My name is David Reyes Owner/ Lead mover and after receiving the job description from the customer which included unloading half of a 16 foot container, putting the majority of the boxes upstairs in the attic and re-organizing the rest of the items in the container to be transported to another location, i informed the customer that there is no 100% guarantee that two movers and only two hours can get this done. I informed the customer that we did not have any additional time available beyond the two pre-booked hours and generally that we do not offer additional time beyond the pre-booked hours.
I suggested to the customer to add a third mover to the two hour minimum in attempts to avoid the worst case scenario in which we would have to leave at the end of two hours, even if we are not done. Typically it’s about $215 to add a third mover to a two hour minimum and I offered a significantly discounted rate of only $100. The customer took into consideration my suggestions and concerns and decided to add the third mover to the two hour minimum. The customer was not on site for the move. We met with her mother initially and her sister showed up about 25 minutes after we did. From beginning to end the entire job took three movers one and a half hours. Doing the math that means it would’ve taken two movers two hours and 15 minutes. So the two mover team would not have finished within the two hour minimum this validates and justifies my professional suggestions and concerns. As far Hireahelper policy, it’s not a conflict of interest if Hireahelper gets paid in full for the initial order. You were only asked to pay directly to Go2Movers for the extra fees for the third mover. it would be a conflict of interest if the customer/service provider canceled the order so they could work directly together, but that is not what happened. When you stated your grievances by text initially, I immediately called Hireahelper and told them you had a problem with the fees for the third mover I was trying to charge you. And whether you called Hireahelper first with your complaint or called Go2Movers first either way I was going to waive the additional fees. I have been in the moving industry for 15 years and for those 15 years I have worked with Hireahelper directly. I have personally completed over 8200 jobs with my own two hands that is what my professional expertise, suggestions, and assessment of time labor and space is based on.So, in the end, the customer received a three mover team for the price of two movers that by her own admission provided a five star professional service. I, however, paid for the third mover out of my own pocket, did not receive the hundred dollars for the third mover the customer agreed to initially and I got an unjustified spiteful one star review.. the customer also mentioned The three-man crew did an excellent job. They were efficient, professional, careful with my belongings, and completed the work quickly. That’s exactly what you look for and want in a moving company. This customer simply overlooked or doesn’t understand that three movers taking 1.5 hours to complete the job means two movers would have taken two hours and 15 minutes. This is just an example of the old saying you can’t please everyone.
