From start to finish, my experience with 1-800-PACKRAT was positive. Their prices were the best I found and their ability to accommodate my moving needs were excellent. I was impressed both with the phone service staff and the actual delivery people. All were pleasant and responsive to any questions or concerns. I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to others.

Our driveway was a challenge but William had no problem precisely maneuvering our pod in the exact spot that was most convenient for us. He was professional, pleasant and polite. Awesome! 0 for the CALL CENTER !! NO call backs, NO humans answer, once you're "assigned" your Team Coordinator.. You're on your own. Good luck! ... We haven't moved yet. NOT looking forward to trying to get POD delivered. Packrats will respond on FB messenger but won't have details of your account... They forward you to call center lol
Delivery driver was very helpful and answered several questions, as did the booking agent. Container probably could have been swept out by not a big deal to me. I chose PackRat for the convenience as I was unsure if I was going to have to store the containers for a couple of weeks. I would definitely use them again.
So far, I am very happy with 1-800-PACK-RAT. My stuff is in a storage facility for the time being so I can't report yet on the total job (i.e., the condition of my stuff upon delivery). I ordered a 16-foot container for a one-bedroom apartment and I had plenty of space leftover (but I didn't have a ton of furniture). I think I could have definitely fit everything in the 12-foot container but that size isn't available for long-distance moves. The container arrived in good shape and in a clean condition. I also received a brand new unopened lock for the container, which I appreciated since I knew it would be the best kind of lock for the container. Both drivers were super communicative, calling me ahead of time to let me know when they would be arriving for drop off and pick up. I was impressed with their ability to place the container where I needed it to be. I am also very happy with the customer service at Pack Rat--all of my calls have been returned promptly and all of my questions/concerns have been handled professionally. Assuming my stuff arrives in good condition, I would definitely recommend 1-800-PACK-RAT and would use them again for future moves.
From pickup to delivery, we were very pleased with Pack Rat's containers and delivery. Customer service throughout the process was exceptional and accommodating. The containers were in very good shape and were of the sizes we needed. Loved their method of loading and unloading the containers....everything stayed level at all times. We had several glass doored cabinets and all arrived just as they left our old place and they traveled across the country from north to south. We would definitely use them again when we are in need.
Great customer service, they always called me back right away. I miscalculated and only ordered 2 containers, when the loading crew were halfway done they suggested I call and order a 3rd container. 1 800 PackRat called around immediately and were able to get it delivered the following Monday. Mind you this was on a Friday afternoon. Recalculated cost and send me an immediate updated contract. Friendly, professional and accurate staff. FYI - you will need 2 x more moving blankets than you think and their purchase price was A LOT less than Home Depot. You can rent them, but I opted to purchase.
Jesse is absolutely the best, he does everything I ask, and even anticipates what I am going to ask. It is the second time he has worked for me. His rating is Excellent. His buddy this time, however leaves something to be desired. I asked him to read all the boxes and put them in the correct rooms. For example: kitchen, dining room or living room. This week I am unpacking and I keep finding boxes in the wrong room. I am an older woman and I cannot drag the boxes from one room to another. If I did that, I would not get very many boxes emptied and I would be too tired before the job was finished for the day. Now I will have to wait till Sunday when my daughter comes to help me. It is more than a little maddening... They were on time, they were respectful of my property, worked hard, and steady.
Good price and everything worked out as exciting expected. The one area that they need to address is customer service. Trying to call and discuss your shipment with anyone (or to even get a call back) is a frustrating experience. They did do everything as promised when we signed up and our shipment was in great shape when we received it.
They were on time by 1 minute! I was very anxious but was happy when it was dropped off. I think if I had called instead of made the reservation on Line it would have been better. There was an issue with the promo code I had You can not use 1 for drop off and 1 for storage and I did not know this. They could not give me the higher amount for some reason.
The initial pick up in Austin was great. They said they would be there at a certain time and they were. Then things went south. The driver in California didn't return any of my calls, and the people at packrat didn't notify me that I might need a permit until three days before the truck arrived and the city needs five days. In the end, I didn't need the permit because putting a pod on the street is 100% illegal in Los Angeles and the lady at pack rat later told me that everyone who works there knows that and it should have been the first thing I was told. It was a nightmare. Also, the driver was over 2.5 hours late on the day of the delivery and if I didn't pester him to give me a time I doubt he would've called. He had a bad attitude when he got there and left without asking me to sign any paperwork.
