Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were frustrated with the situation involving your shipment. However, we would like to clarify several important points regarding the service provided.

Our movers arrived on time, worked continuously throughout the scheduled service, and completed the job as requested. At the time of service, you specifically requested that our movers fit all of your household belongings into the POD/container, including your husband’s weights and other household items. Our crew made every reasonable effort to accommodate that request and successfully loaded the belongings into the container.

At no point prior to or during the service was a specific weight limit communicated to our company or our movers. We were not provided with a weight restriction that we were expected to remain under, nor were we provided with a scale or any equipment that would allow our movers to determine the total weight of the loaded container.

It is also important to clarify that the container was selected and provided by the transportation/container company. Our company did not select the container size, establish its weight capacity, or determine whether the shipment would ultimately exceed its allowable weight. We relied on the container provided and on the instructions given to us to load the household belongings.

Once we were informed that the shipment exceeded the transportation company’s weight limitations, we did offer to come back out and provide additional assistance. However, our company had already completed the originally booked service. Returning to the location would have required our movers to travel approximately 50 minutes each way, and additional labor would therefore need to be treated as a new paid service. We unfortunately cannot send employees back out for additional labor at no charge after the original service has been completed, particularly when the original service was successfully performed as requested.

We completely understand that this situation was frustrating and stressful, and we would have preferred for everything to go smoothly. However, the weight limitation was not something our movers were made aware of beforehand, and there was no practical way for our crew to determine that the container would be overweight without the transportation company providing that information or the proper equipment to weigh the shipment.

Our responsibility was to provide the labor that was booked, and our movers fulfilled that responsibility by arriving on time, working the scheduled service without taking breaks, and making every reasonable effort to fit the belongings into the container as requested.

We respectfully believe the review should distinguish between the moving labor service we provided and the transportation/container company’s responsibility for container size and weight limitations.

We appreciate your business and regret that the transportation portion of your move resulted in an unfortunate situation. We hope this clarification provides additional context regarding what occurred.
