We rented a Budget truck in Lakewood NJ. Jerry ( I think) was the nicest guy. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the right size truck and provided great customer service. Would highly recommend his rental company.

Horrible. We reserved a month before our pick up date and they did not have the vehicle. They found a larger vehicle at a location 20 miles away and sent us there to get it. The lady in Pt. St. Lucie was quite rude. Reminded me of the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld. She was like "maybe I can find a solution for you, maybe I won't." And we had flown down there, rented a car from Budget, etc. Truck was in good shape and drove well -- the saving grace of our experience.

Truck was not clean, also was damaged

I was not pleased to have gotten a black van. Black in the summer is not a good combination since black gets hotter than a white wan would. The Navigation display on the truck indicated that the display was too hot and for me to turn the display off.

Picking up and dropping off was great, but the truck itself was a rough ride. Transmission was slipping and I didn't know if it would make the last 100 miles of the trip.

Truck had check engine and sounded weird, but over all drove fine. The truck was clean, very easy pick up and drop off and offered the best pricing for the size needed.

The truck size I reserved was not available for my reservation, The truck I received had some mechanical issues and didn't operate and accelerate properly. I will never rent a Budget truck again, and would not recommend this service to anyone.

Overall good experience, but the process for renting/returning is time consuming and cumbersome. Staff were friendly and competent, but the location was under staffed.

Local Budget Dealer gave me a truck with Engine Warning Light and told me nothing was wrong and ignore the warning lights based upon the maintenance shop they got the truck from. I had no choice as it was the only 26' truck on the lot. 800 miles into the trip - you guessed it - STOP ENGINE IMMEDIATELY Light/Buzzer. Roadside Assist did all they could. Took 2 maintenance actions and 3 failures in 100 miles, and they finally gave us a new truck (and load transfer crew). Lost 48 Hours, but Budget reimbursed us for 2 additional night hotel and per diem without question. I didn't appreciate the attitude of the local office. When I called to ask them a simple question (Not blame them) - the person got extremely defensive and started to read me the riot act. Even after I explained I just had a simple general question - he kept on & on. I couldn't get him to shut up and ended up hanging up on him. Budget would have gotten 5 stars - Nashua NH Local Office - 1 star due to employee attitude.

Truck died the day we rented and they said it was our issue and we had to go through insurance to fix it. Literally rented it 2 hours prior to it breaking.

OKAY; WHEN TRUCK PICKED UP BY US, FUEL SAID FULL. DROVE 5 MILES TO HOME AND HAD TO STOP AND GET $40 GAS. DON'T THINK FUEL WAS FULL. DROVE PERSONAL CAR TO BUDGET AND COMPLAINED ABOUT GAS PURCHASE AND GOT PACKING BLANKETS FREE -25- TO USE.

Didn't have the car dolly that I had reserved over 3 weeks in advance. Didn't inform me until the morning of the scheduled pick up. Instead of costing $122 to get the car to Oregon, it cost over $1,000.

Truck has 25,000 miles so it is pretty new. Badly needed a front end alignment. I had to drive 2500 with a truck that constantly pulled to the right. My arm is now sore. I'll be glad to get the truck back.

We rented a 12 foot rental truck for a move out of a college apartment online for a specific date and time. When we arrived to pick up the truck, they did not have it and offered to let us use a 26 foot truck! What?! We were never informed that they would not have the truck. We should have received at the very least, a courtesy call to let us know. We rallied and found a truck at Uhaul. Thank goodness they had a truck for us. They actually had what they said they had online.

They mistyped my email address at booking which caused some problems as I did not get a confirmation number. Took a couple more phone calls but they did resolve the issues. Had also ordered pads which were not delivered with the truck so had to rent them from U-Haul at the last minute. Truck was fine and pick-up and drop-off agents were very fast and courteous.

Budget crewed me badly. They gave me a cargo van instead of 12 foot trucked I had reserved. I will never used them again.

They called me the day before to inform me that the truck I was going to rent broke down between Nashville & Chattanooga and that they had to downsize me. The gave me an extra day for free since I would have to make multiple trips. They were very professional and understanding.

Well the rental agent at the pickup location was stellar. The truck needs to go to the mechanic for proper maintenance. This is no fault of the agent. But that truck needs tire balancing / wheel alignment, brakes, steering mechanism work. I am calling them because I never received my final receipt.

Truck was manageable to drive and everything we had fit in it. Only minor issue was that the cabin was not clean and windshield had some tape that should've been removed before being rented.

The Worst.. Did not have the right equipment and never made it right. Had to drive our car from Florida to Iowa because the could not get a car carrier lined up! Will never do business with them again!
