The PackRat container service has been flawless so far! I got things booked, container arrived, pick up completed all as promised with no fuss and good communication along the way. I'm having them store the container while renovating our new place across country so I'll try to provide an additional review post-delivery.
Wonderful company! I needed two more containers than originally reserved. The manager at the company was great, understanding, and accommodated my immediate need for the extra containers. Mike in scheduling was amazing, despite being short delivery drivers and a full schedule, he made sure to pick up the two full containers we had and delivered the two extra containers that same day. He was excellent with communication through the whole process! Definitely would recommend, this amazing company!
Misleading to dishonest quotes and delivery times, and then not getting our things for the better part of a month. We were supposed to have a 7 day delivery from pick up to drop off which they said when reserving, but knew full well that it wasn't possible to do because they work business days only. Our 13 days then turned to 23 days. Daily calls to find our things, had to pay for moving help twice because they delivered our things separately and not together like they said they'd be. Incurring unexpected expenses because or things did not show up when expected. I would NOT RECOMMEND.
This1 move is the second time we have used Pack Rat containers for our move. Scheduling the containers was easy and the process was very thorough. I had the phone extension of the person I worked with to assure contact with one person throughout the process. Delivery of the containers took more time than we anticipated. Only one container could be dropped off at a time so we waited over 7 hours to have all of them delivered to our home. Thankfully, we had not planned to pack them on the same day.
Pack Rat did not deliver the containers as ordered, and then claimed that they had nothing in their schedule. If they did then their customer service staff did not enter it properly. The delay was four days. They then claimed they couldn't pick up the empty containers in a timely manner, this took 5 days. The only good thing about their work was the delivery and pick up driver, he was excellent.
I would recommend anyone wishing to use this service, that they get a written quote for all steps in the process of the order completion. *meaning initial drop location cost, initial pickup location cost, destination location drop cost, destination location pickup cost. If your item is housed in the companies warehouse for any length of time, make sure the quote includes that additional cost. The management and phone support with this company leaves a lot to be desired. Hours spent on various phone calls, being tossed from one department to another. When I spoke to a manager he was no help at all. I let some time pass and called back and received a very nice gentleman that helped with all of my concerns and saved me over $1000. I will not use this company again and I definitely would not refer anyone to them. The only one exception is the drivers. They were great!
Good service overall with competitive prices. My items made it from cross-country travel in one-piece and it was on-schedule. However, there was a bit of confusion with my order, where I paid extra for a morning drop-off but I was told multiple times by their staff that they didn't see it in their system. Eventually, they decided to accommodate my morning drop-off request after phone call correspondence. Their online website was inaccessible so any service updates throughout the process had to be handled over the phone with ~30 minute hold times.
