PODS® Reviews
When I got an email telling me my order was cancelled, and I know I didn't cancel, I called and spoke to a very helpful young lady, after first talking to a man who was not willing to help me, I was on the phone with this young lady for almost two hours. There was a mix up in my order, no one bothered to call me and tell me my card was rejected they just cancelled the order" ; she stayed on the phone with me until she had resolved the problem. My only question is why am I paying $395 each for one 16ft and one 12 ft container. I was told the 12ft would be $177
On time. Sent lots of emails with updates. Need to include more info in the emails sent ie delivery info. Doesnt include where the POD is being delivered. Would be good to know that it is being delivered to their storage facility or a specific address. You call and get placed on hold for 15 plus minutes ...... Also my entry door two sliders were bent. I had to use skinny luggage locks as that is all that the damaged door sliders would allow. They should check that the door locks havent been stressed before delivery to new job site or offer free insurance if not able to be secured as usual. The guys packing my POD were surprised that it was like that on delivery and wasnt fixed before it was sent to me.
I would give this company negative stars if I could. They pushed my delivery date back twice leaving me with no furniture for weeks. Then they triple charged me for all service totally over $7000 and took three weeks to reimburse me-and only did so after I contacted them. They are impossible to contact; I easily spent over 2hrs on hold, twice having to hang up because the wait was so long. I will NEVER use this company again.
Once they have your order they are impossible to contact via telephone, email, or chat!! I was put on Hold three times and the call was picked up and hung up....this after waiting 10-minutes each time. I even called as a govt customer twice and those transferred calls were dropped after waiting 10-minutes each time. The pod is OK and that is the ONLY reason for giving them an "average".
The POD itself is clean and in great condition. Their website was a bit confusing in terms of how the POD was to be delivered. I tried to be very careful to have the POD delivered so that the door of the container faced my condo, but it turns out I picked the wrong option and the door faced the opposite direction. I called customer service, they corrected the mistake and were very kind about it and got it done very quickly. The customer service was excellent and so far, the POD has been great.
It was a difficult delivery to our new home, but Julian from PODs did a great job maneuvering and getting the POD right where it needed to be. The company overall was fantastic to work with. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of their Customer Portal and the professionalism of their Customer Service personnel. We were happy with the cost of the total move from California to Seattle being roughly 50% of the cost of using a traditional moving service.
Customer service was not helpful and my Pods was not transported as promised. They were "investigating" my case but still haven't returned with a response (they did call to say they haven't gotten to it yet and they wouldn't be able to do much since they were going through a system upgrade). Definitely would NOT recommend using them. I still have not been able to get ahold of anyone to get final pickup. Seems like they make it difficult to return so they can charge more.
I had high hopes for Pod. It was dropped of on the day that is was scheduled. The day is was to be picked up they said it was to wet. It was on a concrete pad with a concrete driveway. I called to tell them it was not wet. I could not get anyone to return my calls. Finally 5 days later they came and got it. The rest of the scheduled pick up times went as planned. Here is where I lost my patience. I needed a receipt for all my payments. They never emailed them and was not on my account page. Pod was going through a transition for new software and I understand that completely. But there is no reason to have to spend a full week, many hours on the phone, being transferred over and over to get a receipt. I could not get one person to put a supervisor on the phone. One lady let it slip that there was no supervisor there because she works from home. I finally threaten to sue them if they did not get me a receipt so I can get reimbursed from my employer. After about another hour they emailed them to mr.
PODS did several things well: They gave me a competitive price quote, and they delivered my belongings intact from one coast to the other. My major disappointment with PODS was in their communication, customer service, and the timeliness of their service. They simply failed to pick up our packed container on the day they promised and never informed me in any way. This caused a 3 day delay, pushing delivery from a weekend to a weekday during Christmas week. This meant that my friends could no longer help unload the POD, so I had to pay movers to do so. Plus I was without furniture or belongings for an extra 3 days.
We had a very good experience with PODs. The container was delivered to our home on time, picked up on time, transported with no shifting of our possessions, and delivered to our new home on time. We would recommend the service. The cost was more than UHaul but not having to drive our possessions ourself made the higher cost worth it.
Everything about them was a really positive experience. But, they should be more critical of who they refer for loading their POD. And they should communicate better with these movers as far as whether they really provide moving pads. I would use POD again, but I will not use the movers they refer on their website.
