I had Chris and Mark. Chris was friendly and strategic with loading everything in my Uhaul. He made sure that all the boxes and furniture were secure and wouldn't shift during the move. Mark took Chris' lead. They showed up early and worked until the job was done. I would recommend this service to my friends and family.

We were very happy with E&J and used them to load/pack our truck and then unload at our new address. Competitive rates and great service. They did an outstanding job of organizing the truck for load in to make as much fit as possible and were very careful and respectful of our most fragile items. Chris and Mark led great crews. Best decision we EVER made. After two movers cancelled the night before they were scheduled to load us, E&J came through at the VERY last minute to clear our house before the new people move in, in 2 days! Eric was very quick to call and confirm which set our mind at ease. They sent Chris who is one of the most polite and thorough people ever. Hopefully it works out and they can bring our stuff to Florida. I honestly wish we would have found them sooner. I would for sure recommend them.

The ease of scheduling and quoting through hire a helper was easy. After receiving quotes from other moving companies, such as two men and a truck and a veteran owned moving company, I went with E&J. I was told by the other moving companies as well as hire a helper I would need 4 hours and 2 men. So that’s what I booked. I got a call saying E&J could come to us 2 hours earlier than scheduled but we weren’t available then. They came later in the scheduled window. I was told verbally by the gentleman via phone call that he had an extra guy (3 total) with him and it would cost the same amount of money just be faster and asked if I was okay with that, I said okay. They showed up in the window time scheduled. I chose a 26’ moving truck upon checkout and they showed up in a pickup truck with a trailer that looked to be 20’. The height of a moving truck and an enclosed trailer are different by about 2 feet so I knew this was going to be an issue but also knew I had to move and had no other options. So they did not show up with what I selected through hire a helper. They had been at my house all of two minutes before it started raining. The gentleman said they could not move in the rain, asked if we were flexible, I said no we had to be out by Wednesday (this was a Monday). He also then decided to tell me that we had too much stuff and 1, they would not be able to move it all, and 2 that I would be charged extra for the third guy. He said it was going to take 8-10 hours to move what we had. Everything was boxed, there were 4 beds already taken a part, with mattresses bagged, and only a washer and dryer for major appliances. I communicated all this with every other moving company and was given the same quote as with E&J so I did not understand why my price was changing. He said Hire a Helper would send me an invoice later for the increased amount. The rain stopped and they threw our stuff in to the truck. They weren’t able to get everything, so we had to rent ANOTHER truck to get what they could not. Upon arriving at the new location, they quickly moved things out and finished in less time than I had scheduled given the pause for the rain. We had to move our things in to our unfinished home and gave instructions that everything was to go in 2 rooms, one upstairs, one downstairs, and it was written on the boxes where the items went (what floor). We also asked that all beds be put on second floor. They did not do that at all. Instead they put everything for the first floor on the second (clearly marked boxes saying Kitchen, First floor, Master, First floor) and everything for the second on the first. They put the beds on the first floor also because they didn’t have time? They dropped several items in the mud. They put boxes upside down. I have broken items. I have spent the last week trying to move things to the correct floor. I would also like to mention that I am 8 months pregnant and they dropped bins of all things for the baby in the mud and then put it back in with everything else. I now have mud all over my new babies sheets, clothes, broken bottles, etc that I get to replace on top of everything else. The evening of the move I got an email from hire a helper with my invoice to release the funds to E&J. The price was exactly what I was quoted so I thought maybe they felt bad for showing up with the wrong vehicle, dropping my stuff in the mud and putting it in my brand new house, and breaking my items. Nope- my husband and I both received phone calls 4 days later from the owner I am assuming named Eric. I have the voicemail, saying we owe him more money for the third guy when he was the one who called and told me it would cost the same amount when he was on his way. I would not use E&J and I would not recommend them to anyone. I would be wary of a business who prices their services and quotes them a certain way and then calls you asking for more money days after the job was done. We paid almost $1,000 to have our items driven from one location to another haphazardly and be harassed for more money. The only reason I’m doing two stars is because his employees were kind and friendly and he arrived in the quoted window for time.
I would like to first say the amount of inaccurate accusations is unbelievable. First off I know how big the truck is and it is a 26 foot. I will be forwarding you a picture of the tape measure to your cell phone for proof. You were charged two guys for five hours.
We did say we were coming with a third and told you that if we had showed up with two guys we would’ve been there 7 to 8 hours which we would’ve had to leave before the job was done because we only do one hour over the booking to accommodate the next customer. We had did you a huge favor by bringing the third and did not force you to pay anything. I was the one on your job and you had completely underestimated and admitted it along with your husband about how much stuff you had. As for your new house you call it, you had no landscaping which was all mud. Also, the siding wasn’t finished, there was no flooring inside it was bare plywood. There was no trim or doors, there was no electric, and there was no plumbing. Only reason I won’t put the address online because that’s a privacy issue. I would like to show the customers that are reading your review the truth about your brand new house. Please do not make false allegations against three hard-working men that worked extremely hard for you and we only charged you for two. All your stuff had to be piled into rooms because we were told to do so because you had to finish the rest of the house. Due to stacking everything up high I told your husband about the improper pack boxes will be crushed if you want us to stack this high. The response was that’s fine we only have so much room we can work with. Really don’t have much more to say besides letting the customers reviewOur only bad review on Hire Helper in over 21 months. It is very sad that we get such an inaccurate review when me and my two workers took care of you like we take care of every customer.

Our customers will get a call from one of our staff to confirm there details of their move and to introduce ourselves as the moving company that will be doing the move for them. How should a customer prepare for moving day?
There’s many things that can be done to help the move go smooth, safe, efficient which will help the cost of the move significantly. Having as many things properly labeled and boxed up as possible, in similar size boxes to help reduced boxes being damaged. Having the closes and properly paved surface/path for a truck or container to back into safely to load or unload customers contains. The less steps we take to get to the truck or container will sure help cut the time down.

What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our favorite part of doing our job as a mover is the satisfaction of getting out there in society and helping all different types of people with their moving needs. We take a ton of satisfaction in helping our customers move their furniture and items they can’t move or don’t want to move. The other plus is that it’s a gym membership that you get paid to do which is a huge plus to us ????????
What training do you provide your crew members?
We put our guys through a very detailed orientation training process to help them fully understand the way E&J Moving likes to do things. We have a training course that goes into safety for themselves with how properly lift items and different ways to move furniture properly. We also have safety courses that go through measures we have in place to protect our customers dwelling and belongings. We also have our guys trained in how to efficiently, quickly and safely get through each move safe and efficient.
