Awful experience. I’ve moved several times and have hired through Hire a Helper with no problem before, but this was not one of those times. They did show up on time, but that’s about where it started going downhill. Firstly they were so slow. I’d scheduled 3 hours with no stairs and the pod was in the driveway. All boxes were localized in one location. They ended up asking to use my dolly so they could speed things up and it did not. One of them was on the phone the entire time and wasn’t fully paying attention.
They loaded my pod horribly. I’ve moved with a pod a few times and have seen them loaded well and fully expected everything to fit with room to spare because I’ve used this exact pod size before. About halfway into packing stuff in they were complaining that everything wasn’t going to fit. Well the way they packed it, not everything did fit and I ended up having to leave my washer and dryer and everything was packed so poorly I had damages to boxes and furniture.
All the boxes were packed in the back with my dresser and 2 mattresses. The rest of my furniture (couch, chair, tv stand, desk, bookcases) were loaded last and not properly loaded and secured hence damage. When my unloader mover’s unpacked they commented on it being an “amateur” job and pointed out box damage as to why you don’t stack boxes from floor to ceiling. The pod was clearly unbalanced when loading and unloading from the truck. The front half of the container was only filled halfway up the wall with a ton of empty space. If packed correctly my washer and dryer would have easily fit.
Overall very unsatisfied with my experience and would absolutely never recommend them.

After booking with Key Movers my customers can expect a phone call within 24 hours of booking to confirm a time and place for their move. We will also go over your inventory items and discuss supplies needed to meet your satisfaction.

When Hiring Key Movers we will be on time, move fast and efficient, and let our customers know exactly how the move will go.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Customers should make sure things are cleared out the walkway and make sure all items are packed up reasonably. Please let us know where to park and also plan for your pets.
What types of moves have you handled?
My company has handled local, long distance, and office moves.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
I love to load the trucks up because its like a game of Tetris. Seeing the overall picture of how so many items can neatly stack into a truck amazes me. Also just being able to help and see the smile on my customers face motivates me even more.
