COVID-19 With the covid-19 alert, we would like to share the steps taken by St James Movers, LLC to prevent the spread. First, if you are a moving company who cannot get the supplies, you should not be moving anyone. With that said, our preventive methods are as follows: 1) We wipe our hands with Clorox wipes incrementally 5 times during every job. 2) We wear gloves throughout the course of the move except for the rare moments that we are handling your mattresses.(gloves leave dark handprints on the mattresses.) 3) We also use hand sanitizer at least a couple times periodically during each job. 4) We are wiping down every piece of your furniture before it leaves the truck with Clorox wipes that kill the the Human Coronavirus. Most of these steps were implemented decades ago but with the recent covid-19 scare, we have been diligent in doing our part to make sure every safety measure is adered to. Now, as applicable to Everyday moving companies, the following differentiates St James Movers, LLC from the run of the mill moving and storage companies. With over 60 years combined experience, there is no task too large or too small. We have a motto here at St. James Movers, LLC...."Moving Made Simple." We take the approach of making a little off alot of people in lieu of attempting to retire off of each job. Compare our prices and it becomes clear very quickly that you DO NOT have to spend a fortune to get quality work.

Not much to review , they were a no show. He had a bunch of excuses way, which were all lies. Wanted to pay me for the charges and let everything go through so it wouldn’t show up as a no show on him and he wouldn’t get a bad review. Wonder how many other good reviews are paid for?

Very polite and professional. Two movers arrived on time but were unprepared because they did not bring tools, a dolley, or hand truck. After I was assured by the owner or lead they would. I was fortunate for having my own tools. This lack of hand truck caused them to pick up and carry one box at time, thus causing them work overtime. I would still highly recommend.
This review is rather difficult to explain. As owner, it is my job to insure everyone is satisfied with the service provided. The original team assigned to your job had an accident the morning of your move. We had to send two men that were off that day due to the emergency.
They did not even have thre opportunity to go by the inductee and pick up tools, a truck, etc. The job took 4.5 hours. We reduced these time by half to account for any deficiencies. Obviously, a lack of a dolly does not add twice the time. We paid the men for 4.5 hours and performed 4.5 hours of service while only receiving 2.75 hours of pay. Considering the conditions, this was the only customer friendly option we had. Thank you for the review and Business-friendly recommendation.

Thank you for giving us a call. Your job was not the most complicated in the world but on the other hand, if it had not been done correctly, you could have a lot of damage during transport. Desmund told me that he used half a roll of shrink wrap on this thing. If that is the case, I guarantee you it cannot budge. Regardless, we are thankful that you gave us the opportunity to work. Thank you for allowing us can handle this move. Your move was rather distinct in that we handled the load and unload. Generally speaking, most people hire labor on the front side and then hire another crew after they have driven the truck cross country. Your job was different in that you were only moving up the road but had to keep your belongings in storage for 5 days. The way you approached it was absolutely brilliant. So that everyone knows, we loaded the truck for you, you locked it up and kept it for 5 days. We came to your new residence five days later and unloaded the truck. When a mover does such, he takes the risk not knowing how the truck will be treated. It turns out, you we're absolutely great. When this truck was unlocked, your belongings were in the exact same place they were in when we left. Accordingly, I want to thank you for allowing us to handle this but also, thank you for taking care to drive the truck safely in the process. Working for you was absolutely fantastic.

He was VERY respectful of my furniture and home and just a hard worker. It’s so nice to see people that take pride in their job..
Thank your for allowing us the opportunity to work for you. I promise to you when we began talking that we would be there. I also promise to you at your furniture would be handled in this fashion that it would be received in the same shape as it was when we arrived. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to pick up furniture and move it from point A to point B. It only takes someone who cares about what they are doing and someone who truly understands what sentiment means. I've been fortunate enough over the last three decades to have men who have understood just that. It has turned out that my good fortune has been good fortune for a lot of others as well. I had to change my arrival time and they were very accommodating.
We used them for moving my son into an apartment in Troy. (Chaotic college move in day).
Others were not having success with the moving companies they chose. I will be using St. James again.
I send the same two boys to just about every one of these hireahelper moves. They absolutely enjoy these labor only jobs. Of course, they assist in much larger move where we provide the truck and so forth but essentially, they are focused on these labor only jobs. After hearing what you have to say about them, I am reminded that this is almost the exact description that is echoed job after job. They really do a good job.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
An initial call will be received before the booking is accepted. Once we have worked out the details, the expectations of the job, then a periodic text or call is given in order to make sure the job description remains. From time to time the needs of a customer can change.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
We will call or text a customer the night before our move date. Good morning of the move, we call or text once we begin driving do the job site. When we arrive, an introduction is given to each employee and then we analyze the job. What's the job is analyzed, we execute the job fully.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
The best thing a customer can do is be accessible to the Mover. A good moving company will know what is the best way to approach any given job.
What types of moves have you handled?
We have handled pretty much every kind of move imaginable. Currently, we are in the middle of a joint move where in a couple that is engaged are moving in together in Minneapolis. The catch to this move is that she lives in the Netherlands. We are moving her from the Netherlands to Minneapolis and moving him from Atlanta to Minneapolis. That is only one of the jobs we are overseeing currently. We just returned from Sacramento, CA and have a job going to Hageman, NY tonight(4/12/19).

What training do you provide your crew members?
We have 3 instructional videos that each mover must watch before going into the field. However, that's just the beginning. A new mover must spend a minimum of a year working with a crew chief before that mover is allowed on to a job site without supervision.
