We were disappointed with our experience. We informed the company ahead of time that we were moving from a two-level, two-bedroom townhome-style apartment, yet the crew arrived with a truck that was too small and had to make two separate trips. That alone added unnecessary time to the move.
We had three movers, but there didn’t seem to be an organized system in place. At one point, it took all three movers about an hour to disassemble one bed and another hour to reassemble it at the new apartment. The pace throughout the move was much slower than expected, and we even found ourselves helping move items to keep things moving.
We provided the crew with drinks and lunch, but the move still took seven hours. We’ve used professional movers more than four times before, and moving approximately 50 boxes and 10 large pieces of furniture has never taken anywhere near that long.
The estimate included three hours for $800, but because the move went so far over, we were charged an additional $540 at $140 per hour. In our opinion, the extra time and charges were not justified given the lack of efficiency and preparation. While the movers were courteous, we left feeling that the job could have been completed much more efficiently and at a much lower cost.
