After contacting several professional moving companies and comparing the exorbitant pricing and fees, I decided that a cheaper method of moving my household was necessary. A quote was requested from PODS, which fit my budget and timeframe much better. Every customer service representative I spoke with was kind and courteous. I had to make several changes( a couple being last minute) and each time I called the process was easy and accommodated with no problems. I highly recommend the use of PODS for moving, and would use again.
The Pods were delivered on time and the drivers were fine. HOWEVER, when I made the reservation the person taking the reservation insisted that I would only need 2 pods even though I asked for 3. Big mistake! I was correct and unfortunately had enough stuff to fill a third pod. I called the company immediately when the movers determined that there would not be enough space for all of my belongings. The operator told me that there would be nothing available until August and there was nothing that could be done. She did try to contact the local Pod office but they never got back to me. I was left with my belongings and unable to find help at the last minute. If the person taking my reservation had worked under the old saying, "The customer is always right." I would not be in this situation 2 days before the closing of my house.
Convenient for the need to move out and have items in storage before I could move into my next place. Logistics were easy to schedule online and support staff helpful in confirming times. Be cautious that the POD needs a space larger than the POD itself as the delivery/pickup require moving space and that the POD won't be in climate control so pack accordingly to not have melt worries.
Disclaimer: The rating I provided isn't accurately correct, as I can't exactly provide a "true" rating just yet (as I scheduled my POD to arrive in NYC 7 days after the pick-up date from Tampa). However, the container drop off was on time and I did receive a 1hr courtesy call in advance. If all does goes well (pray), then I will update my PODS rating to "Excellent" (from Average). PODS provided efficient service and the POD was placed exactly where i had instructed. There was a bit of miscommunication on the rental of the moving blankets (they were not provided with the delivery of my pod and when I called to find out what happened I was advised they ran out of blankets and they would refund me. Then they told me I could submit a new order to purchase them, although I only wanted to rent them so I went out and found them cheaper somewhere else just days before my move).
