Pod delivered on time..did an excellent job positioning the pod on a difficult street...

Would like a container delivery & pick up time window; 2 hour or 4 hour window

On time - minimal hassle free scheduling (computers a bit slow with volume). Not really a big savings on moving costs but enjoyed being in control of my time schedule. Don't be fooled by "pack it yourself" option. Saved on moving things twice, but boxes and packing materials were expensive!

Moved from Baltimore to Atlanta with ~1 month storage in between. (16 ft container, filled but not jam packed from ~3-4 room 900 sq ft apartment.) Liked their cost and their option for flex transport between the warehouses (allows them to take longer, saves $100-200). Container was in great condition and came with brand new furniture blankets. Good communication before delivery and pickup up. Great customer service reps on the phone. Skillful and hardworking drivers.

I have no idea how they are in business. I don't plan on using the again. I live in the Portland Oregon area and they have no communications with any one here. The phone service is so bad that I would have to plug in my phone because they would drain my battery waiting to talk to someone. They encourage you to leave you number and promise to keep you place in the que. They never ever called so I was stuck waiting 45 minutes listen to them tell me to leave my number. I had to wait three days to get my Pod. The packers were professional and worked with me on the delay. They were suppose to call an hour before they delivered the Pod. They just showed up when I had given up on delivery for the day. I was working in the back yard and it was just luck that I walked around to the front and saw my pod. I do not recommend them and I would NOT use them if I had not already committed to it. They never ever communicated with me on anything. The phone service is based in South Carolina and they have no clue what is happening in this area. That is crazy and stupid, how can they get anything done from South Carolina. I am so frustrated and wish I had never used them.

Great service all around! Ended up using 1-800-Pack-Rat after PODS left me hanging. I highly recommend 1-800-Pack-Rat; they are the best!

container was delivered and picked up as promised at both ends. The container was very nice and sealed up well to keep dust and moisture out. It came with quilted pads to keep items safe. They kept me informed at all time as to where the container was at and I could call and get an up date at any time. The move cost much less then a mover. I would highly recommend Pack Rat for your move.

There were some major complications with weight restrictions on my out-of-state move which the customer could not personally adjust without moving truck being present. Company should include scales on pods for customer. The customer service call center attendants were extremely helpful and acted to remediate the complication quickly. Although the complication would have not existed if the storage container had a weight scale read-on on the container itself. It was an unnecessarily stressful situation which could have been corrected if the container had a read-out of weight being loaded.

Very "with it" as far as incorporating changes in my plans. The container was clean and dropped off and picked up when promised. Jan P.

Courteous and timely service! The trailer was in great shape and the drivers were knowledgeable and professional. Both the drivers and customer service folks took the time to answer our questions. Hopefully all will be the same when we receive our goods on the other end of the country. Up to now it's been great!

The container was not large enough for all of my items. I questioned this before the packers started packing and they assured me that is was large enough. I had to rent a uhaul container and an extra storage unit in addition to the pak rat container.

All metal container plus 12 blanket for free and padlock and 2nd container with tons of discount!!!! You can't go wrong with this.

Great way to move long distance when storage has to be involved. The container was in good shape and we appreciated that they provided 20 moving blankets per container along with a lock. We had an issue with billing, but they reviewed the original call and determined that we were not told about the additional charge, so that charge was backed out. The drivers loading and picking up the containers were very friendly and helpful. Best of all, we have not found any broken or damaged items yet!

It was a seamless operation. Every time line was met, container and blankets were clean.

The entire experience was excellent - from the first call to set up the move to the final pick up. The container was in excellent condition and had more blankets than promised. It arrived right on time and once loaded was picked up on time. The contained arrived to my destination via the LDM ahead of schedule and was delivered to my new location right on time. I would definitely use them again, even though I hope NOT to move any time soon! The customer service department as well as the drivers were all very helpful, courteous and professional!

Never use them again. hassle to get the containers, no blankets inside. Incompetent to drop them, mistake in orienting the containers. lousy job

I was very pleased that everything fit like a puzzle into the container (I was worried). The blankets provided were clean, delivery of the container was easy. Customer service was outstanding...everyone bent over backwards to make my move easy. I chose Pack-Rat after searching the internet and reading reviews. I'd definitely use Pack Rat if I ever have to move again.

Disclaimer: I have not received the container at the new destination yet. But, so far, my experience with 1-800-PACKRAT has been solid, from sales to scheduling to delivery. Because the driver would not have enough space to use my driveway (check YouTube to see how the container is delivered), I paid the extra fee for guaranteed schedule so that they could drop the container on the street by 10am and pick it up after 3pm. They actually dropped 8:30am and picked it up at 4:30pm, that was perfect. And their container feels really sturdy, well built. So far so good. The downside is that one 16ft container was not enough for all my furniture and boxes.

On-time pick-up and deliveries. Excellent communication. Sturdy, clean container. 6000-lb. capacity for the 16-foot rig, weighed at time of pick-up. [Note: Unable to deposit the pod into our driveway, due to very narrow street and the configuration of Pack-Rat rig. Fortunately, the movers (unloading) had no issue hauling items across the street.]

They held our belonging hostage it seemed like. The day they were supposed to deliver our first container at our new home, they just no called, no showed. The second container was scheduled incorrectly. We didn't see out 2nd container for another 2 days.

Love it! This is my first long-distance move and was unsure of how things work. 1-800-PACK-RAT 's thorough and great communication throughout the whole process keeps me in the loop of the entire process. I really appreciate the great customer support I received the entire move.

This container company was far less professional than the movers. Many promises to call or send confirmations were not met. There seemed to be a great deal of confusion. The price quote was not really that competitive.

Delivery of POD(s) were on time - good co-ordination between me and the company. In asking for extra pads they were on the spot, helping to make sure we got the extra pads. POD delivery guys were super - careful of passage way between POD and other cars on the street.

Very convenient service! Very professional representatives and drivers. The unit was clean and held up to all the weight in it easily. Reasonable price and competitive with the major self-move companies. Great for moving into or out of a house, though a bit more challenging with an apartment complex due to parking space needed for the unit. I would highly recommend this company.

PackRat was very accommodation. I was assured that they did what they said they would.

If you need your move to work like clock work, do not hire these guys. Pay the extra and go with another company that does the same thing. The customer service is top-notch, but I they wouldn't need to work so hard if the logistical aspect of the operation weren't such a sh*t show.

On the customer service end, these guys are great. Unfortunately, the logistical aspect of the rest of the operation makes their jobs very difficult. PackRat wouldn't be on time if their lives depended on it. I was given a 5 hour morning time window for delivery of the empty container (8-1pm). The container didn't arrive until after 3pm. The pickup of the empty container at the new place was delayed 24 hours later than it was supposed to be. This is because the driver didn't want to wait 15 minutes for my movers to unload the last two items. I was given a 10-12pm pickup the following day. The container sat on the street until ~6PM. My advice: If you're really flexible with your move, these container services can be great. If you need things to go like clockwork, pay the extra and go with the other guys. Things that went well: The container was clean and nothing was broken. But that was likely because the guys that packed it up were freaking awesome. (Patriot Movers out of Southern California)
