The price and convenience were great. The customer service was great. Down side, one of the drivers who did a pick-up was anything but gentle with the container and banged it around quite a bit. They advertise a gentle move and lift system, but make sure you heavily wrap your furniture as the system is only as good as the operator.
Delivered and picked up on time from where I was moving. It did take 2 days longer to get to the city where I was moving, but since I hadn't finalized where I was going to live yet it wasn't an issue. The container was delivered to me when I needed it, where I needed it, and was picked up as scheduled. I would use PODS again.
I wish there was a larger option available. Distance from my POD was reasonable.. Container was in good condition. Customer service was excellent. Using POD for storage was easier than traditional storage containers. I only had to pay for someone to load my valuables initially, then when I was ready for my valuable I only pay to have them unloaded vs. load and unload for traditional storage containers. The company picked up there container when stated. I would use this company again.
Working with PODS was easy and convenient. I was contacted by Keith Martin in special services due to the moving restrictions in New York City. It was helpful to have a personal contact throughout the process. They worked with me to arrive during alternate side parking to maximize the chance of getting a spot right in front of my apartment building. The driver arrived early and was able to park directly in front of my building. The POD was clean and the lock and furniture blankets I ordered arrived with the POD. The only hiccup was that the rope I had ordered did not arrive and there was some miscommunication somewhere along the line, as I did not receive it in the mail as I should have -- though I did not know until the day of my move that the rope was supposed to have been shipped to me -- I was expecting it would arrive with the other supplies I ordered. The driver of the truck, Nina, was fabulous. She stood outside the container and kept an eye on all of my belongings while the POD was being loaded. Overall, it was a great experience. Hopefully the delivery of my belongings will go as smoothly as the pick-up.
This was a perfect method for us to transport our household goods. The pod was always delivered and picked up in a timely manner and the workers were always pleasant and helpful. They placed the pod in a couple of challenging locations: first on a tree-lined circular driveway and then on a fairly steep slope. The pod was clean and held much more than I had anticipated. I would recommend them to friends and use them again myself.
I had problems with customer service and their billing process earlier. They could not meet my requested date to deliver the POD despite calling 10 days in advance, theirs web site recommends 3-5 day advance notice. The day before the scheduled delivery they called to reschedule the delivery which created problems for the crew I hired to unload the pod. Fortunately they were able to schedule it for the next day without an additional charge. I had to have the pod parked on a public street and had permission to have it there for 48 hours so, I scheduled the pickup for the day after delivery. The day it was scheduled to be picked up no one arrived or called. I called the company who told that a truck broke down and they cancelled my pick up. This was on a Friday and they would not pick it up until Monday because it was empty it was a low priority. I told them it was on a street and needed to be removed right away, and they said that was not their problem. Also be aware that PODS does not prorate their billing, go one day into the next billing schedule and you will be charged for a total month. This is what happened to me despite the fact that it was their fault due to the missed delivery date!
The delivery of the pods was good. They picked it up when I wanted them too. There was a problem with the first pod, in that I had requested it to be left in the storage area until I could have it re dilivered to my condo to continue filling it. It was a misunderstanding between both the PODS operator and myself. This resulted in the POD being shipped to the final destination less than half full. I had to have another POD delivered and pay the long distance fee twice. Because of the tapes it was decided that PODS did not have to make and adjustment to the account.
Excellent!!! I had email and phone confirmation of eta for PODS container delivery the night before. The driver called the morning of to say he was on his way and would arrive within 15 minutes which he did. The initial delivery was seamless and the driver very professional and cautious about placing plywood to guard against tearing up the grass or damaging a sprinkler head off the driveway. Great service!!!
The driver who installed the 2 pods into our driveway took extreme care to avoid damaging our property as our one driveway was not wide enough to bring the pod fully into position. But his expert judgement allowed the pod to be perfectly placed and balanced at just the right angle to allow the pod to sit at the far end of the driveway but out of the way of street traffic
Two improvement areas. 1) the screws holding the floor boards down weren't screwed all the way making it difficult to slide items. i understand vibrations cause this but perhaps a better design should be considered 2) we needed a permit for parking the POD in the street and when I called to set up delivery the customer service person was ignorant of this fact and told us that we either had to park it in the grass or come pick up the items from the storage facility.
