Moved from AZ to FL. Kept my belongings at the POD warehouse for 11 months. Due to Covid, I was unable to purchase a home in FL and got laid off. I never unpacked in FL. I then shipped the PODs from FL to my home in CO. THE GOOD: It was convenient in AZ to bring both PODs to my home and pack all my items at one time. Pods had the crates on time in FL. I was able to "stage" my Pods for FREE multiple time in FL to get items out and put Items back into the crates. THE BAD: When I found out I was getting laid off, I called PODS and got a quote. By December I called again and got a different price quote. I actually scheduled in January and the price changed again. Of course by the time I scheduled it was the most expensive quote they gave me. Another thing is every time I called the representative would tell me something different about the placement of the PODS in CO. One said I could have both PODS in CO. The next one told me, I would have to purchase a permit for street parking that would cost me $ 200. The last girl I spoke to said No parking the Pods on the street at all. You would think all 3 of these REPS would have the same information. Then when the POD was delivered the driver told me he didn't think I had room in my driveway for one POD. He tells me I will have to get a UHAUL and unpack my POD at the warehouse. I just about lost it. He got me all upset before he even tried to put the POD in the driveway. The POD did fit in my driveway. So there is some good and bad with Pods. It is very expensive. To save money, you will need to move the old fashion way with a UHAUL.
Good product and service, but not very flexible with the dates/times and it is hard to talk directly to the location managing your move. It seems like a phone chain and not real clarity on any special request. As it turned out they did meet my needs but it took quite a bit of calling and following up to be sure my needs were understood and clear.
PODS is a great concept for moving from Point A to Point B. The initial person I spoke with was by far the Very Best Customer Service person I've ever talked to from any company in the last 30+ years!!! He outlined everything very clearly. After the POD arrived I realized I would need a 2nd one to load all of my belongings. That is when things fell apart... While POD #2 came the very next morning, the person I spoke with failed to request that both PODS be picked up on the same day to travel together. So this meant two different pick up and re-deliver dates, and needing to reschedule my helpers at the unload. The communication from the drivers at time of pick up and drop off is very good. I would use them again for any future move - just be sure to give yourself some wiggle room and double check all dates at delivery-load-redeliver-unload.
PODS service was super convenient. There were some issues with tracking dates on via the website, a longer than expected transport time. However, the staff I interacted with on the phone were all perfectly helpful and understood my needs. Would use again, assuming that the pricing right now is only a COVID-related surge rate. Not quite sure it's worth THAT much.
Friendly drivers willing to accommodate locations of dropping off container. Customer support was helpful but wish we would've had more time to load the container. 3 days to pack up all of your belongings and get into the POD wasn't long enough and thought 16 days of travel time from Michigan to Florida seemed excessive.
I have used PODS for all of my moves in the past five years. I have never had a problem with them until this time. I had a ton of damage to my belongings. I was very disappointed, even the POD on the outside had serious damage, I don't know what happened but it wasn't good. I still gave them a good rating as in the past they have been excellent and the guy who delivered my pods were friendly, and very quick.
