I've used Budget Truck rentals for many things over the years, e.g. to transport large canvases of art across town for my art business. This time I used them to move my home from Omaha to Santa Fe, rental a 26-ft truck one way. The team at Omaha, where I picked up the truck was great... but the team (one guy) at the end destination was not at all friendly and acted put-out at my arrival on the Monday morning when I returned the truck. In between, the truck ran 800 miles... in the middle of the trip the truck's RMP would rev without gaining speed. I was quite worried that I'd need to stop for repairs at the next city. But as quickly as the problem appeared, it disappeared. I was lucky. But wonder that the next person won't be so lucky.

It got the job done. -1 star for no cruise control. Truck govenor limited speed to 76mph which caused a few dangerous situations with 18 wheelers. -1 star for loud cab noise/wind. Door not properly sealed/missing insulation/weather stripping.

Fair cost, however the interior of the truck could have been cleaner. It was also obvious that the tank was truly not full, as the gauge dropped within 10 miles of leaving the rental company. It took nearly $15 to top it off to start the trip.

Lori at Chattanooga office was so very friendly and helpful. We had to add a day and it all went smooth and very reasonable!

I was very disappointed with my Budget Rental experience and even more disappointed after contacting customer service the truck they provided me to drive 800 miles was in terrible condition it should have never been rented for a long move such as the one I had and especially since I was by myself.

The strap to hold the tires did not work well and lucky the SUV did not fall off or cause a major accident.

Great value. A truck that works with zero extras, but its cheap. Beat the nearest competition by $200 in my area

Issue with lights on car hauler. Wipers were awful. Assistance at the drop off location was very poor.

The truck cab was extremely uncomfortable and the rental company was actually a gas station drop off, which by the time you get helped it's an hour later or more.

Good service on both sides of a 1 way move. The truck was well maintained but beginning to show a little age (just under 100K miles). I bounced around a lot when empty, once we got the load in it settled down and drove pretty well.

Not sure why but the agent gave me the oldest truck on his lot! It was filthy inside with a layer of dirt & leaves as though the previous renter had moved trees & branches. The drivers seat was completely worn through in the back so I was sitting on a metal bar. It ran OK and fortunately I only had to drive it less than 20 miles total so once I swept it out myself it worked out ok. I’ve had better trucks from Budget in the past so hopefully this was just an anomaly

The truck did the job, but it was noisy and there was no radio to help break up the journey.

Reserved a truck 3 days in advance and when I arrived at the location to pick up my truck they told me they were all sold out. Called the corporate number who told me to drive 2+ hours to pick up another one and did not offer any type of compensation for the inconvenience. Told them to cancel my order & I went with Penske, MUCH BETTER customer service, same price and SUPER accommodating to my short time frame.

Truck did the job, but was pretty dirty inside and out. Certainly wasn't charged for anything, and realize it's a moving truck after all, but maybe could have been wiped down just a little?

Normally, I have a great experience with budget. This time the truck was filthy and had a few minor dings, transmission issues going up hill, and they didn't have the truck and trailer ready on reservation date. The customer service was nice and their inventory management team helped out to locate the trailer closer to me for pick up. Although the truck sucked, the people made it a little better.

There were just things we weren't aware of; like the $300 hold on our credit card. The staff was nice and polite as we scrambled for things we didn't know we were required to have (we changed to a debit card and then they needed a bill in my husband's name)

By far the cheapest truck rental I could find for a one-way trip. My truck was not ready for pickup at the scheduled pickup time. I called customer service and they offered to find the same truck nearby, but the original truck arrived while I was waiting for customer service. The truck was handed to me very dirty, probably because they didn't want it to be later than it already was. I made my trip from southern California to Oregon, but I wish the windshield wipers had worked better, it was hard to see at times. At the end of my transaction, I was compensated for the truck being late at pickup, so that was nice.

Could have been cleaner, but it hauled a lot of stuff a long way and I never once felt nervous about it's performance

Cheap, which was good, but the "one way" truck they provided had the roof ripped open... they had others but deemed them to only be for local rentals. O well, at least we had nice weather.

Easy pick up and drop off for half the price of U-Haul.

Easy to work work with and half the price of U-Haul. Everything was ready when I arrived and drop off was easy.

I used a Dodge Van to move traditional washer & dryer; this was perfect because they were secure and out of the elements and the van was just the right size for these items

26' truck was nice and meet my needs.

Customer service was so-so and there's no onsite parking for personal vehicles.

The truck I rented was filthy on the outside, many dents, dings, and scapes and the windows could hardly be seen through. We had to stop early in our trip to buy window wipes to clean the interior of the windows. The center jump seat did not move all the way back or lay down which prevented us from carrying a cooler and snack bags with any comfort. The weatherstripping around the windows was not in good shape which made our entire 900-mile trip very noisy. We had to basically yell to each other over the top of the bags and cooler blocking our sight of each other. There was no floor space to put anything. The woman at the booking company was very nice and helpful. Use Budget because they offered an AARP discount. Would I use them again? Only if I had a selection of trucks to choose from to get the cleanest and least noisy.

Budget continues to be my go-to truck rental company. Their prices are fair and the flexibility of pick-up/drop-off is appreciated.

It was a clean truck very spacious.

Truck was disgusting at pick up and there were damages on the rental. I work for Enterprise and would never rent out a vehicle in such condition. I was miserable driving 15 hours with the condition the truck was in. The Budget agent did not leave the desk to show us any features of the truck or make sure we were comfortable before pulling off the lot.

They made a billing error, but we did get it corrected

I'm a first timer for renting things as such but it definitely was a waste of money, and will find a different way to do things next time.

They gave me a truck in which the door didn't close. I have pictures and video to prove it. Driving down the highway, the door would rattle like it were going to swing open. Terrifying. The cab was dirty and smelled like cigarettes, even found a cigarette in the ash tray. I called and they only gave me a $175 refund which I thought was not enough. When I first called, they offered me $60 and said they could go now higher, then after some argument, it went up to $75, then after speaking to a manager it went up to $175. If it couldn't go any higher, how did it go up each time I talked to someone new? If I would have gotten hurt, there would be a lawsuit. Shameful. Should have been at least 50% off.

I had a terrible experience with Budget. I made a reservation for a 26ft truck. A week in advance. I was notified the day before the move. The truck wouldn’t be available. After finally finding me a 16 ft truck. Which was not large enough for my move. It broke down 3 times. I was compensated 150 extra miles. Which I did not need. I think I should have been compensated for this truck period. Or some type of discount. I will never used their trucks again! Kay T Galveston, Tx

THE STRAP ON THE CARGO DOOR BROKE WHEN WE I WAS LETTING THE DOOR DOWN AND CAUSED A FALL AND FRACTURED ARM!!

We had ordered a 16 foot truck with ramp. When we went to pick it up a 16 footer was not available and we didn't have the time to wait or travel to another site. Thankfully, they did have another 26 foot at the same price. It would only do 65 mph and I don't know how much more it cost in gas. But it drove well and carried everything we needed. They are on their way to drop off the vehicle now. Hopefully without incident that would change my review.

I felt like they picked the worse truck they had since it was going one way from CT to Florida. We made it safe but the truck had a laundry list of issues.

I am a member of Budget Fastbreak and I absolutely love the ease of their rental process. Everyone is always super nice and professional.

Pick and truck itself were fine. Return was not exactly easy though.
