Date was moved after it was confirmed.
Was originally told they would arrive late morning on the new day after they finished another job. Called again to confirm was Now told 1 o’clock.. call at 1:15 and was told between two and three. They arrived at three complained the entire time about how the day before they were budgeted for eight hours for a job and it took almost 16 hours. The movers were young and frustrated about the work.
I was told immediately that there was no way they would be done in the three hours that was estimated. I told him that was not a problem. I was willing to pay the extra hours as necessary because everything had to within the next 24 hours. After 2 1/2 hours I checked on them. They were about 60% complete and said they would not be moving any more boxes and would just get the furniture done. This was the third floor move, so it was definitely a task, but they were told this information ahead of time. At the three hour mark, they told me that they were no longer moving anything they were told to call it a day by their bosses. The mover felt very bad and told me he really appreciated me not freaking out on him. I own a Small Business. I understand things happen, but we were just left high and dry. To their credit, they did move everything that they did get into the truck into her new apartment before quitting.
Up hiring a different moving company who bailed me out and showed up the next day to finish their job. The name of that company was Kings Moving in the Wilmington, NC area. I could not recommend them enough.
