I have been in business for close to 20years and Mr.Shields takes the cake both in being highly deceitful, as well as completely unreasonable.
28ft ABF, completely full front to back, top to floor, dropped in the street due to slopped driveway, split level home with 2 flights as soon as you walk in the door. Extremely big and heavy solid oak furniture. This customer booked 2 movers 2hrs. When I spoke to him the day before, he claimed he had other guys that will be on site helping because I clearly indicated this was not possible to complete with two movers. Definitely not for the 2hrs but in this summer heat will have the guys burn out. It is both more efficient and cost effective to have more guys helping to complete safely and in good timing.
Crew arrives on site and his idea of other guys helping are 2 clearly 55-60+ year older gentleman who one can tell where in no way physically capable to assist in any meaningful way. His so called help left after about a hour because they could see his ridiculous the situation was. Our two movers worked alone for about 6.5hrs and only had about 2-3ft left before one of our movers completely burnt out couldn’t continue any longer.
“ I am a groan ass man and I have loaded and unloaded a upack myself”. Do we all see how completely unhinged and delusional this guy is? He is claiming he loaded and unloaded a 28ft ABF trailer all by himself. Even a layman knows that is physically impossible and plain lies. Also the movers sent to you did not have any other moves prior as yours was a 9am scheduled move. How can they have completed 2 other jobs then get to you at around 9:42am? Your move was scheduled for a 9am-10am arrival window so 9:42am is not arriving late.
We have learned our lessons from this move and going forward will refuse to even begin the job if we are misled on having the right help available after recommending more guys. This would have saved us having to deal with these lies, smears and ridiculous expectations. 2 movers for 28ft completely full ABF, in the street, split level home? Come on this is plain wrong

Mike showed up on time, the 2nd mover didn’t show. He had everything loaded and then unloaded at the new place in 4 hours. He worked really hard and efficiently. I would definitely recommend him.

Absolutely fantastic pair of movers. They arrived on time, and managed to fit ALL of my stuff in 2 moving pods! They were professional, quick, and so respectful. This was the best move I've done, thanks to them!

They workers did not come prepared, no moving equipment at all. They even had to borrow our dolly. One of them came late. They did not take good care of the furniture at all. We provided mattress and furniture covers but they did not use them. They did not even finish the loading. We had to call our son-in-law to finish the job.
We will never use them again.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
It helps to be properly packed up. Boxes taped up and loose items boxed or bagged ready to go. Also blankets for wrapping wood and other delicate items should be made available. Pathway from the home, through the door way to the truck should be kept clear as possible so as not to interfere with the smooth, efficient and safe movement of items from the home to the truck or container

What's your favorite part about being a mover?
We love making customers happy and getting very positive feedback. One of my favorite parts is when a customer seems so worried about how they will get it all done but are all smiles and exuberant when we start clearing out things quickly and efficiently. The change from worried to pure joy and happiness can be quite fulfilling.
What training do you provide your crew members?
We make sure all our movers are able to properly lift all items safely. New crew members are made to shadow our tenured & highly experienced movers to show them how we get our moves done. This also includes paying attention to details as well as courteous customer interactions. We start them with simple, quick moves and gradually scale them up to more intricate, bigger moves as they show proficiency and ability to grasp the essentials.
