My local operations supervisor was terrific. After the container was delivered, I noticed there was a dent in the front wall bad enough that sunlight was shining into the interior and it would have let water in as well. I called and he had the driver come back and put thick foam tape inside and out.
The pick up at my house was excellent. In my new place I am waiting two days now for the delivery and the communication has been very poor. I’ve only known there was a delay because I called. They’ve given me five different times so far and no container has yet arrived. It is now 8:30 pm. of the second day.
PackRat was chosen to provide 3 8x16 containers for my move. They placed these cubes within the parking lanes designated by the CubeSmart manager, without damage. The driver provided locks and demonstrated how to use the doors and where to attach tie down straps to hold materials in each section in place. They arrived on schedule and the same driver would return with one contaniter at a time. Great care was taken to protect my posessions. The containers were taken to the conditioned storage facility in Manassas, VA and they were loaded on a truck and quickly set out to my new home. Support was great and I received timely communications throughout the process.
Michael Thomas (Greensboro, NC Office) and Gabby at Pack Rat were very helpful, very good with their communication about arrival times and cost. In addition the gentleman that dropped off the pods was very respectful and on time. The gentleman that picked up the pods was very nice as well and even came back later in the day to pick up my second pod because (of course) we had more items to add! My all around experience was very positive and everything went better than expected and could not have been easier. I highly recommend Pack Rat!
As stated above when the 16' POD arrived is looked smaller than we expected. My huband measured it and it was 20% smaller than expected as compared to the website's dimensions. As we read more closely, the description did say "outside dimensions." When we spoke to customer service my husband explained that the website is there for the customer. Customers need to know the inside dimensions and many would do what we did; assume the measurements shown are for the interior. We suggest strongly that the website be accurate to what the customer needs to know.
