There were problems within hours after they dropped off the 1st container. Still can't get them to pick up either of the containers and it's been 3 and a half weeks. We had the containers unloaded and they are still sitting in our car parking spaces. They never moved usThey began charging us the moment they dropped the first container. Don't use them.
I used PODS for a cross-country move to save on costs versus a traditional moving company and to have a little more flexibility with timing. The containers were in good condition and everything arrived on time. Customer service was good but if moving long distances, I would recommend booking weeks or months in advance. I would definitely use PODS again.
They don't hold the amount that they say on the site and the phone they say they will hold, figure on 2/3rds of what they say, so if they say 2 POD, you need 3 PODS. We were warned by others that have used them in the past, but we trusted the "professionals" at PODS which caused us grief and not able to move everything in one trip. Also they say it easy to call to get another container, but the only easy part is the call, no containers were available until it would be too late for our move.
I also posted signs in my house where and how the boxes marked with each room were to be distributed in my home and the workers did not follow instructions causing me to have to redistribute a number of the heavy boxes throughout the house; even though I told them while they were bringing the boxes in where they should go and to follow all the signs I posted, they ignored all instruction. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND NOR WOULD I EVERY USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN
I chose PODs because I needed to store my belongings for an extended time period and they had a climate controlled indoor storage facility nearby. They delivered and picked up the POD to be moved to their storage facility as scheduled and had great equipment to deliver and pick up the POD from the parking spot.
POD people damaged the property of our neighbors and the POD itself while attempting to drop it off for loading. They also placed it facing the wrong direction despite clear documentation beforehand. Then they mishandled the POD enough to allow water to enter the POD and cause some damage to our property that way too.
PODS Unfortunately only managed to deliver one of two containers the night before and missed the emergency delivery the next day. I could not take full advantage of the great movers we had hired. While the customer service team was very nice, they just couldn’t connect and confirm with the local storage. The drivers for PODS have been great, but too many missed deliveries and poor communication makes me hesitant to recommend PODS.
They were a day late picking up our pod which caused a full week delay in receiving our pod at our new home. All of our possessions were on there. They refunded us only 395 dollars but took it back. 395 is not nearly enough considering all the extra hotels we had to book but it is better than the nothing that they decided on. We forked out an extra 1700 dollars. We have called numerous times with no luck. We were constantly put on hold. This is the worst service we have ever gotten. I will never recommend them and will be expressing this on yelp.
