On the way to scheduled pickup, was told truck not available and to go to another location substantially further away. Supporting equipment requested was not on truck at pick up and wasn't provided before travel.

I've used Penske more than once and I was very happy that they recommended these movers.

This is second Penske rental for moving college age kids in last 6 months. First time put in ton of research and picked Penske. A rep from other major rental company dropped price to match my quote, I commented that I was leaning Penske for their trucks and the rep admitted that Penske has the reputation in the industry for best trucks out there. For 1,000 mile drive I wanted a truck I could trust. This time was only 200 miles. Called Penske, got great price. And, all their "other" fees lower (dolly, pads, etc.). Looking forward to when kids all out of college and I don't need to be renting trucks, but next time I rent, I'm pretty certain I'll pick Penske for truck quality and overall value.

This was second one-way rental from Penske in a 26' truck in past six months. Once for moving daughter 1,000 miles and this one was for moving my son 200 miles. Truck in good condition, clean, and had no problem with the dolly, furniture pads, etc. I priced and compared all major companies. There are a number of small ways Penske comes in with lower fees. The 22' truck I requested hadn't been delivered when I arrived and Penske upgraded me to the 26' available at no additional cost. Only one child still in college so hope my moving days will be over but recent experiences tell me Penske will be next truck I rent.

Great trucking, easy rental

We had to scramble for the 2 dozen blankets I reserved. However, the Penske rep drove them to my house, so good recovery.

Frank was very helpful on getting us what we needed. We used a 26 foot truck and car carrier.

Truck broke down and communication was difficult to replace the truck. Movers were available and ready but not truck company.

Using Penske was amazing...you get more room in their trucks than Uhauls, where the overhead is counted in the overall feet (16 ft is really 12 ft in the box) .

The truck was in good shape and I got a great rate for my one way rental. I loved that the rental covered 4 days and included unlimited miles! I also loved that the requested equipment and pick up location were guaranteed since I placed my reservation more than a day in advance.

The rental truck with a car trailer was not at the reserved location. Had to drive to another location. I thought Penske had this "guaranteed to be at the reserved location" thing. Operating instructions were good.

Move from hell. 20 miles into the trip, one tire blew. The car trailer did not have any safety bolts, (There should have been 3). Return location was a vacant lot with a non working phone number. Very poor handling of the situation.

Our truck was not at the Home Depot as was arranged, so we had to drive for 30 minutes in each direction to get a truck from the main depot. Added stress to a stressful day as the packers and driver were waiting for the truck to arrive to start. The team at the Penske depot were very nice and friendly though and gave us an additional discount to compensate for the inconvenience.

I booked a 26’ moving truck with Penske and I’m giving 4 stars for one main reason… it was absolutely pouring the day I went to pick up the truck and the box was leaking into the cargo area of the truck. Penske had to get me another truck, which took about 3 hours extra, but their customer service handled the situation very well. In hindsight the weather all the way down to Florida was perfect to the damaged truck would have been fine, but the gave me a discount for my trouble which paid for the fuel. Overall I did have a very positive experience using Penske and would do the same next time.

Accommodating customer service was kind and assertive in getting us the resources we needed on such short notice.

Just a horrible experience, The truck leaked and ruined 10 boxes of clothes, a pull out couch.. THERE WERE MUSHROOMS growing inside the truck!!! Penske is going to pay. I promise.

We rented a 16 ft truck. It was new, had cruise control and about 8000 miles on it when we started. We used Penske because they gave us various discounts and brought the price down. No one else offered any incentives. The drop off was easy as well as the pick up. Yes, I would use them again. The workers were respectful and kind - that is a big incentive when you are already stressed due to moving. I would recommend them.

Penske is a grert truck rental company. They do their own maintenance so the trucks are in great working order and very clean.

Truck wasn't ready when I got there. Had to wait at home depot for 1 1/2 hours. They made it right by delivering my truck to my house (extenuating circumstances) and work a better price for me. All in all I was happy with customer service provide after my problem.

Truck was clean and low mileage. It drove well. Saved a lot of money compared to hiring a cross country moving company.

We rented a 26' truck. Truck was clean and easy to drive after some time behind the wheel. Rental facility employee explained truck equipment do's and don'ts that were easy to understand.

Truck was ready when i arrived and when i underestimated the time needed, an extra day was easily added.

Penske was easy to contact to confirm my reservation in advance, and also reached out to confirm about 48h ahead. They were knowledgeable and I reached a human whenever I called. I rented a 16ft truck (I originally wanted the next smaller truck but this is the smallest option for towing a car) + car carrier and everything was in order on time for pickup at the Penske store, right at opening. The truck was more than enough space for my move, as anticipated, and the smaller size would have worked well if I were not towing. The truck and cabin were very clean and everything in working order (a pin had broken on the carrier but it was noticed and fixed promptly); they also helped me with hitching the car carrier to the truck and with loading my car. Drop off (at Home Depot rather than a standalone Penske) was a little sluggish but overall convenient and easy. Out of the major companies, only U-Haul, Budget, and Penske worked for my one-way rental. Budget and Penske were similar but Penske slightly lower in price, whereas U-Haul was cheaper. I chose Penske despite the somewhat higher cost because U-Haul does not truly guarantee your reservation, and I am 100% satisfied with that decision based on their reliability and excellent customer service. We lost the truck key at one point and their response far exceeded my expectations: when we called 24/7 roadside assistance they knew what to do right away, they sent someone out to us promptly and he arrived early (provided ETA 90min, arrived in 80min), it was easy to check for updates on their app or by calling back throughout the wait time, and there was no extra charge. I would definitely use Penske again on my next move.
