PODS® Reviews
The company was so well-organized and I knew exactly what to expect based on their prompt explanations. There was no-second guessing. The delivery driver took extra care not to hurt my Mom’s plants when they first dropped off the POD. It was also very easy to change my plans when I discovered I would need to move sooner. A quick phone call to the company let me change my POD pick-up date and drop-off date. I’m also glad they allow for same day drop-off and pick-up as my apartment complex doesn’t allow PODS to remain overnight. A little spendy, but I highly recommend!
The guy who brought the two PODs was very courteous, skilled and efficient and the only reason I can't rate them higher was that I told him he needed to please go very slowly down the driveway through our neighbor's horse boarding facility since there were young children, animals and people about. It seems he went slowly when he could see people near the driveway, but when he could not visibly see them he sped up and went much too quickly again. Not the safest decision.
Too expensive and PODS did not help with any fees during Hurricane Irma. Not even a 5% discount. Nothing. Trust me, I asked for help. I lost my job and house during that time and they could’ve cared less. I had to keep my stuff in a POD for almost two years and pay insane monthly fees until our insurance company settled. I will not use them again. The drivers and deliveries were good. Customer service is lacking.
We were thrilled with our PODS experience. The city service department was very helpful in arranging everything for our complicated move. The driver showed up early and we weren't charged until the movers showed up a bit later. He was also very courteous over the phone. It went from being our biggest headache of a move to the easiest.
They are very timely to drop off and pick up their storage pods when scheduled. I carefully observed the recommended service that loaded my PODS and I’m convinced that they did a great job. Somewhere along the line there must have been a huge amount of movement and jostling because when unpacking on the other end, several items had been damaged. I have documented all this and will have to make a claim with PODS against the insurance that is provided. Again, not sure where the damage occurred and what could be done to reduce it.
My PODS container delivery was a disaster. I was moving from Tulsa to Los Alamos and was told to give 7 days notice prior to the date when I needed my PODS to arrive. I even told PODs that I had a specific date I expected to need them, but they said they had to stay in Tulsa prior to the move. When I called to have them shipped they said they needed 4 additional days because their office was only open 1 day out of the week due to COVID. After that delay the container was delayed again for 2 more weeks past the date it was promised!
