PODS® Reviews
PODS is very inflexible. I provided more than 3 weeks notice and they were still unable to comply with my needs. The driver himself was wonderful but their system is not customer friendly in any way shape or form. It was frustrating. Ultimately things worked out but a move is stressful enough. They added to the stress
We were expecting a 12'x12'x16' container and a 8'x8'x16' showed up. The driver told us it was the largest size they have. The container was clean and in good condition. Customer Service was very helpful and always available. Pods was recommended by a friend who made a similar move. I would recommend them also. Luckily everything fit perfectly in the Pod.
This container was the perfect size for my move. I was a little skeptical of everything not being able to fit, because I have big furniture pieces, but it worked. I moved from GA to TX. I had a 2 bedroom 1189 sqft townhome. My pod contained 2 beds, 2 dressers, washer, dryer, u shaped sectional, a good amount of boxes and other miscellaneous toys like bikes, etc. The person delivering the POD was communicative and they delivered and picked up on time. GA to TX is a far move, 17 hours to be exact, and I didn’t want to be hassled with gassing up a Uhaul or anything. I would recommend moving with PODS when you’re moving far. It may be a little pricey, but the worry free part is worth it.
If PODS enterprise changed the details of the order AFTER confirming the order – the least they can do is CONTACT the customer and inform them on time about the change They promised to send the empty container to my home to load and scheduled for a same day pick up ( I was told I am being charged extra for the same day pick up service ) in Fort Lauderdale and to take it to PODS warehouse in Fort Lauderdale ( to be transported to Tampa) – NO ONE called me to inform me that they will NOT be providing this service ( dropping off of the PODS at my home in FORT LAUDERDALE) & I found OUT by calling to get the time of arrival of the POD – this is atrocious The customer services reps did their best to APOLOGIZE (apology does not help the customer) – I had to scramble at the last minute to get trucking company to pick up my items and take it to their warehouse in Fort Lauderdale. Why are the so-called managers / supervisors of PODS on a payroll for PODS enterprise – if they can’t responsibility and convey this to their CEO and upper management ?? and inform the customer about it? PODS CHARGED me what they had to charge and went about their business as if nothing happened – I am taking the time to write this is because – NO other customer should go through the ordeal I went through to get a trucking company at the last minute to move my items from my home to the PODS warehouse in Fort Lauderdale (to be transported to Tampa – this portion of the order PODS delivered)
Our experience was surprisingly good. I was nervous about using them because I had heard horror stories from other people about their experiences but aside from their customer service being outsourced to a foreign country, we had a good experience. I would have given them an excellent rating if not for the fact that I had to spend several hours (in total) on the phone with customer service on several occasions in order to amend delivery dates during the course of our experience. The staff on the ground here in the US was outstanding and we are now completely moved and very happy.
The PODS were expensive (we had to store them for just over a month so we were charged for two months) but it was worth the price for not having to deal with a truck and storage. 4 stars instead of 5 because we were on a tight moving schedule and one of our pods didn't get picked up from the old house when it was supposed to. I got a text at 8:00 that night from the pick up driver that said, "I can't pick up the pod. Call pod customer service". Overall, everything worked out and I would recommend PODS. It just added to stress during an already stressful move.
