My movers were wonderful! They came right on time and were helpful, quick, and made the whole process no stress. Courtney even came a bit early because it wasn't communicated to him that I had called and scheduled the move for a bit later and he was very respectful about the miscommunication. I would hire them again!

We were very satisfied with ProMove! We used a 2 man crew to help us unload 2 ReloCubes with U-Pack in New York. It was easy to book online and their prices were the best that I found after a lot of research, especially because there was no stair fee (we live in a 3 flight walk up). Azar and Rahim arrived 15 minutes early and had great communication. They worked hard and fast and were respectful of our belongings. Would definitely use them again!

Eric, Raheem, and Justin helped me with the move. They worked hard but I had an issue after the move as I noticed items with clear labels and up arrows or fragile notes were not cared for. Initially kirk confirmed the 3 movers and 4 hrs would be the right amount of workers/time. During the move, I talked to Kirk as was clear the work would be done within 2 hrs He said they cannot help me after unloading and I cannot receive a partial refund for the unused 2 hours. I clarified and Kirk refused to allow the movers to unbox items or help organize boxes/items in the correct room (Boxes and furniture were left in the random rooms although they had clear labels for "kitchen", "bathroom", "bedroom", etc. The movers ended up leaving after the 2 hours without providing the full 4 hours of service. The moving labor is not just "moving" the items in haphazardly for the sake of speed. Also, I was pressured to release the payment and write 5 star review as Eric watched over BEFORE they finished the work.

Edit: Kirkland’s response below is factually incorrect and an attempt to deflect accountability. One of the movers arrived 15 minutes late, they rushed through the unload in 2 hours, and left. When I called Kirkland during the move to utilize the remaining 2 hours of paid time for organizational moving related tasks, he refused. I never asked the movers to "set up" anything. Kirkland himself admitted to misunderstanding what I was asking for within the additional 2 hours and I clarified the moving services (see above) and that I was NOT asking for assembling or "set up". I also have the phone logs and the photos of the resulting damage to my belongings due to carelessness and ignoring notes. Future customers, beware. Please note other movers offer partial refunds for unused time after a 2 hour minimum.

This is Kirk, ProMove team lead.
Eric ASKS for 5 star reviews after the job is done because he feels he earned it as he usually does. We ask each customer to release payment because that's how we are paid. Placing boxes upside down is not best practice but I'm pretty sure they were careful with fragile boxes as usual. Your problem was that there was no refund for unused time, we have to block off time for your move and forego other work. Our crews are organized & efficient so they sometimes get done very quickly. Don't lie, you asked if they could help "setup", I asked you to clarify then I told you the crew will do any moving related work gladly. We worked hard, we worked well. But you try to spite us with a bad review that we don't deserve. We still thank you and everyone for hiring us, we appreciate it.
.....addendum.. Ma'am, Eric is a superb mover & a gentle polite sweetheart of a person, him pressuring you is hard to believe. He wouldn't have asked for a 5 star review if he thought they did a bad job, now would he? I expressly said they'd do any moving related tasks, btw, we do help with assembly. Why would I refuse to have movers do moving tasks? You booked 3 helpers for 4 hours, when you asked I said that should be OK. I wouldn't know exactly what you have in the truck or how your building is. All these problems pop up now since there was no refund. Other reviews before and after yours will attest to our high standard of work.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

We always show up! On time arrival within the first 20 minutes of the one hour window, with an experienced, professional and courteous crew.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

Please have items packed and ready to go (large boxes not too heavy please), furniture blankets to protect your stuff, appropriate size truck for the move. Then wooosah! we got you, you're things are in capable hands.

What types of moves have you handled?

Local, Long distance, Office, Commercial, Specialty moves (larger & fragile and very expensive medical equipment).

What's your favorite part about being a mover?

No gym membership needed, we get paid to exercise. Our worksite is different everyday & we interact with new people.

What training do you provide your crew members?

Two weeks of moving technique (lifting, turning, angles), teamwork, pacing, basic disassembly/reassembly and materials handling as well as customer service is our basic training. Then our most experienced movers ( Courtney, Eric, Yusef, Azar, Kirk) have advanced training for loading moving vans.
