To be fair, we were not the first job of their day. Our scheduled movers did not show and we were in a bind, given we had a truck and limited time. I had informed Hire A Helper that we had several levels, 3 story townhouse, but for some reason that did not come across to B&C moving. We were moving from single story to townhouse, late in the day, so things did not go as planned. Upon arrival at new residence, we were informed by them that the charged extra for more than one story, we agreed to pay. Thing went down hill from there. They damaged walls bring in furniture (large pieces of plaster on corners was chipped off), deep scratches in walls and ceilings). The shoved my sofa up the stairs, until it was apparent it would become wedged. Damaged the shelf (broke it off) on an antique desk. My husband had to help the three men get furniture up stairs and finally had them unload most of it on first floor or in garage. Just to safe us from further damage. We were charged full price for their service and extra $40 for stairs. Not a good experience.

These guys are hard workers and came prepared with the things they needed to handle the big stuff. They even brought an extra helper. I hired two helpers for four hours and ended up with three helpers for a little under two hours. They did arrive about an hour and a half late and seemed in a hurry to finish quickly. Unfortunately, they also showed less care for walls and furniture than I'd have liked. I have some dings and scratches to attend to. I had them put most everything in the garage, because I'm having carpets replaced, and they made little effort to place things in any semblance of order. Pretty much a big random pile of my stuff to sort through. Would have preferred a more thoughtful approach. The third helper they brought along was clearly inexperienced and lacked the proper body mechanics to move awkward and heavy items with any care. I was their last customer of the day and kind of felt as if they were just trying to get out of here as fast as they could. Nice guys and all, but could use some polish to their operation.

Though the helpers were one and a half hours late from circumstances beyond their control, the movers were conscientious and helpful in moving our belongings. They worked hard. I would use them again.
