PODS provided efficient service and the POD was placed exactly where i had instructed. There was a bit of miscommunication on the rental of the moving blankets (they were not provided with the delivery of my pod and when I called to find out what happened I was advised they ran out of blankets and they would refund me. Then they told me I could submit a new order to purchase them, although I only wanted to rent them so I went out and found them cheaper somewhere else just days before my move).
The team showed up on time. In fact, I was a bit delayed and they patiently waited for 15 minutes without charge. Outstanding! They were prepared and worked VERY hard to complete the job in 2 hours. They treated all my belongings with care. Despite their exhaustion (I was the third job on a Friday) both guys remained cheerful and motivated. I would highly recommend them. They helped me unload a 16' POD.
This is the second time we used PODS for a long distance move and would indeed use them again. It is easy, affordable, and beats paying for gas, driving the truck, and the hassle of parking it. The drivers are great and the customer service is top-notch. Both times are items arrived in perfect condition, exactly how we packed them.
Pods seems like a good idea but in reality, not good at all. Algorithms used to compute space is way off. Drivers late (very late) for original pick up and also very late for final pick up. Supposed to deliver both pods on Saturday. Had moving crew scheduled for Sunday. Only delivered one pod. Said the other one wouldn't fit in the driveway so would be delivered Monday. Rescheduled moving company and another driver delivered the other pod and parked it in driveway once straightened the first one! Very very bad experience and no one at headquarters ever asked how they could make it right.
We had one 16' POD for some of our things when we staged our home for sale in March. Then in June we had a second 16' POD delivered for the rest of our stuff, but it wasn't big enough. This was a cross country move for myself and my partly disabled husband and we had to catch a plane the next day to move to our new home thousands of miles away. We feel PODs customer service should have advised us at the beginning that based on the size of our home and our furniture, etc, that we should have reserved another POD just in case. They failed to do so, and when I called in desperation the day the movers told us the POD wasn't big enough, one of the reps even had the nerve to tell me that we should just give some of our things away! Things we worked hard for, some of which are irreplaceable. We were counting on them to advise us, and ended up with an awful situation. It was only with the help of the moving company that we were able to find a solution to get the rest of our things to our new home. Maybe we just had a couple of bad customer service reps, but we would hesitate to use them again.
