PODS® Reviews
We moved from NY to Myrtle Beach, SC. PODS delivered our container to be loaded in NY on the exact date and time they said they would come. They also delivered the PODS to SC exactly when they said they would. In Both NY & SC, the PODS operators were amazing at maneuvering the "podzilla" in tight spaces. It was fascinating to watch and they were very careful regarding the landscaping. We had a 10 day gap in between closings, so PODS worked perfectly for us. You should try to set a date as soon as possible for pick up of the pods.
PODS is a great way to have your things transported. A little pricey. customer service was good and not good at times, just depended on who you got on the phone. If you use PODS make sure you cover with moving blankets anything you don't want scratched or rubbed. The vibration of being on a semi truck does a number on freezers, washers/Dryers, cabinets etc. We covered furniture yet it still was a little banged up. If you are moving high-end things, you would want to bubble wrap corners and cover/tape very, very well. That would be the only down side.
Great experience, we got the 16" pod and everything arrived 2,000 miles away intact and in good condition! Definitely get professional movers to help you pack it, I would definitely use PODS to move again if I had to, it's reasonably priced, it gave me piece of mind, and it was really cool to see the way the containers get delivered and picked up!
Three Pods from JAX FL to Raleigh NC storage. We were very pleased when we finally had the PODs delivered to our new house. Nothing damaged. This is definitely the way to go. We hired help to load the PODs and unload the PODS and they were both excellent help. We should have had 4 PODS, but hired a U-haul 26' as well. Never again. PODS for everything
EVERY TIME I have had to call customer service or spoken to a delivery driver it has been positive experience. They have all been kind, courteous, knowledgable, and able to answer all questions. I did shop around and found cheaper options, but I'm willing to pay a little more for a company that clearly spends the time to train it's employees and treats them well. Also, when asking questions of the competitors they store their containers outside - in the elements. PODS does not do that.
I'm moving 2 states away, from a condo to a detached home. I donated some major furniture, but had a lot of boxes. The POD moving & storage container concept was the best for my situation, with shifting dates & moving contents. We had a few miscommunication issues that impacted original scheduling, but overall I'd still recommend them. The POD calculator was very useful to help me choose the best size container & prioritize my items to keep or leave, based on space to pack in. Since I'm moving from a condo with open lot parking, it was a tricky keeping extra spaces open so the PODzilla could maneuver on drop off & pick up days. But ultimately the 16' POD fit nicely into one space.
After the sales person recommended a 16’ and an 8’ POD, we had to revise the order to two 16’ PODS. THE FIRST PERSON I spoke with said she’d taken care of it, and even provided an accurately recalculated amount. What she did not do was put the change order through. Just a couple of days before the PODS were to be delivered I logged in to my account and realized the second 16’ POD was never ordered. Near disaster! The second person I spoke with was fantastic; responsive, caring and darned good at her job. She fixed everything, and forwarded the change order.
