Worth every penny. Customer service is kind, thorough and the follow-up via email and phone is wonderful. My daughter recently used a competitor strictly because of price and has regretted her decision. She begged me to use PODs and I am thrilled I did. The talent of the drivers that pick up and deliver the PODS is amazing. You should watch the process if you can. I had a tight window to move and ended up having to order an additional POD at the last minute. PODs accommodated me, got another POD delivered right away and picked up the first POD after it was loaded with unbelievable precision. Someone had parked their car next to the POD when the POD was clearly placed in two parking spaces. After repeated attempts to find the owner of the parked car, the POD driver was able to extract the POD without hurting the vehicle that was parked next to it.
Did not show up on the day/time scheduled. Had to put in 3 calls to Customer Service. Customer service told me that the drivers would call to give me an update on arrival time, but that never happened. Then I received and email with a reschedule date of 5 days later, which was not acceptable since I would be on a plane to my new location. So after one more call saying that was unacceptable the did arrive the day following the original delivery date. The did pick up the loaded crate on time as they had scheduled. I know things happen and don't only go smoothly, so I'd probably use them again if I ever have the need again.
I never used PODS before but I would recommend them to everyone. They don't hassle or bother you about your move. They give you all the time you need to load and unload your property. They will even store your POD if you are unable to unload it. Lastly, they will also give you recommend companies to help you with loading or unloading. You choose which one you would like to use at the best price.
The disappointing part on my part is they do not deliver in my area even though there is a business of some sort gets pids delivered to his appartment building right up the street from me. I asked why he gets service and I don’t. Was told that must be a business. I have to drive 1 1/2 hours away and rent 2 rental trucks to unload 2 pods on the rental trucks and drive the trucks to my home place and unload them and return the rental trucks to a dealer. Going to be twice the work. Other than that renting the pod was easy and pod delivered on time.
I received a price quote online, and called PODS the following day to book the container. They changed the prices on me (both the container delivery charge and the monthly rental charge). I had to call them back and talk to the customer service to have charges adjusted, and they only adjusted them for 3 months, so if I keep the container longer -- my rental fee will go above the price that was on the original quote.
PODS is a great company to work with. They coordinated deliveries and pick-ups of PODS with us at both ends of our move - Washington state to Wisconsin - including allowing us to have a second pod delivered for our packing on relatively short notice. Their use of delivery and pick-up confirmations via both phone messages and emails was very helpful during our busy transitioning days. Our furniture & furnishings arrived on schedule in perfect condition. Thank you everybody at PODS!
PODS was really the only option for my complicate move (across several states, including storage for a couple of months). The job got done and it was relatively affordable. But, the customer service was very awkward (very confusing communications when I called to reschedule the pick up and to schedule delivery). They also are unable to provide the time of your POD drop-off until the night before, which makes scheduling movers very difficult.
The PODS experience was pretty good. The size was accurate; there was plenty of room in the pod for our 2-bed-2-bath. The pod was quite clean and in new condition, so that was nice. The drop off location wasn't quite ideal... Mainly it would have been a lot better to have the door on the other side, and the pod farther "forward" in the parking zone. We were present at drop off and asked the driver about this, but he said we hadn't ordered the door to be on the front-facing side, so he couldn't do it. Maybe it would have been challenging to maneuver it around in the street. We didn't know there is any way to request the door face a certain direction. Anyway, so that resulted in a significantly longer distance from house door to pod door. The next morning, the pod was picked up several hours early! They changed scheduling and we didn't get the notification until it was already too late. We were going to put a few more things in and make sure everything was secure, but we were thus prevented from doing so. That said, the rest of the experience went smoothly. Good communication. Small issue at the arrival end, but was resolved successfully with the driver. No particular damage to our stuff. Good experience overall, would use PODS again.
Everything went well until the timing for delivery of the POD to the new address. Time frame given was 9am to noon. Arrival was 1:30. It is hard and expensive when trying to co-ordinate help to unpack the POD when timing is so unsure. My understanding is there was a meeting called that morning which put everything off. Perhaps the left hand should communicate better with the right hand so the rest of us can plan or move.
A team of three arrived on time and were so efficient and quick. It took them a little over an hour to unload a 15 foot POD. The guys placed the boxes and furniture right where I asked them, and even when I changed my mind didn't hesitate to move them. They carried the items throughout our home being very careful not to damage the furniture or the walls.
