Missed the delivery time by 6 hours. Chat and phone specialists were no help for 4 of those hours. They require a 4-hour load for long-distance city moves (no drop off service), so everything has to be carefully timed. Yet they can blow off an appointment no problem, no communication, no update. Went with them because they seemed to offer the best service/price combo, but really wishing I had gone with someone else.
The delivered the wrong size POD, 16 ft instead of the 12 ft POD I ordered. Then when the problem was fixed, I didn’t have the lock and blankets I had ordered, because those were in the 16 ft POD and not the 12 ft POD. It was a disaster and nightmare. I cannot comprehend how it is that difficult. People don’t pay attention, are mindless and careless.
PODS was great. Going with PODS plus movers to load and unload the container was significantly cheaper than a full-service moving company would've been. I had zero issues with PODS, and the drivers and customer service representatives with whom I interacted were super friendly and competent. I'll definitely use them again for my next move.
PODS was such a smooth process - my things stayed safe, secure, and sturdy and made it across the country in a prompt manner. They do a good job communicating with you the night before about what time they will arrive! Each driver that I spoke to was also very kind and that is always a bonus! The entire process is also decently priced, in my opinion.
I am only leaving a review of 'good' because you do not know when your POD will arrive until the day before, up until 9pm. I had a pickup and was not given the time the day before so I had to call them first thing in the morning, the day of pickup. They kept promising me it would definitely be there - AND IT WAS - but I was nervous about the process because the emails about pickup/deliver were not consistent. I will say their customer service team was FANTASTIC!!! Every person I spoke with was very helpful and they all gave me the same exact information. They know their stuff!!
Online scheduling is recommended and encouraged by them .... but does not work. Their own policies request 4-7 days lead time to get containers delivered from other areas. I called earlier than that - 9 days lead time - and was told it would be a total of 18 days before I could get my belongings delivered because of a holiday. One holiday in the middle of my delivery timeframe caused a 17 day delay? That makes no sense. Drivers damaged my new lawn. Out of 3 container deliveries, only the last one stayed around to make sure that the container door would actually open and provided assistance when it was stuck. He seemed very surprised when I mentioned to him that he was the only one. All in all, I didn't save a lot of money, and I ended up with a lot of frustration.
