PODS and their drivers were great. The pods I used were clean and the doors opened fairly easily. The drivers let me know they would be arriving shortly and made sure my pods were left in the proper location. When my first pod was delivered to my new home, the driver made sure the door would open (since things can jam it in transit). I'm grateful he checked the door, as it was indeed jammed. He spent a few minutes and managed to get it open. He then verified that the contents were mine. PODS customer service was very good as we dealt with transportation delays due to major winter storms. My only comment here is I received an automated call regarding delivery of my first pod on its original date. I had rescheduled this to several days later as my driveway was blocked due to snow. I called customer service who verified the call was in error.
I like the concept of PODs and the containers themselves were great. I’m able to load well and used 95% of the volume so maxed our value. I was initially overcharged and had to call after booking to get the deal I was originally promised which took several weeks to straighten. But they made good eventually. Overall I feel it is too expensive for monthly rentals, but the usual truck move and timing didn’t work for us so the cost was necessary. We did get access to the PODs several times before shipping and that went smooth, just had to schedule ahead a full day or two. I would maybe use them again if moving a far distance, but the cost gives pause for anything short term. And my new location limits street placement so is far less convenient than when I had a driveway to put them.
I felt like they were misleading about how much the Pod could pack. buyer beware and all that but i felt very mislead and I did ask several times trying to understand what size pod we needed. Now we will get another pod. The best thing about them is that they will move the Pod and store it. So I guess it all comes out in the wash, but stressful.
I have had nothing but trouble from PODS. They changed their delivery window, missed their delivery window, had inaccurate scheduling and availability information on their site, poor customer service. The drivers were friendly and helpful but that's about the only good thing I can say. I will not be using their service again.
