Pack Rat was a fair price and the furniture was in good shape when it arrived. I would use them again and recommend them also. Their customer service was very good. I moved in June/July during a very busy time. So, I added a bit of buffer (3 days) between the projected arrival and the day my movers would unload the box. I highly recommend using a buffer because my arrival date slipped 2 days and almost a third. My only recommended change would be this: Be sure to tell folks that containers might be delivered outside the 9AM to 5 PM window. I live in a city and had to reserve parking spaces and only reserved it for business hours and it was a crazy scramble trying to reserve 3 spaces (approx 51 feet) for the truck and container at the last minute. Also, if your customer has a late delivery (mine was 10:30PM), I would try to schedule that customer for an earlier pickup.
Pack Rat delivered the container on time and the driver was very careful about backing into my driveway. the pickup of the container was as scheduled. the only issue i had was that i was not aware that the pad lock was not included with the pack rat unit, so i had to go buy a pad lock. i wish this had been clarified up front. Other than that, good experience.
The customer service was very good. We had a special situation where we needed a Pac-Rat right away and they were able to deliver it within a couple of days. We also needed it moved long distance from Chicago, IL to Denver, CO. It stayed in storage for a couple of weeks in Denver then had it delivered to Littleton, CO. Then it was picked up in Littleton, CO and delivered to Colorado Springs, CO. They were very helpful getting all this coordinated. I would have liked better status emails on what was going to happen next. I got some, but didn't get one when it was going to be picked up in Littleton and delivered to Colorado Springs. Also, I wish they could give a better delivery/pick up window instead of sometime between 7am and 11pm. I also wish the website had more information on how to load the container properly and what is expected when it is picked up empty. Like, for long distance moves it should say, keep the lock, leave the blankets in the container. But I wold still use them again - definately.
The company provided good information, was honest and delivered what they promised they'd do. Good customer service. They're very available by phone and they even called me to ask whether I needed more time to pack as they saw I didn't have the container scheduled at my house for very long. Nice to see they help you anticipate potential problems.
They are not on time. They seem to have excuses why that is. They have a warehouse in pompano FL. but its going to take them 3 days to pick up a empty container in Boynton Beach, FL. this container is parked on a street in a gated community where you are not allowed to park your car on the street. They were also very late in picking up my full container MA
The move out end of Packrat was awful. Didn't show up when promised, misinformation given at time of order, on the whole a moving night mare. All worked out in the end, but we will see how the delivery end goes. Lots more to the story, but to long to tell. However, one of my drivers was great. Dan, he kept me informed and was very nice. FYI if you need Tucson delivery. They only deliver on M, W and F. Then only one unit at a time. That means they force you to pay for a months storage. Best of luck on your move!
Unfortunately, the trucks showed up very late in the day and in the evening (11PM) and we had less than 24 hours to pack them before being picked the following morning and afternoon. The drivers were friendly and careful. It was our understanding that they had 2 trucks out of service and that is why the delay. Aside from this, I'd still recommend them.
Horrible customer service! Made a mistake on my order, were rude when it needed to be corrected. Overcharged me, did not come at the scheduled times. Rat Pack refused to commit to specific times even when it was critical because of THEIR original mistake and the closing on my house. long wait time on the phone, no supervisor called me back. Extremely poor tracking of what was going on, every call was a completely different answer. Overall just a horrible, stressful, expensive experience. I would NOT recommend them at all.
