I don’t usually write negative reviews, and I hesitated before posting this one which I am going to post on the public site in case you remove bad reviews. The movers were genuinely nice people, but they were not professional movers, and unfortunately that made a huge difference.
I had the opportunity to compare them with another moving crew that was loading a 28-foot truck at the same time. The difference in skill, organization, and preparation was obvious.
My movers loaded heavy boxes on top of small boxes, causing stacks to become unstable. As more weight was added, boxes collapsed repeatedly. The truck was equipped with a lift gate, which should have made the job easier, but once the lift reached the ground, they struggled to move the boxes over the small gap between the lift and the pavement. Several boxes fell to the ground, including boxes containing crystal glasses, china, and other fragile kitchen items. I’m afraid many of them were broken.
They also caused an entire stack of boxes inside my storage unit to collapse against one wall. At that point, I stepped in and started directing where every box should be placed myself. Once I did that, the stacks remained stable.
Communication was also very difficult. The movers did not speak English, and I don’t speak Spanish, so I had to ask another professional mover nearby to translate.
Another major issue was that they arrived without basic moving supplies. The professional crew next to us came fully prepared with moving materials and secured stacks of boxes together with tape before transporting them on dollies. Their process was efficient, organized, and clearly based on experience. The contrast between the two crews was striking.
When the manager called me I expressed my concerns during the move, I felt he dismissed them instead of addressing the problems. Meanwhile, the clock kept running, and I was being charged by the hour while I was helping organize the move myself. After everything was finished, he called again, and I explained that the movers were kind and hardworking, but they simply were not trained professional movers. Being nice is important, but moving requires experience and proper technique to protect customers’ belongings. He was fair enough to not count the extra hour.
I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I believe future customers deserve to know what to expect. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service
