. 26 foot truck is big, but handles very well. We looked into pods, but the truck was the cheapest and most convenient way to load quickly the morning of the move and be able to quickly unload a couple of days later into our new house. Highly recommend hiring help to load and unload your truck! They're professional and save your back!

Only thing that was difficult was that drop off was by someone different than who rented the truck. It became more complicated to close out acct bc I received the email, but someone else was dropping off the truck.

Truck was very old and rattled loudly. A bit quieter when loaded. Seat belt needed repair and lock did not work. Otherwise we made the move and got it done.

They don’t tell you that their truck isn’t waterproof nor do they tell you that, if you’re going to go through rain, you should waterproof the things that you own. I lost several books and had several other things come out of the NEW moving boxes, purchased from Uhaul, disintegrate from water damage.

Every time we have chosen UHaul to move it has been a very possitive experience.
