Packrat was slow to deliver the unit in PA and didn't have the blankets that were supposed to be included. Other than that they were very good to deal with. The driver that delivered the unit here in TX was first rate. She took very good care to put the unit out of the way and could really handle the truck!

lots of phone calls.could not give an accurate time for delivery of empty container or pick up time for packed container.then,when they were to come for packed container,,the company called to say their truck broke down,but they would be at the house first thing in the morning,they didnt show until after 2pm.not very happy with this company.

The Pack Rat was shorter than the Pod, but it seemed sturdier in construction.

Their delivery of empty PODs and pick up of full ones was not well scheduled. The company policy of 8 hour window for pickup and delivery is not helpful when one is hiring helpers to load and unload. Too many hours of workers standing around doing nothing but collecting pay waiting for the containers to arrive!

Not finished yet, do far we are very impressed with the service.

I rented the larger container which was filled to capacity when we were done. I could have filled another one easily. The container was clean and water tight. We were able to secure shelf units to the sides of the container because there are cross beams to tie to. The shelves allowed us to stack boxes without fear of smashing the boxes on the bottom. The only draw back was the delivery of the empty container on the first day. It arrived at 11pm and the driver position the doors opposite from what I had requested. It took 2 days for the company to come back and turn the doors to face the garage. I would use this company again.

I would definitely use both Pack-rats and hire a helper/big boys moving helpers again! Both companies were easily available to get in touch with and answer my questions. Made the move so much easier!

Packrat is highly recommended. They performed all of the services on schedule. This included delivery of the container and picking it up at both ends of the move. When the container was delivered, all of the items were in place just the way they were loaded.(no load shifting.).

Excellent service up to now. Very impressed with skills and professionalism of drivers when pod placed and picked up. Showed up during the time frame given, called 1 hour in advance as promised. Hydraulic lift was a strong selling point, and kept the pod stable. I would certainly recommend this company for the service thus far. Hope the storage service and pod placement and pickup at the other end is as terrific!

I don't have a review for Pack Rat yet since my containers have not been delivered yet and will go into storage for a couple of weeks. So far, though, it has been a pleasure working with all the personnel there that I have had to contact with my various questions. I will let you know once the containers have been deliered and opened up!!!!!!!

The transportation company was excellent.

Great container design (28 ft). Drivers were very nice and helpful. A few glitches as far as dispatching and communications go but overall a great value.

Our move is not yet completed. We go into storage for the time being.

We packed up all of our boxes in the Pack Rat container to move--we did not move any furniture. It worked out great!

Our Container was 4 days late and was everything we owned and needed. Communication was nearly impossible except for one representative (not the one that was assigned to us) that really seemed to be fighting an intenal uphill battle to try and get our stuff to us.

I used Pack Rat to transport and store my belongings. I liked being able to pack my own stuff, at my own pace. I didn't feel pressured to find a home after I sold my previous house.

Many delays, but they got the job done.

Much cheaper then Pods. Very efficient. They were even nice when I had to make some changes. Sent email confirmations for every aspect of the process. I was given the name and number of a person to help answer all questions. Highly recommend them.

Down size house had to use 2 containers

We move two large containers across country. The representatives were friendly, helpful, and answered all my questions and concerns. Once we set a schedule for pickup, delivery and pickup on the other end, every went smoothly and as planned. We would use this service again.

All in all the move from coast to coast went smoothly. I would highly recommend Pack Rat and Hire A Helper again.

Clean container and came on time as promised.

Clean and on time. The inside dimensions were less than what was provided on the literature I received from Pack-Rat. The height was closer to 84" versus the 91" shown in the literature.

The person who dropped off the container was very friendly and made sure to put it exactly where we wanted it and made sure it was level. We were only moving a 2 bedroom apartment so we did not fill the 16-foot shipping container. The container was a little dinged up on the outside, but the inside was clean and the lock worked fine. My only complaint is about their window for delivery and pickup: 8A-11P. I live in Detroit and there is a facility in Detroit so I'm no sure why they couldn't give me a more specific delivery time. Basically I had to take the day off of work to wait for them, but since we were moving, I probably would have had to do that anyway. Overall, however, the company was very easy to book with, very responsive and easily accessible, and did everything committed to very well. I would absolutely recommend this service.

I opened what was packed by inept workers. Do NOT use this company unless you want to open a lot of broken trash. I would also advise never to use their suggested packing and loading people in Atlanta. Lazy take tons of breaks and do terrible work. I had antiques 300 yrs old utterly destroyed

Made the move as good as something like that gets!

The info from PR schedulers is different from actual local delivery people. Example: I scheduled with corporate PR for all containers to be delivered on Tuesday the 12th. Come to find out with local guys, they only deliver Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and only deliver one at a time. It took a week to take delivery. It worked out in the end, but I would not have used them if I had known. They told me AFTER I loaded the first container. Other wise all the drivers were nice and did a good job. Everything arrived in good condition so all in the past.

Very pleased with Pack Rat! All aspects of our move were seamless. All employees we dealt with were professional and very nice to deal with. I will definitely use them again.

Overall a very good experience with 1-800-PackRat. They provided a lot more blankets than they originally told us, and that was a huge help to us. The process is fairly straightforward, very clear explanation of the costs, and they performed exactly as they said they would.

The great thing about Packrat storage containers is that you can be flexible with your move. I needed a storage container to remove some items from my home (in preparation for selling it/open house) and then it went into storage. When the house was sold, it was brought back so I could finish packing up. It was very convenient in that sense. I couldn't always get the storage container on the exact day that I wanted it - maybe I just didn't call enough in advance, but I had to wait longer than I wanted to for Packrat to bring the container to me the second time and then I had to wait longer than I needed to for them to come pick up the empty container after my move. It wasn't a huge deal, but something to consider.

Pack Rat unit dropped off and picked up on time. Everything was exactly as it was supposed to be.

Scheduling the packrat was just fine no complaints there. My issue was when our pack rat was to be picked up. The driver felt he didn't have enough space to do so... but he didn't even really try... or get out of this truck to take a look around. He only completed the process four + hours later after his boss had him come back and do it. My family had to stand outside in our parking lot to block off other cars from parking and taking up the space he might need to get the packrat container out .. and not knowing when he would return we didn't want to risk it. In the end we ended up hitting the road many hours later than we had intended which landed us in our hotel for the night at 12 midnight... which is awesome with an infant screaming for several hours. Needless to say the pickup guy ruined the experience for us. I won't be packratting again.

Moving service great but Pack Rat made this move the worst

Thus far, making the reservation and having the container delivered have gone well, with the exception of the delivery being a tad late. The initial customer service representative was absolutely wonderful to work with. The moving container was spotless and furniture pads are quite thick and will protect the furniture well. The container is also constructed solidly and will protect my belongings well. It will be picked up on Monday and transported within 30 days to its new destination.

I would use Pack Rat again, as well. I found everyone in the company, from any operator or technician with whom I spoke, and the drivers as well to be very professional, easy to work with, and accommodating when I needed to change my schedule. I will reccommend both 1-800-Pack-Rat and Sebastian Moving.
