We picked Pack Rat because they had a cleaner pricing model with what appeared to be less add on expenses. The PODs were clean and the company is large enough to provide climate controlled storage in both our departure and destination city. Overall the experience was uneventful. Pack Rat showed up as requested and provided exceptional customer service.
Organized and convenient, Ted, who is a mastermind scheduler and customer liaison, is the kind of person we all hope to deal with when moving. The drivers have also been great. Special shout out to Feguelson Phadael, Jorge Zaragoza and Madiline Agosto. Three employees who understand what representing your company means.
Our original contract to load our 1400 sqft hone into 2 containers and put in storage for 3-4 months. This contract was for loading and unloading by their staff. The loading portion went flawless and I was very satisfied. During our storage, Pack Rat took over operations and this is when they failed. They terminated the unloading portion of our contract which left me trying to find helpers. They refunded me $400.00 for the inconvenience. My out of pocket cost was much more than that. Only to make matters worse was both containers were to be delivered together and they only sent 1 and after several phone calls they agreed to send the other one the next day, siting manpower issues.
I had some sticker shock, but I think mostly because of inexperience. The customer service experience was very good at every point of contact from the booking agent, to the truck drivers, and everyone in between. Best of all, my things arrived in the same condition as when I loaded them. I had a previous experience with another company that included some water damage near the doors. I think I choose them most of all because their containers seemed the most sturdy and weather safe and they had insurance included in the base cost. I would use this company again.
I paid $500 extra to have my belonging expedited over the holidays. I was guaranteed the delivery would be on January 2, 2019. My brother and I waited 6 days in a hotel for the 2 containers to arrive. I had an extra $1,600 added to my moving cost because Pack-Rat could not find a long distance carrier to transport my 2 containers from New Haven, CT to Fort Monroe, VA. I wouldn't us Pack-Rat for another long distance move. I cannot speak about their local service.
Pack Rat showed up on time on both ends of the move, and were helpful with a reschedule of the delivery of the full container. Their container was effective way to move my mother's belonging from AZ to NY. Mom packed it up in AZ, and I coordinated unpacking in NY. The container and local storage option made it easy to schedule convenient dates for loading and unloading. And we even had to move the unload date, and there was no problem in doing so. I would use this company again.
This was the first (and maybe the last) time I've had so many problems with Pack Rat. They kept charging my account before services were rendered. If I hadn't called the day before, they would've delivered my unit back to where I moved from. Then they charged, I should say overcharged my account. Instead of voiding the payment, they charged what should've been charge before the first amount was credited back. They took too much unnecessary liberty with charging my account.
Pack Rat did a good job of scheduling delivery of our container and picking it up once full. The customer service agents were nice and the drivers were great! The only reason I cannot give them an "Excellent" rating is unfortunately getting our full container delivered to our new location was a nightmare. 1.) They failed to mention that "10 days" really meant "10 business days" (weekends not included). 2.) They didn't advise us that the holidays would cause a delay to the delivery of our container. 3.) I called to request they expedite delivery and they never called back to provide an update. I sent several emails and never received a reply. After several attempts, I finally reached an agent that said my delivery wasn't even scheduled yet, which was surprising as we provided the date a few times. This all resulted in my family moving into an empty home and having to wait over a week to get our things. While it was an adventure "camping" in our new home, it was disappointing given how great the rest of the service was for our long distance move.
I decided use a 1-800-Pack-Rat container for my move. I'm glad I did! Everyone (person scheduling & the driver) was courteous and professional. They even helped me find last minute movers to load my container when another company I had hired failed to show. 1-800-Pack-Rat did an excellent job transporting my furniture safely from one location to another. I would use this company again. I highly recommend them for your next move!
The container was too small for all my property. In order to get another container I would have had to pay double the amount, which I thought was unreasonable. Once I got the 3 bedroom mattresses in, the container was not able to hold a lot. Therefore, I had to sell one of the bedroom sets and leave my sectional behind.
Although Pack-Rat was finally very efficient in picking up the storage container, they did so on the day after the agreed upon date. We had to call when no one arrived at the first expected time, and were given a later arrival time. Even later, Pack-Rat called to apologize and gave us a new time for the next morning. This time, the driver arrived on time and did a great job moving the container from a difficult to access site. The pick up snafu was the only reason for our lowered rating. Overall, we had a great experience with Pack-Rat, from the initial quote to the delivery and pick up. Pack-Rat provided great customer service, especially in dealing with a unique permitting issue and had professional, courteous and very skilled drivers. We would definitely contract with Pack-Rat again.
My belongings made it safely. I chose this company because of the type of container they have. The storage cost was not consistent every month and was not the same as my contract so a phone call had to be to figure out the issue. The blanket rental was quite costly. They were friendly when on the phone. My belongings made it safely and in good order.
1800Packrat was great. They wee timely and responsive to my situation. We needed a second container and they were great getting it to us and picking it up. They would get the 5th star if they are just as good in the delivery of our containers at the destination across the country. Mesa Az to Naples Fl.
Worked very well for three rooms and assorted extras. Container was in great shape. Customer service was excellent throughout. Chose this company because of the customer service, price, and availability. Yes, would use again and fully intend to... You don't realize how much room they need to drop off/pickup container until it appears, so plan accordingly.
Pack-Rat's customer service provided by C. Davidson was exceptional. She helped us solve some permitting issues as well as think through the space challenges for parking the container. And then Robert delivered it and did an excellent job getting it parked. Both went the extra mile and were so pleasant to work with. We would definitely use Pack-Rat again.
Local crew out of Chattanooga went the extra mile to get our containers to us for loading when national schedulers didn't allow time for both containers to be delivered the same day. Their crew made the difference in saving our moving experience. It would have been easier if we could have communicated directly with them prior to or morning of delivery due to distance containers had to be delivered. Customer service at national office has been thorough and pleasant to deal with. Still have containers in storage for 3 months so can't make final assessment on storage and delivery. Chose them for cost.
we were very awkward customers, trying to figure out a complicated move that ended up involving 4 containers going out of state over a period of 2 months. I had to make date changes again and again, once of them a scant 24 hours ahead of time, and was never charged a dime extra or grumbled at. I know it was a lot of extra paper work for Pack Rats, but there was never a whimper. or a fee. I was a wreck, but they were cheerful, efficient and helpful and stuck with me to the end. I love those people. PS - They were also most helpful in recommending crews to help pack and unpack. And they were wonderful too.
