Moving day went super well thanks to the Steve and his helper! They arrived on time and went above and beyond what I expected from movers. They put my bed frame together better than it has ever been! I appreciate their help and eye for safety of my furniture. Highly recommend!!
My arrival time for the movers was between 8am and 9am.by 9:05am I was already getting stressed out that this was a no show. I called Pack Rat and they got in touch with Stephen. Very unprofessional and unorganized?? Which part of the four times you had us come out was the unprofessional or unorganized part. Was it the fact that I did not charge you for the overages on the second POD when we worked late into the night? Steve and his crew worked very hard, were extremely accommodating and helpful as we ran into some space challenges with the Container we rented. They went above and beyond to make it all work out and helped to minimize the stress of the move. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat!
The guys from Tri Country were great. They were each very pleasant to deal with and hard working. Had a little problem with start time but that was resolved. They did an excellent job filling the pod and making sure my belongings wouldn't get damaged. Also did some extra tasks which helped me very much. I appreciated the questions they asked which caused me to rethink how I was handling things.

We finally finished with the unit and were well over the time frame that I budgeted and planned for. We leave to come to the house and I receive a call from one of the movers that they are broken down on the freeway and want me to come and get them. That was when I phoned Steve the owner of the company and informed him of the days events. I personally requested Steve because he had moved me in 2013 and did a wonderful job, treated my antiques with respect. This time was not the case. I have broken items that were not informed to me but the pieces placed on the items themselves. Priceless family pieces that I am 3rd and 4th generation to have them and now are broken. I informed him we had some special circumstances that required a packing expert for a container as well as carts or some type of transportation to get our belongings to the pod. It sounded as though he had written everything down but clearly he had not. After calling him every week prior to our move to ensure that they knew of our special situation I thought we were in the clear. When the 2 guys showed up on moving day they were surprised to find out that our container was up a hill over 600 feet away. Which I had told Steve about numerous times at this point. However the van showed up and there were 2 people in it. At the end of the move they wanted to charge us for the additional people that I had not authorized to come. Some stuff got misplaced around the house, but overall the guys that ended up showing up were good people and we got everything done that we were hoping to. I got 20% off for the delay, which I certainly appreciate, but between the extremely poor and scattered communication and the enormous delay in what was a tight schedule for me, I don't think I'll be using them again after the stress-fest that day turned out to be. To be fair, I'm 90% sure this is the exception given the other glowing reviews, so if you're considering them don't let this deter you too much.
I would definitely use Tri-County Movers again. They were professional and totally respected of all my furnishings. They made this part of my move extremely pleasant and not stressful at all. They definitely did it in a timely manner and I just let them do their job. Perfectly. Thank you.....Sallie

It was a hectic day with lots of communication necessary to get everything set up. However, once the team arrived they made short work of emptying my PODS container. They did a great job. The whole truck was unloaded in 2 hours, which was pretty awesome considering they had to go up stairs and around a corner. They were nice and worked hard. They wrapped and unwrapped stuff in the blankets very quickly and expertly.
These guys were great. They had the entire 17 foot truck loaded in a little over 2 hours and they were very polite and friendly. They worked very hard in very hot weather with no air conditioning. Not a single thing was broken or damaged. They were a little late, but called to let us know and it didn't affect anything.
We needed help unloading two large relo-cubes and after reading the reviews on HireAHelper, we decided on Tri-County Movers. Good news, bad news. The good news is that once the movers arrived they did a great job. Moved some very heavy stuff up some difficult stairs and did not do any damage to the house or furnature. I left three messages and sent an email to try to confirm the details of my move. The two movers that were hired to move my apartment were 15 minutes early, and worked above and beyond their duties. I was disappointed from the very start, they show up without the equipment they state is included in the price. They damaged my couch and tv. One of the guys smelled like alcohol. I feel completely ripped off and every time I look at my 6 month old couch it will be terrible reminder. I would never use this company again.
Tri-County Movers stepped in to help us last minute on a job in California, while we are located in Texas. Steve stayed in touch with me through out the days they worked for us letting me know how everything was coming along. I was very impressed with his professionalism, and I will not hesitate to use Tri-County Movers again.
Our movers called and arrived early. They had all the supplies necessary to perform the job expediently. They were friendly, quick, careful, and completed the job in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend Stephen and his helper to anyone in the area. Thank you for a positive experience.
We had a little trouble getting started but once we were underway I was very surprised about what a wonderful, professional job they did. We were very happy with the help provided by Brian and Christian. They were a bit late because they got stuck in traffic, but once they arrived they were friendly, professional, and competent. We originally booked them to help us move our piano, but when they got there, they assessed that the piano actually needed 3 movers (…Read Morewe only had 2 there), and said they would be happy to help us arrange another pick up time later. While this was slightly inconvenient, I was extremely thankful that they didn't just try to move it on their own. My piano is my baby and I would be heartbroken if it got damaged. They made the right call.
They were scheduled to show at 9am and work until 11a. They arrived at 8:30 and stayed until 10:30 instead, which still worked out for me. I had already started moving things myself so they went right to work. I am very happy with the service and will use them again.
Tri-County movers added stress to my move by not showing up on time and not providing the supplies they said they would have. The owner ended up staying and completing the job with the helpers to be sure it was done right. Once they showed up, things went smooth and they completed the job in only 1 hour.
Started out average but ended up awful. I let a LOT of stuff roll off my back. And in fact was even called "Super Mike" by the very guys hired to help me move. (story to come later). But I simply can't sit by any longer and not express my utter disgust with this company. From the beginning there was something a little off ab…Read Moreout them. First, they never contacted me to confirm. I ended up calling the office line and the owner's cel phone. When Steve got back to me he was very apologetic and agreed that someone should have called me before then. No big deal at all if that was where it ended. Michelle finally called to confirm but it went to my voice mail. So the next day from the road I called her back and went to her voice mail but assured her that I was coming and was going to be there on time and that I had already confirmed with Steve the owner. She calls back again and I confirm with her in person (now for the third time confirming) that indeed I was going to be in LA as scheduled. Again, no big deal, more of a funny annoyance at the time. Then I arrive in LA ahead of schedule and Edgar the mover calls me to confirm that I was going to be there on time. At this point I was like, you have got to be kidding me, but still laughing I told Edgar that I had now confirmed four different times and that yes I was already there ahead of schedule. Edgar was really excited with this news and said he'd be there early. Great! Wrong. Edgar showed up late. Still no big deal. I was friendly and just excited to be in LA. Now I live on the 3rd floor and there's no elevator. I also have really nice actual wood and very heavy (read not cheap IKEA particle board) furniture. I informed TriCounty movers of this ahead of time when I filled out the form to hire them. But of course that information wasn't given to Edgar. That being said, Edgar was a sport. He apologized for being late and vouched that they could get my furniture upstairs undamaged b/c they know several "magic tricks". I said great and told them I'd help them carry boxes up. Then Edgar made the comment that his helper friend needed to get out of the car and start helping. I said nothing. Eventually we were able to pull his helper out of the car to start working and we started the process. Edgar's helper was NOT made to be a mover. He was furious about the stairs and was honestly flat out lazy. Edgar yelled at him several times to keep working and was getting very frustrated with him as time went on. I feel for the man - it was hard work. But you know what? I didn't ask him to be a mover. He chose to do the job. So ummm pick up some boxes and move. I continued working through out moving multiple boxes up by hand while Edgar and his helper used dollies. Finally came time for the big furniture. They were really rough on my couch. Knocking it into walls and flipping it onto the platform. At this point I was a nervous wreck and it was breaking my heart. I actually politely reminded them that the dresser couldn't be treated that way and Edgar said "OK Boss, we'll get it up there". And I continued muscling up boxes three at a time. When they finally moved the dresser, I thought Edgar's helper was going to have a heart attack. Again I felt terrible for the guy, but again, why did he sign up to be a mover?? So they decided to dolly up the dresser. Made the most sense. And in Edgar's defense, he did put a furniture pad around the dresser to protect it. However, (I'm sure you know where this is going) but when all was said and done, the top of the dresser was permanently bruised from the bolts in the dolly. Now in my defense, I never raised my voice, I never yelled or cussed, and everyone will vouch that I handled myself very professionally. We continued on with the job and even though they took a small 5 minute break, I never stopped moving boxes. We finished the job in just two hours, exactly the time scheduled. However, that's when Edgar called me Super Mike saying that the only way they finished was b/c I worked my butt off, AND laughed and said "is that how they do it back in Cincinnati?" Yes boys, that is how we do it back in the midwest. We work the job til we get it done. So at the end they wanted me to sign damage waivers and pay them. I politely refused saying I wouldn't sign or pay anything until I talk to Steve about what next steps were for the furniture. Edgar was furious saying he wouldn't get paid until I released payment. I apologized and said he needed to take that up with Steve. At that point, with Edgar as my witness, I called Steve and left him a voice mail explaining the situation and even defended Edgar saying that he tried his best to protect my furniture, but the fact remained that it had been damaged. But since it was a voice mail, I didn't feel resolved and so I sent Edgar home without signing anyhting or releasing payment. Within minutes Michelle called and was very sweet and apologetic. Again, I never raised my voice and we had a very nice polite and professional conversation about my experience. She was very apologetic and assured me that they would take care of me in every way shape or possible, but that I needed to go ahead and release payment. So I agreed with the proviso that steps would be taken to ammend the damage. That was now exactly two weeks ago, and guess what, have HEARD NOTHING from Tri-County Movers. NOT A THING! Obviously I'm not going to let this die. But I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend these movers to anyone.
As for my input from the help we received from Edgar and Mario, they did a really good job, they were quick and had a great sense of humor. I say this because I …Read Morehad difficulty with the owner, Stephen Russell. To be fair I want to say that I had some difficulty obtaining the truck that I was renting to move the furniture to the helper location. I notified Stephen that I would not make the scheduled time of 2:00 PM, however, in that I had sceduled for 2 hours time I was confident that I would arrive before 3:00 PM and that would give them sufficient time to unload the 6 peices of furniture. Stephen said that would be fine because he was at another location and was running behind. Bottom line it wasn't until 6:00 PM that Christian and John arrived. They informed me that they were notified at 5:00 PM of the assignment. That tells me that Stephen was not totally honest with me. as he had said that they would be there at 4:00 Pm and Again at 5:00 PM. Bottom line is that the actual service from Christian and John was outstanding. Unfortunately, I cannot say tht for Stephen. My rating goes to Christian and John only.

They were very efficient and hard workers, and did it all with a smile. They were very easy to work with and made the whole ordeal very simple and easy. This team was awesome... if only they could help me unpack when my stuff got to Washington! Thanks!
Excellent Work! The workers did a very good job of filling all space in the truck and keeping things from moving around during a long move.
