PODS was a godsend this time around. The initial delivery was right within the 3-hour window, the driver was great, and the POD was clean and ready to go. Likewise the pickup at the front end. I changed my delivery location by a few miles, which added to the price because of the change in warehouse delivery, but that was clearly explained by customer service. The agent who helped me arrange my final delivery and same-day pickup was great to work with and made sure that all my questions and all the questions of the warehouse manager were answered. The team that delivered and picked up today were just delightful to work with. They made sure the door would open (no small feat thanks to one corner of one piece that shifted an inch in transit!) and were back to pick up well within my allotted window at the apartment complex.
The container and truck were fine. The customer service was awful. I was sold the idea that the truck/container would be there at a certain time (2:30PM), but when I called day of around that time they said the truck actually had a 3 hr window. HOW CAN SOMEONE SCHEDULE MOVERS WITH A WINDOW LIKE THAT!!! Thankfully it arrived only an hr late, and the movers were very proactive and got a lot done without a truck, but that did mean alot of our stuff was in the street/sidewalk under no cover with an impending rainstorm NOT GREAT.
IT ALL WORKED WELL, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXCELLENT AND THOROUGH IN ALL ASPECTS OF RESPECTING THE CUSTOMER. MY DAUGHTER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PODS AS SHE USED THEM TO MOVE LAST YEAR AND SHE DOES RESEARCHING TO FIND A COMPANY LIKE PODS. I HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED THEM HIGHLY TO FRIENDS MOVING AND WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.
Great communication and ease of ordering. Emails and texts keeping me informed of payments and arrival. POD delivery arrived on time. However, using the online calculator for determining the size of POD, the one it said for us to order was too small. Because of this, I dropped the rating by one star.
Not clear on all the charges. Delivery person was rude and drove off with my container because he “did not have time to put it in the correct location” . It’s easy to get a POD but if there is a hiccup along the way they are not set up to fix the problem in a timely manner. Would not recommend for across the country moves.
Be careful about this company. The logic is sound and the prices are good. They send a lot of neat looking email to reassure you that everything is on tract but they did not follow through on calling me when they said they would and when I try to call them I get one of those “push one for this, push two for that” systems that didn’t include what I was calling about. They didn’t return my calls and still haven’t. I have a POD in my driveway right now and have no idea when they are coming to take it away and I have tried calling to no avail. If you can live with this type of customer service, they go for it. I rather like knowing that there are people behind all those glossy email and auto texts that they send. I think they have one tech person who makes them look good and there are really no people there. My container turned out to be too small and half my stuff is still in my garage and no one will return my call tonight. How happy do you think I am?
