I have used Hire a Helper many times and have never left anything except a 5 star review - until now. The guys were nice, but were clearly rushing to get done early instead of taking the time to be sure everything was right. While they kept asking if everything was satisfactory, they often did so as they were walking by and didn't wait for an answer or for me to check out what they had done.
I intentionally added a cushion to the anticipated unload time, and prepaid for an additional 2 hours specifically because I needed them to put everything in the correct room and exactly where I need it. (I am not physically able to move heavy boxes or furniture around after the fact for health reasons.) They tried to get me to sign off on the app so they could leave, but 1/2 the boxes were just piled up in the garage. I told them they had to move those to the appropriate room - kitchen, bedroom, etc. They did it, but begrudgingly. Keep in mind, I still had 1 1/2 hours left on my paid hours at this point.
I also asked them to lift the mattress so I could put the bed ruffle on. I tried to do this before the mattress was put on, but they put the mattress down before I had a chance. Anyhow, he told me that they get paid for the move only and this wasn't included but "they would do it as a favor". This comment and the attitude it infers was totally uncalled for, since I had paid them for 4 hours labor and they only worked 2 1/2 hours.
They also told me that reassembling the beds was not on the order, which isn't even a question on the website as an option when booking (so its never specifically stated on the order). They did assemble the beds, but didn't have all the tools they needed and had to use some of my tools.
They also just left the moving blankets and bubble wrap that they took off the furniture right on the floor. Every mover I have ever used has folded and stacked the blankets, and also disposed of the bubble wrap. I've never had to ask, it is just part of the service.
I have never worked with a Hire a Helper team that strived to do only the bare minimum until this. I would not use them again, as there are many other excellent options on Hire a Helper which I believe would give me the higher quality of service I have received in the past.

Hiring moving labor is always a scary time as you are trusting your life's valuables to unknowns. This was true when I decided on Strong Hands Moving. However, it started out differently when Sterling called me to get more information about the move. He was personable and clearly knew what he was talking about. On the day of the move, Sterling and Julio arrived on time and ready to work. Sterling described how the billing would work on the day and the two got to work. It quickly became clear that they know what they were doing as the household items were and effectively loaded into the truck. Once loaded it was off to the new home where items were placed where we asked. We had no damage to items which I attribute to the caring job that Sterling and Julio did. I highly recommend them to take care of your move.
