PODS® Reviews
Pods ended up being the best option for our situation. We were moving out of state, but found out right before we moved that our house was not ready for us. So while we lived in a hotel, our stuff stayed in storage. This was really convenient because we didn't have to worry about moving everything several times. We also liked that we could have the Pods delivered whenever we were ready. That way, we could work with our fluid schedule, not stuck with a certain length of time that they needed to be in storage or having a date where they had to be unloaded.
Everyone was courteous and helpful every step of the process. They were always within the time frame given and let you know ahead when they would be arriving. I liked getting charged as steps were scheduled. I used them to keep the cost lower and I could schedule events as I needed. The container was clean with easy access. And all my goods arrived undamaged with very little movement. Of course the condition of the goods and movement depends on how well it was packed recommend following their packing instructions. I would use them again.
We booked PODS container because we were not sure of the actual date of occupancy. PODS gave us the option to move and store without loading and unloading. Storage for one month from drop off was included in the cost. The serviceman was very courteous and verified where we wanted the drop. I would use the company again and recommend them.
We had to store our home contents for almost 3 months before moving into our new home. Every part of our PODs experience was excellent. They arrived at my loading house clean and in good repair and on time. They were picked up as requested and stored for almost 3 months. When arrival time came I had to change the day at the last minute and it was not difficult to do. The things in the PODs came out totally fine. Nothing broken, wet, or in any way ruined. A few pillows and bedding had a slight odor is the worst of it. The company does a great job for customer service for everything I needed and the PODS worked great.
While PODS did deliver the container on time and moved it to the location where it was supposed to be, we had a very bad experience on the receiving and pick up end. The driver was rude and lazy, and PODS customer service dropped the ball on my next-day pickup request, forcing other tenants in the parking lot of my daughter's apartment complex to deal with this POD in their spaces for 7 days! When they came to pick it up, they said they couldn't do it (didn't even try) because of a car parked near the POD (which my daughter had absolutely no control over who parks there). Rescheduled 5 days later. It's still there.... PODS customer service was of the lowest quality I have experienced. They did not care about us as customers, they did nothing to expedite the pickup of the POD (even though it was their fault for not scheduling correctly). They had an "oh well" attitude. I will never use them again, and will never recommend to anyone.
I'm including this review here although I didn't actually get to use PODS, but I wanted to include my experience with them. The day before my container was due to be delivered, instead of calling me with the delivery window time, they called to say they couldn't deliver the container the next day at all. They could deliver it on Monday instead of the scheduled Friday. This would not work for me, so I cancelled the whole thing. Be warned not to use them if you MUST have your container on a certain day. I'm still waiting for the refund of the below initial charge.
Good idea but I had to ask several times and it took me 2 months to get my weight tickets. When they finally were emailed to me, it was a generic weight ticket. It did not have our account number, name,or any information that is our pods. Very disappointing and WILL NOT suggest PODS for a dity move to any of our military friends and community.
I had some trouble with container positioning. I hadn't seen the property and the driver placed the container on an incline, causing the door to bow. Additionally, despite using numerous ties, larger items (small desk) broke completely in half from container transportation. On the positive side, there are responsive, customer service is readily available, and they generally arrived on time.
They were delivered and picked up on time by very capable drivers who were looking for tips. (wore a hat stating tips accepted) They were helpful with giving directions on using the PODS. My items went into storage for 3 months. All moving blankets, wardrobe boxes, straps, locks etc. needed to be bought. They advertise insurance for property, PODS, movers etc. I took the property insurance and found out it is NOT insurance , but a coverage POD charges you with lots of loop holes. You need to take photos of all your goods, show how you boxed them, list everything and take pictures, pictures, pictures.....from the discussion I had, the LOSS would be given to a third party to settle for replacement value....how do you prove that one?
Lots of problems with PODS I don't have time to go into but just a couple, a billing issue that I can't get fixed, a lady that set me up for the 2nd schedule, Kyesha, that it took a very frustrating 1.5 hours+ to get done and I had to call back to fix it. She did not have a clue how to do it. many other problems, the locking mechinism thing is not installed right and I can't open or close it myself... I can't find out if they will fix it. Also BIGGEST PROBLEM THEY HAVE NO EMAIL ADDRESS I CAN WRITE TO AND THINGS I NEED TO COPY PASTE CANT BE SENT. THEY SEND ME DOZENS OF EMAILS BUT THEY ARE ALL NO-REPLY AND THEY ARE TOO MANY AND USELESS. Lots more but I don't have time. The first lady Patrice was helpful but I told her I could not confirm until I knew the escrow date and didn't sign the rental agreement but she started billing me anyway and it hasn't been fixed. I rescheduled for the next day with Kyesha and now I am being billed for both. Very unhappy. New day, I called AGAIN to see if I could get the double billing fixed. Spoke to Jasmine. OMG THEY EMAILED THAT THEY SET UP NEW ORDER iNCLUCING A delivery date of August 16, 2016. I DON'T NEED ANOTHER POD, DID NOT ORDER ANOTHER POD! I am still working on getting the lock fixed. Many other annoyances. Save your sanity, do NOT call PODS. You can't get an email address to reply to, the phone system does not want you to talk to anyone ... I am trying to communicate on their facebook page for god's sake. Really the worst. I am pretty sure it is a scam operation :/ Just got off phone with a Jamie, horrible. Won't even answer a simple question about the locking mechanism being fixed before they deliver the pod to me. There is much more but I don't have the time. Answers to how many sf, how long etc. are apx. This form is very inflexible :(
