Erick and David, are the two polite, thoughtful, and strong young men sent by Hire A Helper to assist with my art studio move. David and Eric treated every object, box, and weird flat-pack with care. The walls…not so much. LOL
Hire-a-Helper’s website suggests prepaying for an extra hour of time per staircase. Given that I had two flights of stairs, I pre-paid for double the recommended time (4 hours instead of 2), so that extra time could be allotted for care and to avoid over-exertion. H-a-H must know what they are talking about, as this allowed poor David and Erick to take several rest breaks, including hanging out in the backyard for fresh air, lounging against the PODS contained in the driveway (they asked my permission before taking this specific rest break, which was right after their backyard break, and I told them that only they know what their bodies need, and to do what they need). We had a bit of heat that day, though, so when the movers needed another break a bit later, they chose to just hang out inside, chilling in the (empty, but air-conditioned/cool) house.
Unfortunately, finishing the job and moving the last of the art studio contents from the 3rd to the 1st floor (to be moved by us to our vehicles for safekeeping), necessitated the purchase of an extra hour of each of the young men’s time. I would deduct 1/2 star for the booking company not alerting me to how many breaks their movers need, and that I might need to have extra cash or a Zelle or a checkbook available to pay the movers directly. Thankfully, I was able to use Zelle to pay David directly for the extra hour of both their time, which meant the cash I withdrew for a tip could still be used to that end. Thanks, David, and Erick! You guys are a great team and give me faith in the next generation’s honest work ethic. I’m sure you make your families proud. As a homeless teen, I worked my arse off to be where I am now, and I’m sure your dedication to honorable hard work means you will also have commensurate success in life!

On the day of loading Anthony was early which was great! They were respectful, quick and did a great job loading. I was amazed at how everything was fit into the container like a jigsaw puzzle with room to spare. Awesome team!

David and his coworker did a real nice job loading up our moving truck. Had to deal with a tough staircase and a bit of a walk to the truck curbside. No complaining, worked efficiently to get the job completed without adding any extra work hours! Easy to work with and everything arrived safely and intact from Ct. to Ga. They showed up a few minutes early and prepared to move anything! Within two hours they unloaded a 16' foot truck, that was full of heavy boxes of books and pottery. I was blown away by their efficiency as they tackled the task of carrying all the boxes and furniture up the 3 story walk up. If you need anything moved and want a dependable and careful team you have to go with A Plus Moving! Will be using them should I ever need anything moved again.

They were on time, courteous, fast and careful with our things. I would highly recommend!! We did finish two hours early because they were given an elevator key. Other moves do not have that luxury and take much longer and that was how I budgeted. I hope to receive a credit for the unused two hours of time.

These guys are life savers. I had the pleasure of working with Eric, James, and David. All three of them are great guys, super strong, and really hard working. I had booked them for 3 hours to unload a 16ft container filled to the brim with a heavily furnished 2 bedroom apartment worth of furniture; including but not limited to a 300lb marble dining room table forged in the fires of moving hell. They were able to show up an hour early and completed the job in less than 2 hours, meaning I finished my move 2 hours ahead of schedule.i hope I don’t have to move ever again—or at least for a long time—but if I do, I would certainly call these guys again. If you’re reading this guys, thanks again! You guys are the best!
